Summary

Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

All returning to the roles they originated, Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman, now balancing his duties as both the King of Atlantis and a new father; Patrick Wilson is Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and his nemesis, who must now step into a new role as his brother’s reluctant ally; Amber Heard is Mera, Atlantis’ Queen and mother of the heir to the throne; Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is Black Manta, committed more than ever to avenge his father’s death by destroying Aquaman, his family and Atlantis; and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, a fierce leader and mother with the heart of a warrior. Directed by Wan, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is produced by Peter Safran, Wan, and Rob Cowan. The executive producers are Galen Vaisman and Walter Hamada.

The screenplay is by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, from a story by James Wan & David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Jason Momoa & Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, based on characters from DC, Aquaman created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger.

Joining Wan behind the camera is his sterling team of “Aquaman” artisans: director of photography Don Burgess (“The Conjuring 2”), production designer Bill Brzeski (“Jumanji: The Next Level”), editor Kirk Morri (“Furious 7”), composer Rupert Gregson-Williams (“Wonder Woman”) and music supervisor is Michelle Silverman (“Malignant”). ‘I felt really bad for him’

Johnny Depp’s first wife Lori Allison had some stern words about actress Amber Heard a year on from the pair’s highly publicized defamation trial.

Allison wed the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor in 1983 when she was 25 and he was 20, but the pair divorced just two years later citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Appearing on the “Popcorned Planet” podcast, the 65-year-old was asked to give her take on the 36-year-old actress.

Referring to Heard as “she who shall not be named” throughout her interview, Allison recalled really liking the “Aquaman” actress at the start of her romance with Depp.

“I had met her before, I’d been to parties at his house,” Allison recalled. “She seemed really nice and she was gorgeous, and what’s not to love?

“But as the time went by and I would hear things about her – she who shall not be named – he didn’t seem too happy all the time. I didn’t see him a lot so I can’t really say.”

“The things that affected me more were the things he said in court. I probably broke down several times because I felt really bad for him,” she added.

Calling her ex-husband “very private,” Allison said it was the right decision for Depp to “come out so wholeheartedly” in the defamation case.

“I thought it was either going to be an epic train wreck or it was going to go really well,” she added.

The former make-up artist said she would reach out to Depp’s pals from time to time to get updates on how the court case was going.

She added that sometimes, she would even “walk around crying because I was terrified for him.”

“I think it would’ve killed him, well maybe not, but it just broke my heart that somebody could do that to him,” she said of Heard.

“I’m no angel, I’ve done my share of s–tty things to people, but what she did was absolutely horrific, and if there were things that I could do to her that were legal, I would do them! I would.”

The Post has reached out to Heard’s reps for comment.

Depp was awarded more than $10 million in damages after a jury determined that Heard had harmed his reputation with her allegations of domestic abuse.

Soon after, she sold her California home in an effort to pay off her debts. Prior to her time in Spain, Heard spent time in the Hamptons and Israel with her friends and daughter. 

Heard has since asked the judge to toss the jury’s verdict. She claims that the judgment wasn’t supported by evidence.

For his part, Depp, who was in the UK when the verdict came down, said in a statement: “The jury gave me my life back.”

Mission NGO defends Johnny Depp amid Amber Heard allegations

A women’s abuse group voiced support for Johnny Depp Friday — joining a growing chorus of the actor’s female friends and co-stars who have defended him amid claims he physically and sexually abused ex Amber Heard.

Mission NGO, a non-profit that fights violence against women and children worldwide, expressed “compassion” for the 58-year-old “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor.

“As women, as mothers, we have the duty and the responsibility to educate our sons and daughters … without any gender distinction, in order to prevent violence,” Valeria Altobelli, the group’s president, said in a statement.

“[It is with] deep respect for the victims of domestic abuses that we have to affirm … our compassion for Johnny Depp in this bad page of his personal history.”

The group didn’t elaborate, or immediately return a request for comment Friday.

The statement came a day after music producer Bruce Witkin testified that Depp used drugs and alcohol to cope with emotional pain. Depp has previously testified that his mom, Betty Sue Palmer, physically and psychologically abused him.

On Thursday, singer Courtney Love and actress Eva Green also defended Depp as a caring person — despite Heard’s testimony that he threatened to kill her and once broke her nose in a jealous rage.

Love posted a video on Twitter describing how Depp rushed to save her from a drug overdose at a nightclub in the 90s and was sweet to her daughter, Frances Bean.

