Jimmy Kimmel mocks Al Pacino’s Best Picture Oscars 2024 flub

Say hello to my different presenting style.

Oscars 2024 host Jimmy Kimmel jokingly slammed Al Pacino’s presentation of the coveted Best Picture award while appearing on “Live with Kelly and Mark.”

“I guess he’s never watched an awards show before,” Kimmel, 56, told Kelly Ripa, 53, and Mark Consuelos, 52, in a clip aired on Monday. “It seems like everyone in America knows the rhythm of how it’s supposed to go, down to ‘And the Oscar goes to…’ but, uh, not Al.”

The “Scarface” actor — who was supposed to reunite with his co-star Michelle Pfeiffer until she dropped out last-minute — appeared during Sunday’s star-studded assembly to present the top honor … with his own twist.

Instead of building the tension and suspense — as other presenters have before — by naming each of the 10 nominated films, the “Godfather” star just blurted out the victor.

“This is the time for the last award of the evening, and it’s my honor to present it. Ten wonderful films were nominated, but only one will take the award for Best Picture,” Pacino stated while fumbling to open the envelope. “And, uh, I have to go to the envelope for that, and I will. Here it comes. And my eyes see ‘Oppenheimer.’ Yes. Yes.”

Pacino’s abrupt announcement took some by surprise inside LA’s Dolby Theater — and others at home.

The Post reached out to Pacino for comment.

Several critics were quick to react on social media, too.

Yes.” Rob Latour/Shutterstock

“Wish Al would have read all of the nominees first. I was looking forward to seeing the sizzle reels, and a bit of tension,” one person posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“The downside of elderly legends giving out the biggest award,” stated a second person. “Pair them with a younger star to make sure they do what they are supposed to do or tape the announcement of the ten nominees. Disrespectful to not give them their due.”

“Didn’t anyone tell him he had to read the names of the nominated films before he opens the envelope,” a third user lambasted. “Was he drinking?”

The “Scent of a Woman” alum’s hesitant delivery of the award caused Oscar-goers to hold their applause for the film until Pacino confirmed the name and the film’s score rang throughout LA’s Dolby Theatre. REUTERS/Mike Blake

Despite several negative reviews, others defended him.

“People think he forgot to say the nominees, but they did the same non-announcement for Best Song,” a user pointed out. “Perhaps they skip saying the nominees in both categories because each song was sung and each movie highlighted during the ceremony.”

“This always happens at the end of these awards shows especially when they have an 80-year-old presenting. You can’t blame them. Get over it,” another angry X user posted.

“Another old Hollywood legend hung out to dry at the end of the show,” a third person lamented.

Although Kimmel teased Pacino, a source claims to E! News that the actor’s abbreviated speech was a creative direction by production.

Christopher Nolan’s three-hour epic, which was nominated for 13 awards, took home the top prize, beating out “American Fiction,” “Barbie,” “Anatomy of a Fall,” “The Holdovers,” “Poor Things,” “The Zone of Interest,” “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Past Lives” and “Maestro.”

The biopic also earned gold statues for Best Director (Nolan), Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), Best Supporting Actor (Robert Downey Jr.), Best Editing, Best Cinematography and Best Score.

Prince Harry pays tribute to late mother Princess Diana as he attends ‘living legend’ awards solo

Prince Harry paid touching tribute to his late mother Princess Diana as he was inducted into an aviation Hall of Fame on Friday.

The Duke of Sussex was named a “living legend” before being honored for his time as a helicopter co-pilot in the British Army.

Harry attended the star-studded ceremony in Beverly Hills sans wife Meghan Markle.

After taking to the stage to receive his award from John Travolta, Harry recalled the actor’s picture-perfect moment in 1985 when he danced with Diana at President Ronald Reagan’s White House dinner.

“I was just a one-year-old when you danced with my mom at the White House and now look at us,” Harry, 39, told Travolta.

“The only thing left to do is… not dance together but fly together,” he added.

Travolta, who is the “Official Ambassador of Aviation” and a former pilot himself, was reportedly the one who pushed for the exiled royal to be recognized for his stint in the Army.

After presenting Harry with a medal, Travolta asked him, “What can you remember about your first flight?”

“It’s classified,” Harry quipped.

