Nothing Phone 2 Gets Massive Discount During Flipkart Republic Day Sale 2024; More Offers Revealed

Nothing Phone 2 was introduced in India in July 2023 with three RAM and storage configurations. The phone is available exclusively in the country via Flipkart, one of India’s leading e-commerce sites, which will begin its annual Republic Day Sale on January 14. Ahead of the sale, Nothing has revealed certain deals and offers that customers can avail of if they purchase the Nothing Phone 2 during this time. The company has confirmed additional bank offers and discounts that customers may be eligible for during the sale, which will help them buy the product at a lower effective price.

Nothing has confirmed that all variants of the Nothing Phone 2 will be available at discounted prices during the upcoming Flipkart Republic Day Sale. However, in the press statement, the company has revealed the discounted sale price for only one variant. The 12GB + 256GB option of the handset, which is currently listed at Rs. 44,999, will be offered at Rs. 34,999 during the sale. The discounted price of the other variants will likely be revealed once the sale is live.

The Nothing Phone 2 comes in three RAM and storage options. It is available in Dark Gray and White colour options. At launch, the base 8GB + 128GB variant was priced at Rs. 44,999, while the 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB variants were marked at Rs. 49,999 and Rs. 54,999, respectively. The phones then received a permanent price cut in December 2023, bringing the price of the base variant down to Rs. 39,999. 

Regarding the Flipkart Republic Day Sale discount, Nothing added that customers purchasing the Nothing Phone 2 during the sale, will be able to buy the CMF by Nothing 65W GaN charger at Rs. 1,999. The charger is generally listed at Rs. 2,999 and is claimed to charge the Nothing Phone 2 from zero to 50 percent within 25 minutes.

Nothing also announced that customers opting to pay using ICICI Bank cards at the time of purchase will be eligible for a special Rs. 2,000 discount during the sale. The company is also extending an exchange offer that will allow people to get an additional discount of Rs. 3,000 when exchanging eligible handsets. It is important to note that this is a limited-time offer.

Flipkart Republic Day Sale 2024 to Start on January 14 With Discounts on iPhone 14, Pixel 7a, More

Flipkart Republic Day sale 2024 dates are now official. The six-day online sale will begin in India on January 14. Like previous years, the sale will start exclusively for Flipkart Plus members on January 13. The e-commerce company is promising exciting deals and offers on hundreds of products in the upcoming sale. The Flipkart Republic Day sale will bring deals, discounts, and offers on products such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, earbuds, and smart TVs, among others. Additionally, Flipkart is promising savings on payments through select bank cards. Smartphones from brands including Apple, Samsung, Google, and Realme are confirmed to see price cuts during the sale.

The e-commerce company has created a dedicated webpage revealing the Flipkart Republic Day sale dates. The discount sale will start on January 14 and continue until January 19. Plus members will be given early access to deals from January 13. Fashion accessories, TVs, electronics, furniture and mattresses are confirmed to get up to 80 percent discount. There will be up to 85 percent discount for appliances whereas beauty and toys items will be listed with up to 85 percent price cuts.

Smartphones from brands including Apple, Samsung, Realme, and Motorola will see price cuts during the sale. Flipkart has not disclosed deals on smartphones, but the flagship iPhone 14, and Pixel 7a are teased to receive discounts. Flipkart’s banners indicate offers on Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, Motorola Edge 40 Neo, Samsung F14 5G, Realme C53, Realme 11X 5G, Moto G54 5G, and more.

Further, the sale will cover new launches including the Vivo X100 series, Oppo Reno 11 series, Infinix Smart 8, Redmi Note 13 Pro series, and Poco X6 series. Additionally, there will be cashback, exchange offers, no-cost EMI offers, and more.

