Most recently, a Chinese tipster has dished out some more key specifications of the upcoming OnePlus phone. The OnePlus Ace 3 is said to come with a metal frame design and boast a 1.5K curved display. Meanwhile, a recent Geekbench listing indicated Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and 16GB RAM on the OnePlus Ace 3. It is expected to debut in markets outside China with the OnePlus 12R moniker.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) has leaked the specifications of the rumoured OnePlus Ace 3 on Weibo. As per the tipster, the handset will feature a curved display with 1.5K resolution. It is said to have a metal middle frame and a gunmetal grey glass body. Further, it is tipped to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

The OnePlus Ace 3 allegedly made an appearance on the Geekbench website with the model number PJD110. The handset received a single-core score of 1,597 points and a multi-core score of 5,304 points on the platform. As per the listing, it has a chipset codenamed ‘kalama,’ which is associated with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The listing suggested 16GB RAM and Android 13 operating system.

OnePlus Ace 3 is expected to launch in global markets with the OnePlus 12R moniker. As per past leaks, it could get a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is tipped to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera at the back. It might feature a 16-megapixel sensor in the front.

The OnePlus 11R 5G was launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 39,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 256GB variant.

OnePlus Ace 2 With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC was unveiled in China in February this year. Later the same handset made its way to India with the OnePlus 11R 5G moniker. Now, OnePlus Ace 3 aka OnePlus 12R is reportedly in the works. While its launch date remains a mystery, a recent alleged Geekbench listing has suggested that OnePlus could pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC on the upcoming handset. The listing also suggests Android 13 operating system and 16GB RAM on the OnePlus Ace 3.

An upcoming OnePlus handset has turned up on the Geekbench website with the model number PJD110. As per the listing, believed to be that of the OnePlus Ace 3, the phone has a chipset codenamed ‘kalama,’ which is associated with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The chip has a tri-cluster architecture with a prime CPU core clocked at 3.19GHz. It also shows that the phone has 14.83GB of memory. This could translate to 16GB RAM on paper. The benchmark listing suggests Android 13 on the handset.

Further, the listing shows that the phone has received a single-core score of 1,597 points and a multi-core score of 5,304 points. These points do not reflect the actual performance of the OnePlus Ace 3, though, as the phone listed on Geekbench could be a prototype and might go through future refinements.

OnePlus 12R Tipped to Get Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 5,500mAh Battery; Could Launch Early Next Year

OnePlus 11R 5G with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC was launched in India in February this year. Now, OnePlus 12R is reportedly in the works as a possible successor of the smartphone. The launch date of the OnePlus 12R is yet to be officially confirmed by the Shenzhen headquartered company, but ahead of it, its specifications have leaked on the Web. The upcoming handset is said to run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is tipped to house a 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W charging. The OnePlus 12R is expected to go official early next year.

Reliable tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) suggested the launch timeline and specifications of the OnePlus 12R on X (formerly Twitter). He claimed that the handset would be launched in early 2024. It is said to debut as a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 3. The OnePlus 11R 5G debuted in China as the OnePlus Ace 2.

As per the leak, the OnePlus 12R will run on Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 and feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. For optics, the handset is tipped to get a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera. For selfies and video chats, there could be a 16-megapixel front camera.

The OnePlus 12R is said to include an alert slider and stereo speakers. According to Brar, it will be backed by a 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging. These are in line with past leaks.

OnePlus 12R is likely to succeed the OnePlus 11R 5G, which was launched in India in February with a price tag of Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB + 256GB storage configuration and Rs. 44,999 for the 16GB + 256G storage variant.

The current OnePlus 11R 5G sports a 6.74-inch full-HD+ curved AMOLED display with an adaptive dynamic refresh rate of 120Hz. It runs on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and has a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC fast charging.

OnePlus Ace 2 Variant With MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC Tipped to Launch Soon: Details

OnePlus Ace 2 was launched in China earlier this month. The same phone also came to India as a rebranded OnePlus 11 5G. Both variants were equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. However, as per a new leak, OnePlus is now gearing up to launch a OnePlus Ace 2 model that would use a MediaTek Dimensity SoC. The display of the OnePlus Ace 2 with the Dimensity SoC is also expected to be a 1.5K resolution flat screen instead of the curved AMOLED panel seen on the OnePlus Ace 2.

According to a report by MyDrivers, which cites tipster Digital Chat Station’s Weibo post, OnePlus is gearing up to launch a OnePlus Ace 2 variant that will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and a 1.5K flat display. The standard OnePlus Ace 2 and the OnePlus 11R 5G smartphones feature a 6.74-inch full-HD+ curved AMOLED display. The new smartphone is expected to be priced a little lower than the OnePlus Ace 2, and OnePlus 11R 5G, as per the report.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 SoC is its latest chipset and a flagship processor. The SoC is manufactured using a 4nm process. If this report is true, then it will replace the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC found on the standard OnePlus Ace 2. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC isn’t the latest Snapdragon SoC available in the market currently.

According to the report, apart from the processor and display specifications, all other specifications, features, and design of the smartphone are expected to remain the same as the OnePlus Ace 2 or OnePlus 11R 5G.

To recall, the OnePlus Ace 2, and OnePlus 11R 5G launched in China, and India respectively, with a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The rear camera setup supports 10x digital zoom, 4K video recording at 30fps (frames-per-second), EIS (electronic image stabilisation) and OIS (optical image stabilisation). For selfies, the smartphones come with 16-megapixel shooter that is housed in a centrally alligned punch-hole cutout.

However, it is worth noting that OnePlus has not provided any official confirmation on the possibility of a new OnePlus Ace 2 variant with the MediaTek Dimensity chipset as of yet.
