Tiktoker faces backlash for selfie near Canadian dad slain at Starbucks

A TikToker who recorded a Canadian dad being fatally stabbed in front of his daughter and fiancée at a Starbucks is facing backlash after he allegedly took a selfie next to the victim’s body and smiled while filming the horrifying scene.

Alex Bodger shot a sickening video of Paul Stanley Schmidt being attacked outside the Vancouver coffee shop on Sunday after asking his alleged assailant to not to vape in front of his 3-year-old daughter, the Toronto Sun reported.

Bodger — who goes by Gora Pakora on TikTok — appeared to smirk when he shot the unfolding incident, according to the news outlet.

“This motherf— just died, bro. He just died, bro, holy f—!” he exclaimed, drawing the wrath of people who slammed him for capitalizing on a ghastly crime.

Bodger reportedly returned to the crime scene to smoke a cigarette the following day.

“This is the TikTok generation. I fear for our disgusting future,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another wrote, “I was so disgusted by his actions and words that I honestly was speechless… No emotion period.”

But Bodger told Global News that he was traumatized by the event.

“It’s not something you think you would see walking down the street in Vancouver on a Sunday,” Bodger told the outlet. “Every time I think about the situation I get this feeling in my chest which is pure fear.”

But according to one Twitter user, Bodger also took a selfie next to the victim’s body and even returned the following day to smoke at the crime scene.

The man later posted a video in which he tried to explain his actions — saying he tends to smile during “uncomfortable situations.”

“So I’m walking down the road, I thought I see a street fight … so I start running over there. I start videotaping and I see some blood an d so I just thought maybe there was a bloody nose or something,” he says in the video.

“My brain wasn’t allowing me to believe what was happening. And I knew he was dead, but at the same time, this my first time ever experiencing this right so like, my brain is just like ‘he’s dead’ so I start screaming,” Bodger says.

“The murderer is standing right there, all that’s going through my head is like, ‘Holy f—, I’m standing right here screaming he’s dead … what if he come at me and f— kills me.’ But I’m in so much shock just standing there,” he continues.

Bodger then goes on to explain his “controversial” smile.

The brutal attack was caught in a horrifying video captured by the bystander.

The suspect, 32-year-old Inderdeep Singh Gosa (pictured), has been charged with murder.

“I was so uncomfortable. I didn’t know what just happened. That’s how I always am in uncomfortable situations,” he says. “I put a little bit of a smile on my face. I’m sorry for the people that it pissed off.”

The TikToker then bizarrely goes on to say: “Yeah, this s— (the stabbing), it doesn’t faze me too much. I’ll just say human life, to me, the way I look at it, if I don’t know you, is meaningless … he’s dead. What can we do now?”

The suspect, 32-year-old Inderdeep Singh Gosa, was arrested inside the Starbucks and was charged with second-degree murder.

Schmidt’s mother, Kathy Schmidt, said she was told the suspect attacked her son after he asked him not to vape in front of 3-year-old Erica.

The 37-year-old dad’s fiancée, Ashley Umali, was getting drinks at the time of the bloody attack but witnessed her partner’s last breaths.

“This is so horribly wrong what happened. He was just trying to protect his daughter. I’m angry and I’m sad,” Schmidt said. “It all started because he was vaping beside the baby. Ashley’s in shock — she watched the whole thing. She’s so devastated.”

The family and police have urged people not to share the shocking footage of the savage attack.

Pedro Pascal’s ‘violent’ coffee order goes viral

Pedro Pascal’s delightful encounter with a fan has gone viral on TikTok, but not just because he’s being an absolute sweetheart.

In the clip, the US-Chilean actor, 47, can be seen happily chatting with a fan on the street, before signing an autograph on an action figure from his hit Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.

But a closer look at the wholesome exchange reveals a ghastly detail about The Last Of Us star. That is, his Starbucks coffee order.

Look, we all have our own tastes when it comes to coffee. An extra shot, oat milk, half a Stevia.

But Pascal’s choice of brew is … Rare.

Zooming into the video, it becomes evident Pascal opts for six shots in his Venti-sized cup.

According to heathline.com, one shot of espresso is typically around 30–50ml, and contains roughly 63 mg of caffeine. Now, healthdirect.gov.au states it’s generally safe for adults to consume around 400mg a day, so Pascal is not veering into dangerous territory with his morning beverage (although he’s close).

Still, his decision to have six shots in a single cup has horrified the masses on social media, who took to the comments section of the video with concerns.

“That is a violent amount of coffee,” wrote one user.

“Dude must have an iron gut,” said another.