Harry has 10 years of military experience under his belt and has completed two tours of Afghanistan where he flew in combat missions.

The royal, who rose to the rank of Captain during his time in the military, is also the founder of the Invictus Games, for which he was honored at the ceremony.

Harry’s name was called out among a slew of others, including Jeff Bezos, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Morgan Freeman, Elon Musk, and Saudi Prince Sultan bin Salman Al Saud.

Other space legends such as US Navy pilot Fred George and former world speed record holder Steve Hinton were also inducted.

Harry, who this week withdrew his libel case against the Mail on Sunday, seemingly enjoyed his evening out, as he was pictured taking a selfie with Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe, 46, who is a member of the Danish royal family.

Harry’s outing came just days after it emerged that Kate Middleton had a planned abdominal surgery, which she will now recover from for at least two weeks.

News of the Princess of Wales’s medical procedure came to light Wednesday in an official statement from Kensington Palace, who revealed that she has postponed all engagements until after Easter.

That same day, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles will undergo a “corrective procedure” for an enlarged prostate next week.

Harry and Meghan have not publicly commented on the news at this time.

Ian Ziering breaks silence after ‘unsettling’ biker gang attack

Ian Ziering is speaking out following the “alarming” biker attack he experienced on New Year’s Eve.

The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum, 59, took to Instagram about the incident on Monday.

“Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes,” he wrote. “While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”

“I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace.”

In a video of the altercation obtained by TMZ, Ziering can be seen getting into a fight with several bikers on Hollywood Blvd. on Sunday.

At one point, multiple bikers aggressively approached the actor as he tried to run across the street to get away. He later was spotted consoling his crying daughter Mia, 12, who was in the car with him at the time.

“This situation highlights a larger issue of hooliganism on our streets and the need for effective law enforcement responses to such behavior. As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient,” the actor continued on Monday.

“I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety,” he went on. “We must address the underlying issues that lead to such disruptive behavior and ensure that our streets are safe for everyone. I urge city officials and law enforcement to take decisive action against such lawlessness and provide the necessary resources to prevent future occurrences.”

Ziering concluded his message by stating he’s “thankful for the support of my family, friends, and fans during this time.”

“It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital,” he added. “Happy new year.”

Billie Lourd feels mom Carrie Fisher’s ‘presence’ 7 years after death

May the force always be with Billie Lourd.

The “Scream Queens” star, 31, penned a heartfelt tribute to her mother, the late Carrie Fisher, on the seventh anniversary of her death.

Fisher and her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, both died within a day of each other in late December 2016.

Lourd posted a throwback photo of herself and the “Star Wars” actress playing on the beach via social media.

“Every anniversary brings a different iteration of my grief. Some infuse me with rage, some make me cry all day long, some make me feel dissociated and empty,” she wrote on Wednesday.

The “American Horror Story” alum added that some anniversaries make her “feel nothing” and “some make me feel guilty for feeling nothing.”

This year, Lourd noted that she woke up feeling “grateful — or griefull — if you will.”

“Grief has infused my life with a sense of appreciation I had never had before. It makes me soak up every moment of joy as if it were my last,” she wrote.

She further described how her “eyes welled up with tears of joy” when she held her daughter, Jackson, on Wednesday.

“I laughed at myself then cried more cause I was laughing. I felt my mom’s presence like the warmth of the sun on your skin on a hot summer day,” she continued.

“The kind of warmth where you unknowingly close your eyes and take a slow breath through your nose and grin,” Lourd added.

The “Booksmart” actress scribed that she “missed [her mom] every day, but the cliche is also true.”

“She is with me every day, she infuses my joyful moments with even more joy,” Lourd penned.

“As I tell my son, she lives in the stars — and she damn sure makes my life sparkle,” she concluded. “Sending my love to all my griefers out there. And hoping everyone can feel a little sparkle of griefull among all the feelings grief inevitably brings.”

Lourd also shares son Kingston, 3, with husband Austin Rydell.

Fisher died at the age of 60 on Dec. 27, 2016, after suffering a massive heart attack aboard a plane.

The “Singin’ in the Rain” icon passed away the next day from a stroke.

Earlier this year, Lourd honored her late mom when she was posthumously awarded with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

She donned a maxi dress that was painted with an image of Princess Leia, Fisher’s character from the famed “Star Wars” franchise.