Earlier this week, Flipkart rival Amazon also announced that it is hosting its Amazon Great Republic Day sale starting January 15.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE With Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC Hinted in Big Year End Sale Teaser, Listed on Flipkart

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE debuted in India alongside the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Buds FE in October. The ‘Fan Edition’ Galaxy smartphone sports a 6.4-inch Dynamic full-HD+ AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a 4,500mAh battery. While the handset runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in global markets, it comes with the in-house Exynos 2200 chipset in India. A Flipkart listing and a sale teaser on the e-commerce website, however, suggest that a Snapdragon chipset variant of the phone could be arriving in the Indian market soon.

Flipkart seems to have listed the Galaxy S23 FE with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC on its site. While the product currently is out of stock, a teaser for an upcoming Samsung phone during the Big Year End sale hints at an imminent launch.

The teaser, spotted on Big Year End sale page on the Flipkart app, shows a Samsung handset with triple rear cameras, listed as “coming soon,” alongside the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G and the Vivo X100 series. The sale teaser, which reads “The New Epic,” doesn’t give away any details about the handset, but the Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S23 FE product page shows the price of the handset listed as Rs. 56,500. The listing features the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the phone in the Purple colourway.

While the Big Year End sale teaser and the product listing hints at Galaxy S23 FE getting the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in India, Samsung hasn’t announced any plans to introduce the new variant in the market here. The Flipkart listing could also be an error.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE succeeded the Galaxy S21 FE, launched over two years ago in January 2021. The South Korean tech conglomerate skipped the ‘Fan Edition’ phone for Galaxy S22 generation. Launched in October, the Galaxy S23 FE sports a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultrawide lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. In India, the phone currently runs on an Exynos 2200 chipset. It is priced at Rs. 59,999 for the 8GB + 128GB RAM and storage model, while the 8GB+256GB variant comes in at Rs. 64,999.

Flipkart Teams with Polygon to Scale Web3 Loyalty Programme FireDrops

Flipkart is looking to dive deeper into its Web3 initiative FireDrops, and to do so, the ecommerce giant has partnered with the Polygon blockchain network. Using Polygon’s CDK-deployed Layer 2 chain, Flipkart plans to boost its Web3 loyalty programme. Launched earlier this year, Flipkart wishes to expand its offerings portfolio from physical items to virtual assets as well. Originally, the ecommerce platform had chosen Polygon to launch its FireDrops initiative.

With FireDrops, Flipkart is trying to give a new twist to its strategies to ramp up user engagements on its platform. Several brands selling their products on Flipkart are incentivising brand loyalty through gamification, giving their users fresher experiences of being rewarded through virtual goodies rather than physical ones.

“Flipkart is tapping Polygon CDK to build an Ethereum-based zero knowledge (ZK) Layer 2 network dedicated to the service and ensure future growth. It gives Flipkart a number of customization options, including a fine-tuned onboarding experience, dedicated blockspace and low transaction fees for its users. Future upgrades to Polygon CDK will also allow for enhanced privacy for transaction data, the ability to run the chain without a token or to use a central bank digital currency and access to liquidity in the greater Polygon and Ethereum ecosystems,” Polygon Labs wrote in an official blog post.

Arun Phillips, the Chief Marketing Officer at Polygon, announced this development during the Polygon Connect India event this week.

On the official website of FireDrops, Flipkart says that existing reward programmes feel ‘complex, boring, and broken’.

Since its launch earlier this year, FireDrops has managed to generate 3.3 million wallets holding at least one NFT that the users may have collected as part of a brand reward.

From mystery boxes and special badges to discount benefits, early accesses, and freebies – the FireDrops reward programme also lets users earn from buying and selling rewards. This is what Flipkart is marketing as ‘the future of rewards’.

Internationally, several other brands are also taking an immersive, virtual approach to give their rewards programmes a Web3 twist and usher-in a new era of customer engagement. These brands include Starbucks, Lufthansa Airlines, and apparel brand Lacoste among others.