“Daddy needs his coffee every morning to carry the entire world and a fandom on his shoulders,” said a third, referencing Pascal’s large fanbase. “OUR MAN IS CAFFEINATED,” another wrote.

It’s understandable why Pascal would need to be caffeinated to such a degree at the moment. The Game of Thrones actor is everywhere on streaming right now, with season three of The Mandalorian dropping earlier this month.

HBO’s video game adaptation The Last Of Us has proved a smash hit among fans, becoming one of the only shows to become a roaring success off the back of a popular video game.

Pascal plays the titular character Joel Miller, with fellow GoT alum Bella Ramsey co-starring as Ellie.

I’m a Starbucks barista — We’ve been out of ‘espresso and dignity’ for 2 months

Where have you bean?

A Starbucks barista on TikTok is claiming her store has been out of espresso for two months — meaning that mochas, cappuccinos and lattes are a no-go.

TikTok user @toreeisnotdead took to the social media platform last week to share her “help” message in a clip that has served more than 325,000 views.

In the video, the barista shows herself standing at the register, with a sign above her head that reads “No espresso but…,” along with a big red stop sign.

Below the stop sign, the store lists the items available for purchase, such as cold brew, chai tea, iced tea, refreshers and more.

“Pistachio your way,” but apparently not espresso any way at this Starbucks store.

“Happy 2 month anniversary of still no espresso 🤎,” the TikToker wrote of her store in white text over the clip. She appears to be based in New Jersey.

The Post reached out to Starbucks and the TikTok creator for comment.

In another shot, the barista shows a long tally of customers reportedly asking, “Omg it’s still broken?” On a white board, a list of items the store is allegedly out of include “espresso, dignity and cinnamon.”

In the comments section, several employees and customers offered their sorrowful stories of missing restaurant items or non-working equipment.

“One time our water was down and all we could serve was food😭,” one user laughed.

Another alleged, “My Starbucks before I moved had no espresso over Christmas holiday shopping (inside target) and in late Jan still broken. I still think about them🫡.”

“Wow the Starbucks I went to last weekend ONLY had espresso drinks and cold brew,” someone else disclosed.

Another viewer divulged, “Once both our coffee brewer and our espresso machine was down at the same time for about a week 😪.”

Others found the barista’s misfortune amusing, with one user even joking about “realistic barista TikTok.”

“Finally on realistic barista tok,” the person typed.

A different user confessed, “As a barista that isn’t religious, i’m praying for y’all-.”

The store has a tally going for the number of times people reportedly asked about espresso drinks.

In another video posted to her TikTok account, @toreeisnotdead claimed that a few days earlier, the store had also run out of coffee.

This is not the first time Starbucks baristas have taken to TikTok to air their struggles. In January, one barista revealed she mistook a customer for a dog when taking an order at the drive-thru, while another shared she had been making decaf coffee for three months instead of serving up the regular brew.

Starbucks insider shares where the popular chain got its name

Next time you visit Starbucks, remember that multiple different names were considered for the coffee chain – and in an alternate universe, you’re drinking a “Cargo House” vanilla bean frappe.

That’s just one of the names almost used by executives, who borrowed the name Starbucks from an unusual but much-beloved source.

When the company was in its early days, there were several potential names on the list, said co-founder Gordon Bowker in an interview with the Seattle Times.

The founders debated giving the business a coffee-centric name but also veered into literary territory.

“We were thinking of all kinds of names and came desperately close to calling it Cargo House,” Bowker told the outlet.

He also said that it was a good thing the company passed on the name, which “would have been a terrible, terrible mistake.”

While trying to think of “power words” that started with a hard st- sound, someone brought out an old mining map in a meeting.

A small town in the Cascades called Starbo caught Bowker’s eye.

He said he “immediately” associated the town with Starbuck, which is the name of the level-headed first mate in Herman Melville’s masterpiece Moby-Dick.

Obviously, it was that moniker that stuck with the brand, but Bowker detailed another word from the book that was almost used instead.

The founders debated using the name of the whaling ship, Pequod, instead of the name of the first mate.

Someone recalled that Starbuck loved coffee in the book Moby-Dick, but they were corrected.

“Then somebody said to me, well no, it wasn’t that he loved coffee in the book, it was that he loved coffee in the movie,” Bowker recalled.

“Moby-Dick has nothing to do with coffee as far as I know,” Bowker confessed. “It was only coincidental that the sound seemed to make sense.”

Of course, the company’s siren logo further demonstrates its close ties to the sea.

While you might not think of Starbucks as a particularly nautical company, armed with this new knowledge, you can effortlessly justify an iced coffee as a beach or poolside beverage all summer long.