Kelly Clarkson explains why Taylor Swift sends her gifts

Taylor Swift does more than drop Easter eggs after the re-release of her albums. The musician also sends flowers to Kelly Clarkson — after every single “Taylor’s Version” album drops.

The “American Idol” Season 1 winner, 41, revealed the sweet gesture in a new interview.

“You know what’s so funny? She just sent me flowers,” she told E! News. “She’s so nice. She did. She was like, ‘Every time I release something’—’cause she just did 1989. I got that really cute cardigan, too.”

In 2019, Clarkson suggested via X (then formerly known as Twitter) that the “Midnights” singer should re-record her work. At the time, Scooter Braun’s company Ithaca Holdings LLC acquired her former label Big Machine Label Group and obtained the rights to the masters for her first six studio albums.

Despite the advice, the “Kelly Clarkson Show” host insists Swift probably would have come up with that idea on her own too.

“I love how kind she is though,” Clarkson continued. “She’s a very smart businesswoman. So, she would have thought of that. But it just sucks when you see artists that you admire and you respect really wanting something and it’s special to them. You know if they’re going to find a loophole, you find a loophole. And she did it and literally is, like, the best-selling artist I feel like of all-time now.”

The mom of two went on to note that it’s “so cool to see a fanbase” like the Swifties really getting behind Swift, 33.

“She’s known for being such an incredible songwriter and the soundtrack to a lot of people’s lives and that’s her life. So, you should have the option of owning that,” she concluded.

Swift, meanwhile, is currently back on tour. After a brief break, she picked back up the Eras Tour concert in Argentina on Thursday night. However, it appears her new rumored beau, Travis Kelce, was not in attendance.

An insider close to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, told Page Six Wednesday that the athlete was traveling to see the pop star perform over the weekend. However, they didn’t specify which show he planned to attend.

Last month, Clarkson actually joked about Swift and Kelce’s romance, saying that the NFL panning to Swift at his games made it feel like she was watching a “Housewives” episode instead of football.

“It is hilarious how it is literally taking over the NFL for people [like me] who like watching sports,” she said at the time. “It’s like you’re watching gossip things. What about the [game] play?”

‘I felt really bad for him’

Johnny Depp’s first wife Lori Allison had some stern words about actress Amber Heard a year on from the pair’s highly publicized defamation trial.

Allison wed the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor in 1983 when she was 25 and he was 20, but the pair divorced just two years later citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Appearing on the “Popcorned Planet” podcast, the 65-year-old was asked to give her take on the 36-year-old actress.

Referring to Heard as “she who shall not be named” throughout her interview, Allison recalled really liking the “Aquaman” actress at the start of her romance with Depp.

“I had met her before, I’d been to parties at his house,” Allison recalled. “She seemed really nice and she was gorgeous, and what’s not to love?

“But as the time went by and I would hear things about her – she who shall not be named – he didn’t seem too happy all the time. I didn’t see him a lot so I can’t really say.”

“The things that affected me more were the things he said in court. I probably broke down several times because I felt really bad for him,” she added.

Calling her ex-husband “very private,” Allison said it was the right decision for Depp to “come out so wholeheartedly” in the defamation case.

“I thought it was either going to be an epic train wreck or it was going to go really well,” she added.

Allison appeared on the “Popcorned Planet” podcast, and was asked to give her take on the 36-year-old actress.

The former make-up artist said she would reach out to Depp’s pals from time to time to get updates on how the court case was going.

She added that sometimes, she would even “walk around crying because I was terrified for him.”

“I think it would’ve killed him, well maybe not, but it just broke my heart that somebody could do that to him,” she said of Heard.

“I’m no angel, I’ve done my share of s–tty things to people, but what she did was absolutely horrific, and if there were things that I could do to her that were legal, I would do them! I would.”

Heard was ordered to pay Depp more than $10 million in compensatory damages plus $350,000 in punitive damages for defaming him in a 2018 op-ed piece she wrote for the Washington Post.

The Post has reached out to Heard’s reps for comment.

Depp was awarded more than $10 million in damages after a jury determined that Heard had harmed his reputation with her allegations of domestic abuse.

Soon after, she sold her California home in an effort to pay off her debts. Prior to her time in Spain, Heard spent time in the Hamptons and Israel with her friends and daughter.

