Samsung Galaxy S23 Series to Get One UI 6.0 Beta in Third Week of July: Report

Samsung Galaxy S23 series with Android 13-based One UI 5.1 skin was released during the Galaxy Unpacked event in February this year. Now, the Suwon headquartered smartphone brand is reportedly gearing up to release its One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy S23 series in the third week of July. The latest version of One UI is anticipated to reach other compatible Samsung smartphones and tablets “soon thereafter.” The One UI 6.0 update is said to be based on Android 14. The Android 14 Beta 3, the latest testing version of Google’s operating system, was expanded to more users this month.

As reported by SamMobile, Samsung is planning to release the first beta build of its custom skin —One UI 6.0 —based on Android 14 for the Galaxy S23 series in the third week of July. The One UI 6.0 beta would be rolled out to other eligible devices “soon thereafter.” If past updates by Samsung are any indication, the public release of the latest One UI skin can be expected before the end of this year.

The Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ulta are currently running One UI 5.1 based on Android 13. Besides the latest iteration of the Galaxy S series, last year’s Galaxy S22 flagships and Galaxy S21 series as well as the Galaxy S21 FE handsets could be eligible to receive the One UI 6.0 update. Pixel Tablet Leaked Screenshots Show User Interface, Wallpapers Days After Pixel Fold UI Surfaces Online

Google Pixel Tablet is expected to make its debut sometime in 2023, according to the timeline specified by the company last year. The first Pixel branded tablet could be launched by the company in the coming months and was recently tipped to ship with an included charging dock. Days after details of the company’s rumoured Pixel Fold handset surfaced online alongside with leaked renders showing the design of the foldable phone, screenshots of the user interface and wallpapers for a device that is expected to debut as the Pixel Tablet have surfaced online.

Tipster Evan Blass (Twitter: @evleaks) has leaked images of what appear to be screenshots of the home screen of the Pixel Tablet. The eight images — four in dark mode and four in light mode — show wallpapers of birds’ wings in the background, as Google’s Material You theming engine for Android 13 affects the colours and accents of the icons and widgets on the tablet.

The Pixel Tablet is expected to ship with an optimised version of Android 13 for larger displays, as the interface shows the device’s home screen with its icons and widgets arranged according to the “landscape” layout. Last year, Google announced Android 12L as an optimised version of Android that was optimised for larger displays such as tablets — or even foldable phones.

While it is possible that these leaked screenshots were captured from a Pixel Fold smartphone or the inner display of a Pixel Tablet, one of the responses to Blass’ tweet points out that its likely to be a tablet as there is no phone icon on the home screen. Recently leaked images for the Pixel Fold hint at a slightly taller interface for Google’s foldable phone compared to these screenshots.

Last week, Blass leaked images of the Pixel Fold that showed the handset sporting a fairly large cover display with large bezels, especially on the inner display. That image showed a different layout compared to these new images, which show the search bar to the left of the dock. Meanwhile, the images of the Pixel Fold that were previously spotted online show a thicker search bar above the dock.

In April, it was reported that Google will launch its first Pixel-branded tablet in four colourways and it would be housed in an aluminium body with a nano-ceramic finish. The tablet is speculated to run on Android 13 out-of-the-box and be powered by a Tensor G2 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM. The tablet could also ship with a Charging Speaker Dock, according to the report.

The smartphone is powered by a Unisoc T606 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It runs on Android 12 out of the box and has been promised to get two major OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates.

For optics, the Nokia G11 Plus packs a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel main camera with autofocus and a 2-megapixel fixed-focus depth camera on the back. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel fixed-focus camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Redmi Note 10S, Poco F2 Pro Are Getting Android 13-Based MIUI 14 Update: All Details

Xiaomi’s Android 13-based MIUI 14 OS update is now rolling out on Redmi Note 10S and Poco F2 Pro for users across the globe and EEA regions, respectively. Meanwhile, the MIUI 14 update is also rolling out on Poco F2 Pro in European Economic Area (EEA) region only. The handset was launched in 2020 with Android 10-based MIUI 11 on board. The latest OS update brings the same modifications as on Redmi Note 10S, including enhanced performance and battery life.