Nothing Phone 2 Price in India Gets a Permanent Price Cut; Now Starts at Rs. 39,999

Nothing Phone 2 was launched in India in July this year as the second smartphone offering from the UK brand. Now, six months after the launch, the UK-based startup led by Carl Pei has announced a big price cut on the phone. The handset is now available from Flipkart at Rs. 39,999 for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option. The Nothing Phone 2 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and features the unique Glyph interface. It packs a dual rear camera setup, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and houses a 4,700mAh battery.

Nothing Phone 2 price in India (revised)

The Nothing Phone 2 (Review) price in India has been reduced by Rs. 5,000. The handset is currently listed on Flipkart with a price tag of Rs. 39,999 for the base 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, instead of the original launch price of Rs. 44,999. The 12GB + 256GB variant is now listed for Rs. 44,999, instead of Rs. 49,999, whereas the top-end model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is selling for Rs. 49,999, down from the original price tag of 54,999.

Gadgets 360 has reached out to Nothing for a comment on the price drop. We will update this space once we hear back from the brand.

Nothing Phone 2 specifications,

The dual-SIM (Nano) Nothing Phone 2 runs on Android 13-based Nothing OS 2.0 and features a 6.7-inch full-HD (1,080×2,412 pixels) LTPO OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. It is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with an Adreno 730 GPU and up to 12GB of RAM.

For optics, the Nothing Phone 2 has a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX890 sensor that comes with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS). There’s also a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfies, it has a 32-megapixel camera.

The Nothing Phone 2 features the unique Glyph Interface comprising LED strips underneath the transparent back panel. Further, it packs up to 512GB of inbuilt storage and is backed by a 4,700mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging, and 5W Qi wireless charging.

PS5 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Bundle Launches in India Tomorrow, Priced at Rs. 49,390

Sony is gearing up to launch the PS5’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III bundle in India. The cross-gen package will be available from November 10 onwards, but unlike in the US, the publisher isn’t selling the new slim version of the console here yet. Players will receive the standard 4K Blu-ray drive-equipped PS5, alongside a voucher code for Activision’s upcoming marquee shooter, at Rs. 49,390. This is part of an ‘introductory offer’ running until November 23, during which the bundle’s price has been slashed by Rs. 10,000 — after which, it will cost Rs. 59,390, which is the base price for any PS5 game bundle.

PlayStation has been ramping up marketing in India recently by offering numerous discounts on the PS5 and bundling it up with on-demand games like God of War Ragnarök, Spider-Man 2, EA Sports FC 24, and even Cricket 24 (to coincide with the ICC World Cup). It’s interesting to note, however, that the Modern Warfare 3 bundle available in the US is reportedly including the game worth $70 (about Rs. 5,830) for free with the PS5 Slim variant at a gross total of $499.99 (about Rs. 41,640). Meanwhile, players in India get treated to the same old version of PS5, where technically speaking, the game isn’t included for free in the bundle.

You see, a PS5 disc variant costs Rs. 54,990 in India, while the upcoming Call of Duty game is priced at Rs. 5,599 on the PlayStation store — totalling Rs. 60,589. Sure, the limited-time sale makes it way cheaper — at Rs. 49,390 — but once it’s over, you’re paying the full price. As usual, it will be available to buy from the usual Indian retailers like Amazon, Chroma, Flipkart, GamestheShop, Reliance Digital, ShopatSC, and Vijay Sales.

For now, it’s unclear when the slimmer version of the PS5 will arrive in India and if so, whether it will be priced similar to the current version. Sony previously suggested that once it manages to sell off the older models, only the new slim ones will be made available to purchase. It’s simply 30 percent smaller than the original version and comes with a detachable disc drive, which requires an internet connection to register/ bind it to the console. Hardware is all around the same, but the internal storage has been upgraded from an 825GB to a 1TB SSD. A digital PS5 slim variant is also available at $449.99 (about Rs. 37,400), albeit it’s more of a marketing gimmick since one can buy the Blu-ray drive separately and install it themselves.