“I don’t really wanna make judgments publicly, but I just want to tell you that Johnny gave me CPR in 1995 when I overdosed outside the Viper Room with Sal. Johnny, when I was on crack and Frances was having to suffer through that with social workers, wrote her a four-page letter that she’s never showed me on her 13th birthday. He didn’t really know me,” she said.

Green, meanwhile, said she had no doubt Depp will “emerge” victorious in the trial.

“I have no doubt Johnny will emerge with his good name and wonderful heart revealed to the world, and life will be better than it ever was for him and his family,” Green, who starred with Depp in the 2012 fantasy “Dark Shadows,” wrote on Instagram.

Other female celebrities — including Sia, Wynona Ryder, Helena Bonham and Penélope Cruz — spoke out on Depp’s behalf during his UK libel trial in 2020.

“The idea that he is an incredibly violent person is the farthest thing from the Johnny I knew and loved,” Ryder, a former girlfriend of Depp, said in 2020. “He was never, never violent towards me. He has never been violent or abusive towards anybody I have seen.”

Cruz added, “I’ve seen Johnny in so many situations and he is always kind to everyone around. He is one of the most generous people I know,” she said.

The musician Sia also defended Depp in a tweet at the time, writing “Just showing my public support for Johnny Depp.

“I mean, I’d love him to get clean and stop with the jewellery, but he is clearly the victim after hearing those tapes.”

In the UK case, Depp sued the publisher of the UK Sun’s over a headline calling him a “wife-beater” and lost.

Here’s why Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose skipped his wedding with Amber Heard

 

Johnny Depp, 58, has revealed surprising information about his wedding to Amber Heard and the impact it had on his daughter Lily-Rose Depp. On Wednesday, the actor testified in his defamation trial against his now-ex-wife in Fairfax, Virginia, and allegedly revealed that she and the 22-year-old actress and model, whom he shares with former Vanessa Paradis, did not get along.

“Lily-Rose did not come to the wedding. She and Ms. Heard were not on particularly great terms for several reasons,” he said during his testimony, according to PEOPLE. Johnny and Amber married in February 2015 on his own island in the Bahamas, and he allegedly told the court that she and several of her friends used drugs, including a “communal bag of MDMA,” during their wedding celebration.

Johnny, who is also the father of a 20-year-old son named Jack, allegedly went on to explain that he and Amber did not have a prenuptial agreement and that subsequent conversations about acquiring one led them to disagree. He also allegedly said that he stayed in his turbulent marriage with Amber until 2017 because his “father stayed in his abusive marriage.”

However, Johnny’s statement follows his 2019 lawsuit against Amber over an op-ed she published for the Washington Post in 2018. She talked about surviving domestic abuse in it, and although she didn’t mention Johnny by name, he thinks it was implied, and his successful acting career has suffered as a result. In the lawsuit, he seeks USD 50 million.

Amber Heard accuses Johnny Depp of sexual assault during defamation trial, latter calls claim ‘fictitious’

 

Amber Heard’s attorneys have accused her ex-husband, Johnny Depp of sexual assault, while the star fights defamation claims against her. Depp, 58, is suing Heard, 35, over a 2018 op-ed she penned for the Washington Post on surviving domestic abuse, despite the fact that she never referenced Depp by name in the piece. Opening remarks for the libel trial, which is anticipated to last six weeks, started on Tuesday inside the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia, with both Heard and Depp present.

As per PEOPLE, during the hearing, which is being carried live on Court TV, Heard’s attorney Ben Rottenborn said that evidence would reveal that Depp subjected her to domestic violence in “many forms,” including physical, emotional, verbal, and psychological assault. Shortly after, Rottenborn stated that Depp had a three-day, alcohol-fueled blackout in Australia in 2015, towards the end of their marriage, during which Depp “abused and sexually assaulted Amber, all because she had the courage to confront him about his drinking.”

Interestingly, a spokesperson for Depp said about the latest allegation, “These fictitious claims were never made at the onset of Amber’s allegations in 2016, and only advantageously surfaced years later once she was sued for defamation after noting in her op-ed that she was a victim of ‘sexual violence.’ “

Meanwhile, Depp and Heard, who met while filming The Rum Diary in 2011, ended their relationship in May 2016 after she filed for a domestic violence restraining order against him, accusing him of abusing her. Depp rejected the allegations, and the former couple reached an out-of-court settlement in August 2016.
