Vivo Y200 5G Now Available in 256GB Storage Variant; Vivo Y27 4G, Vivo T2 5G Prices Cut in India

Vivo Y200 5G was unveiled in India in October last year. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC and is backed by a 4,800mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. Now the company has announced that the phone will be available in a new storage variant. Vivo also announced a price cut for two of its other models, the Vivo Y27 4G and the Vivo T2 5G, that were launched in the country in July and April 2023, respectively. 

The Vivo Y200 5G is now available in an 8GB + 256GB storage configuration that is priced at Rs. 23,999. SBI, IDFC First, Bank of Baroda, DBS Bank, Federal Bank, and IndusInd Bank customers can avail of an instant cashback of up to Rs. 2,000. The handset is also listed with an 8GB + 128GB option at Rs. 21,999 and is offered in Desert Gold and Jungle Green colour options.

Powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, the Vivo Y200 5G is equipped with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) AMOLED display, a 64-megapixel dual rear camera unit and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. It ships with Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13 and carries a 4,800mAh battery with support for 44W wired fast charging. The handset also comes with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Vivo also announced that the 6GB + 128GB variant of the Vivo Y27 4G is available in India now at a lower price of Rs. 11,999. SBI, Yes Bank, IDFC First Bank, Bank of Baroda, DBS Bank, Federal Bank, and IndusInd Bank customers may be eligible to win a cashback of up to Rs. 1,000. On the other hand, the 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB variants of the Vivo T2 5G can now be bought in India at lowered prices of Rs. 15,999 and Rs. 17,999, respectively. The newer prices are effective starting February 1.

Offered in Burgundy Black and Garden Green colourways, the Vivo Y27 4G features a 6.64-inch full-HD+ (2,388 x 1,080 pixels) LCD panel. It comes with a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 44W wired fast charging. The phone also carries a 50-megapixel dual rear camera unit, while the front camera houses an 8-megapixel sensor.

Meanwhile, the Vivo T2 5G is available in shades of Nitro Blaze and Velocity Wave. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, a 4,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support, a 6.38-inch AMOLED (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) display, a 64-megapixel dual rear camera unit and a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired SuperVOOC charging support. The 8GB + 128GB variant of the phone can be purchased during the ongoing Flipkart sale at Rs. 16,999, down 19 percent from its marked price of Rs. 20,999.

One of the best smartphones under Rs. 20,000 to grab during the sale is the Samsung Galaxy F34 5G, which was released in the country earlier this year in August. The handset carries an in-house octa-core Exynos 1280 SoC and a large 6,000mAh battery. It is equipped with a 6.46-inch full-HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) sAMOLED 120Hz display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Funtouch OS 14 Update Launched: Here’s a List of Eligible Vivo and Iqoo Smartphones

Vivo has launched its new software update, the Funtouch OS 14, which is based on the recently launched Android 14. The company has also confirmed a list of smartphones that are scheduled to receive the update over the coming few months – including both Vivo and Iqoo handsets. The update introduces a significant number of upgrades and new features over the preceding software. Starting in October, the rolling out of the Funtouch OS 14 Beta version is spread over the next few months leading up to April 2024.

Smooth Envision is a new feature introduced with Funtouch OS 14 that claims to enhance the overall performance of the system including increasing speed and optimising RAM usage. For devices with 8GB or more RAM, this ability allows users to free up to 600MB of space, facilitating multitasking. Meanwhile, the App Retainer is said to make sure that whitelisted apps are constantly available for use.

The Motion Blur feature of the new OS update claims to offer more fluid visual transitions while launching and shutting apps, even on models with a 60Hz refresh rate. This update also allows up to 12 small windows to remain active in the background. The Funtouch OS 14 also supports side-swipe suspension and introduces a new non-interactive mini small window mode for when users need to monitor a certain app while playing it over others.

The update also introduces a list of new styles, fonts and themes for the lock screen and always-on display. This also comes with video editing tools which help users to create content without the help of a third-party application. It has also updated the gallery browsing experience by allowing users more tools like choosing the video playback speed or loop videos.

The FuntouchOS 14 has also brought along the Smart Mirroring feature, allowing users to share their screen without revealing personal data in the notification bar. Users can also choose to protect some of their photos and videos with an added password verification in this new update.

Vivo T2 5G series is set to launch in India soon as the company prepares to expand its T-series of smartphones in the country. The phone is confirmed to make its debut in India, and details have begun to appear via a Flipkart microsite. Vivo has also given users a sneak peek into the design of the upcoming Vivo T2 5G handset. The Vivo T2 5G is teased to be powered by a Snapdragon SoC. The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed the upcoming launch of the Vivo T2 5G series in India via a microsite on Flipkart. The company has also teased the design of the upcoming Vivo T2 5G. The soon-to-be-launched smartphone is teased to feature an unspecified Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm with 5G support. The name of the chipset will be revealed on April 9, according to Vivo. The microsite has also confirmed a dual rear camera setup accompanied by an LED flash housed in two circular modules on the phone’s back panel. The camera specifications will be revealed on April 7.

Additionally, the handset is also teased to feature a display with a centre-aligned waterdrop notch. It will sport power and volume buttons on the right spine of the phone. The Vivo T2 5G series’ display specifications are scheduled to be revealed on April 5.

The Vivo T2 5G will reportedly be available in two storage variants – 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage, and 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. The Vivo T2x 5G, on the other hand, will reportedly launch in three storage options – 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB.

Another recent report had suggested that the Vivo T2 series will launch in India in April and will be priced at under Rs. 20,000. The Vivo T2 5G is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC., whereas the Vivo T2x 5G is said to use a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. The handset, packing a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, is offered in Rainbow Fantasy and Starlight Black colour options and runs Android 12-based FunTouch OS 12.