Heard has since asked the judge to toss the jury’s verdict. She claims that the judgment wasn’t supported by evidence.

For his part, Depp, who was in the UK when the verdict came down, said in a statement: “The jury gave me my life back.”

Royal family wears blue in first Easter since Queen Elizabeth’s death

Something blue.

King Charles and his family were spotted Sunday wearing blue at Windsor Castle as he and several other senior members of the royal family attended the first Easter church service since Queen Elizabeth’s passing in September.

Alongside Charles, 74, stood Queen Consort Camila, 75, and behind them walked the future king’s sister Princess Anne and brother, disgraced royal Prince Andrew, reports The Independent.

Prince Edward and his family trailed the senior royals followed by Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Bringing up the rear of the group were Princess Eugenie — who is pregnant — and her husband Jack Brooksbank.

The service was held at the 15th-century Windsor Castle which served as the final resting place for Charles’ mother and father as well as his grandparents.

In September, the Royal family revealed a new ledger stone was placed on the tomb.

“A ledger stone has been installed at the King George VI Memorial Chapel, following the interment of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth,” reads a tweet alongside a photo. “The King George VI Memorial Chapel sits within the walls of St George’s Chapel, Windsor.”

This is also Charles’ first service as the Supreme Governor of the Church of England.

The Easter service comes as Charles and Camila prepare for their coronation on May 6.

In the past, the then-Prince Charles issued a statement to the country — last year’s addressed the millions of displaced people “wounded by the past, fearful of the future,” however, the king has yet to release one as a reflection of his new station.

Keeping with his mother’s tradition, the future king and queen handed out Maundy money to 74 men and women as thanks for their outstanding Christian service.

The family outing comes after a brand new revelation that King Charles refused to put Meghan Markel on the royal family’s payroll.

Royal correspondent Robert Jobson made the revelation in his new book “Our King.”

Jobson claims the then-prince made the jab in 2016 when Harry announced his intention to marry the “Suits” star.

According to Jobson, Charles said he couldn’t bankroll Markel, 41, since he was already paying for Camila and William’s growing family.

“This infuriated Harry,” wrote Jobson, “When the Queen asked Charles why he hadn’t given in, he told her that he wasn’t a bank.”

Jobson theorized this was the inciting incident that led to Harry and Meghan leaving the royal family.

Pedro Pascal’s ‘violent’ coffee order goes viral

Pedro Pascal’s delightful encounter with a fan has gone viral on TikTok, but not just because he’s being an absolute sweetheart.

In the clip, the US-Chilean actor, 47, can be seen happily chatting with a fan on the street, before signing an autograph on an action figure from his hit Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.

But a closer look at the wholesome exchange reveals a ghastly detail about The Last Of Us star. That is, his Starbucks coffee order.

Look, we all have our own tastes when it comes to coffee. An extra shot, oat milk, half a Stevia.

But Pascal’s choice of brew is … Rare.

Pedro Pascal’s “violent” coffee order has gone viral.
@alexafromspace/TikTok

Zooming into the video, it becomes evident Pascal opts for six shots in his Venti-sized cup.

According to heathline.com, one shot of espresso is typically around 30–50ml, and contains roughly 63 mg of caffeine. Now, healthdirect.gov.au states it’s generally safe for adults to consume around 400mg a day, so Pascal is not veering into dangerous territory with his morning beverage (although he’s close).

Still, his decision to have six shots in a single cup has horrified the masses on social media, who took to the comments section of the video with concerns.

The actor ordered 6 shots of espresso.

“That is a violent amount of coffee,” wrote one user.

“Dude must have an iron gut,” said another.

“Daddy needs his coffee every morning to carry the entire world and a fandom on his shoulders,” said a third, referencing Pascal’s large fanbase. “OUR MAN IS CAFFEINATED,” another wrote.

It’s understandable why Pascal would need to be caffeinated to such a degree at the moment. The Game of Thrones actor is everywhere on streaming right now, with season three of The Mandalorian dropping earlier this month.

HBO’s video game adaptation The Last Of Us has proved a smash hit among fans, becoming one of the only shows to become a roaring success off the back of a popular video game.

Pascal plays the titular character Joel Miller, with fellow GoT alum Bella Ramsey co-starring as Ellie.