Elsewhere, Sony has delayed half the total live service games it had planned to launch by March 2026 — down from 12 to six titles. During an earnings call, Sony PlayStation COO Hiroki Totoki said (via VGC), “We are reviewing this… we are trying as much as possible to ensure [that these games] are enjoyed and liked by gamers for a long time. [Out of] the 12 titles, six titles will be released by FY25 — that’s our current plan.” He further added that the remaining six will be evaluated further to see their potential — possibly another meeting with Destiny 2 maker Bungie to review the live service portfolio. It’s also worth mentioning that The Last of Us multiplayer game, which was allegedly put ‘on ice,’ is still in active development — as confirmed by its director Vinit Agarwal.

Both the PS5 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 bundle and the game itself launch November 10.

One of the best smartphones under Rs. 20,000 to grab during the sale is the Samsung Galaxy F34 5G, which was released in the country earlier this year in August. The handset carries an in-house octa-core Exynos 1280 SoC and a large 6,000mAh battery. The phone comes with a 6.5-inch full-HD+ 120Hz display and a 50-megapixel dual rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS). Its 12GB + 256GB variant is currently listed on Flipkart at Rs. 15,999, down 27 percent from Rs. 21,999.

Among other good offers, a notable mention in this category is the Realme 11x 5G. Its 6GB + 128GB variant is now available on Flipkart at Rs. 13,999, down 17 percent from its usual price of Rs. 16,999. It comes with a 6.72-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED 120Hz display, a 64-megapixel dual rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will go on sale in India for the first time today (October 12). The latest Pixel series smartphones were unveiled last week during the Made by Google 2023 event alongside the Pixel Watch 2 and updated Pixel Buds Pro. Both the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro run on Google’s Tensor G3 processor and pack up to 256GB of storage. They ship with Android 14 and have hole punch style displays with 120Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 8 packs a 4,575mAh battery with support for 27W charging, while the Pixel 8 Pro has a 5,050mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

Price of Pixel 8 in India is set at Rs. 75,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model, while the variant with 256GB storage costs Rs. 82,999. It is offered in Hazel, Obsidian, and Rose colour options. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 1,06,999 for the 12GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It is available in Bay, Obsidian, and Porcelain colour options.

New Pixel handsets will be available for purchase in the country via Flipkart starting today. As an introductory offer, the e-commerce company is providing an instant discount of up to Rs. 8,000 for Pixel 8 purchases made using ICICI, Kotak Mahindra, and Axis Bank cards. In addition to this, customers can avail of Rs. 3,000 discount while exchanging their old phone.

Meanwhile, Pixel 8 Pro buyers can get up to Rs. 9,000 discount on orders placed through select bank cards. In addition to this, there is a Rs. 4,000 exchange bonus as well. These special bank offers and exchange discounts will bring down the price of the Pixel 8 to Rs. 64,999 and the Pixel 8 Pro’s price to Rs. 93,999.

Customers purchasing the Pixel 8 series smartphones are also eligible to buy the new Pixel Watch 2 for a discounted price of Rs. 19,999, instead of Rs. 39,900, or the Pixel Buds Pro for Rs. 8,999, down from Rs. 9,999.

The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro run on Android 14 out-of-the-box. The regular model sports a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch Quad-HD (1,344×2,992 pixels) resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. They are powered by Google’s Tensor G3 chipset and the Titan M2 security chip. The Pixel 8 packs 8GB of RAM while the Pixel 8 Pro features 12GB of RAM.

For optics, the vanilla Pixel 8 has a dual rear camera unit, comprising a 50-megapixel Samsung GN2 sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera. The Pixel 8 Pro features a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, and two 48-megapixel sensors. Both models carry a 10.5-megapixel front camera.

Connectivity options on the handsets include Wi-Fi 6E, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. Further, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

The Pixel 8 is equipped with a 4,575mAh battery with support for 27W wired charging. The Pixel 8 Pro, in contrast, has a 5050mAh battery with support for 30W wired charging. Both models also support wireless charging.
