Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC for Galaxy Allegedly Surfaces on Geekbench

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to go official in the second half of this year alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The South Korean giant is speculated to use both Qualcomm and Exynos chipsets in the next generation of foldable phones this year. Amid these rumours, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 has allegedly appeared on the Geekbench website with a custom Snapdragon chipset. This high-end SoC with a higher-clocked prime core and a higher-clocked GPU already powers the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra.

A Samsung handset has been spotted on the Geekbench website with the model number SM-F741U. The listing, believed to belong to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 shows a 15,084 Vulkan score and 14,325 OpenCL score. The Vulkan and OpenCL tests confirm the presence of an eight-core CPU with a 2.26GHz base frequency, 3.40Ghz peak frequency, and Adreno 750 GPU. These CPU speeds and GPU are associated with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.

The listings suggest an Android 14 operating system and 6.75GB of RAM on the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This could be translated to 8GB on paper. The listings are dated April 17 and was first spotted by SamMobile.

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the same custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy SoC with overclocked CPU and GPU cores. The regular Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ also use the same chipset in select markets.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to launch in July at an Unpacked event in Paris alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6. It is said to come with a larger cover display than the Galaxy Z Flip 5 that could offer 120Hz refresh rate instead of a 60Hz refresh rate. It is tipped to come in 8GB or 12GB RAM options with 256GB or 512GB storage. It could be offered in light blue, light green, silver, and yellow colourways. The foldable is said to support 25W charging.

Vivo X100 Spotted on AnTuTu With Dimensity 9300 SoC; Vivo X100 Pro Allegedly Shows Up on Geekbench

Vivo X100 series comprising — Vivo X100, Vivo X100 Pro, and Vivo X100 Pro+ — is expected to go official soon. Vivo is yet to confirm the arrival of new X series handsets, but ahead of it, the Vivo X100 has been spotted on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform with the model number V2309A. The listing suggests that Vivo X100 runs on the yet-to-be-announced MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. Additionally, the purported Vivo X100 Pro has allegedly surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking site with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.

The AnTuTu listing shows a Vivo phone with model number V2309A. This is notably one of the model numbers that were spotted on China’s Compulsory Certification (3C) website earlier this month. The listing, thought to be of Vivo X100, indicates an overall benchmark score of 2,249,858. The total points include a CPU score of 58,632 points and a GPU score of 9,18,790 points. The new model has 4,74,036 points as a MEM (memory) score and a UX score of 3,38,400 points.

The database mentions the presence of the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM on the Vivo X100. Further, it highlights that the handset ships with Android 14 and includes 1TB of UFS 4.0 onboard storage.

A Vivo smartphone has also been spotted on the Geekbench website with the model number V2324A. The listing, believed to be that of the Vivo X100 Pro, suggest Android 14 operating system onboard the device. As per the benchmark listing, spotted by MySmartPrice, an octa-core chipset with the codename ‘taro’ will power the phone. It shows a prime CPU core with a maximum clock speed of 3.00GHz, three cores capped at 2.50GHz and four cores with a maximum speed of 1.79GHz. These CPU speeds indicate the presence of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset on the upcoming Vivo X100 Pro.

The listing shows 984 points in single-core testing and 3,293 points in multi-core testing. As per the listing, the Vivo X100 Pro could get 11GB of RAM, this could get translated to 12GB on paper. The listing is dated October 12.

Previous rumours had hinted at the presence of MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC on the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro. As Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC is quite old, Vivo could pack the latest chip for the upcoming flagship. Vivo is yet to confirm the development of the Vivo X100 series. Therefore, it is recommended to take all these details with a pinch of salt.

iPhone 15 Series Battery Capacities, Wattage Reportedly Revealed via Regulatory Database: Details

iPhone 15 series’ battery capacities and wattage details have reportedly been revealed thanks to a regulatory database. Apple does not publish details of the batteries in its smartphones, aside from battery backup — in hours. However, a new report reveals that the iPhone 15 Pro models are equipped with slightly larger batteries than last year’s models. It is worth noting that Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are equipped with a new 3nm A17 Pro chip, which is expected to offer better efficiency (and performance) compared to last year’s Pro models.

A MySmartPrice report states that the details of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max batteries have been listed on a Chinese regulatory database. The publication did not reveal the name of the database, but includes details of both the capacity and wattage of all four models in the iPhone 15 series.

According to the report, the iPhone 15 is equipped with a 3,349mAh battery with a wattage of 12.981Wh. The regular iPhone 14 that was launched last year featured a 3,279mAh battery. The iPhone 15 Plus is equipped with a 4,383mAh battery with a wattage of 16.950Wh, slightly higher than the iPhone 14 Plus, which had a battery capacity of 4,235mAh.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro reportedly packs a 3,274mAh battery with a wattage of 12.70Wh, slightly higher than the iPhone 14 Pro, which has a 3,200mAh unit. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line iPhone 15 Pro Max features a 4,422mAh battery with a wattage of 17.109Wh — this is slightly higher than its predecessor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which was equipped with a 4,323mAh battery.

Apple does not reveal the battery capacities of its smartphones, unlike other smartphone OEMs. Instead, it reveals the typical battery life offered by the smartphone. According to the company, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will offer the best battery life in the lineup — offering up to 29 hours of video playback. The iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 offer 25 hours, 23 hours, and 20 hours of battery life, respectively.

A recent report also revealed another specification that Apple typically keeps under wraps — the amount of RAM on its smartphones. Apple previously upgraded the available RAM on its smartphone from 4GB to 6GB when it launched the iPhone 13 Pro, and the company’s iPhone 15 Pro models are the first handsets to feature 8GB of RAM while the non-Pro models are equipped with 6GB of RAM, according to a report