The POCO F2 Pro MIUI 14 update bears firmware version MIUI 14.0.2.0.TKLMIXM and includes February 2023 security patch.

For both smartphones, the update is first rolling out the MI pilots, followed by a stable version launch for all MI users using Redmi Note 10S and Poco F2 Pro by the end of March, and can be downloaded using MIUI Downloader.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Gets Android 13-Based MIUI 14 Update in India: How to Download

Xiaomi 12 Pro is receiving an update to Android 13-based MIUI 14 in India. Poco X5 Pro 5G Rolling Out MIUI Upgrade in India, More Poco Devices to Follow Soon: Details

Poco X5 Pro 5G, launched in February 2023, is getting the Android 13 upgrade this month with MIUI 14 on top. A few days back, Xiaomi announced global launch of the Android 13-based MIUI 14 upgrade at the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona. While it included the names of major Xiaomi and Redmi devices will be rolling out the update in India, Poco has released its list for smartphones to get MIUI 14 upgrade based on Android 13 recently. The Poco X5 Pro 5G, priced at Rs. 20,999 in India, will be getting the upgrade in Q1 2023, while other Poco devices will receive this software revamp throughout the year, as mentioned in Poco’s roadmap.

Meanwhile, in the second quarter of this year, between April and June, Poco F3 GT, the Poco X3 Pro, the Poco M5, the Poco M4 5G, and the Poco C55 are scheduled to get the MIUI 14 revamp.

Later between July and September — the Poco M4 Pro, the Poco X4 Pro 5G, and the Poco M4 Pro 5G — will also receive the software update.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Receiving Android 13-Based OxygenOS 13 Update in India: How to Download

OnePlus Nord CE 2, which was launched last year in February with Android 11 out-of-the-box, is getting updated to the latest Android 13-based OxygenOS 13 in India. The latest update is currently rolling out to users who have participated in the company’s open beta program. It will be rolled out to customers widely in a phased manner, according to OnePlus. The OxygenOS 13 update for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 brings performance improvements, new security and privacy features, home widgets, and OnePlus’ new Aquamorphic Design.

According to a post shared by OnePlus on its Community page, the Android 13-based OxygenOS 13 update for OnePlus Nord CE 2 smartphones in India will first roll out to users who enrolled themselves in the company’s Open Beta Programme. The update comes with new design themes, customisation features like Aquamorphic Design theme colours, home screen world clock widget, Quantum Animation Engine 4.0 as well as optimised widgets, fonts, and system icons.

The Android 13 update for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 also brings enhanced security and privacy that adds an automatic pixelation feature for chat screenshots, according to OnePlus. It also comes with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption support for files on the handset.

The latest update has also improved the system speed, stability, battery life, and app experience and upgrades to HyperBoost GPA 4.0 for gaming to reduce power consumption. Additionally, it also features redesigned media playback control, optimised Quick Settings, and features like the Sidebar Toolbox floating window.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4, Galaxy S22 Series, More Receiving One UI 5.1 Update: Reports

Samsung’s One UI 5.1 software update was unveiled earlier this month during the first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year that saw the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. The update doesn’t bring major UI changes compared to the One UI 5.0 update. However, it includes the Expert RAW feature, which enables users to take high-quality images. The South Korean tech giant has reportedly begun rolling out the One UI 5.1 update for its other flagship Galaxy models. The foldable Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 are among the first Samsung handset to get this update.

According to a GSMArena report, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, along with the Galaxy S22 series have started receiving the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 update.

Meanwhile, SamMobile reports that the older Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S20 lineups have also started receiving One UI 5.1 update. OnePlus 11 5G Confirmed to Get 4 Years of Android, 5 Years of Security Updates

OnePlus 11 5G is all set to launch in India on February 7 at the Cloud 11 event. The Shenzhen company already debuted this smartphone in China earlier this month. It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip — a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It runs on Android 13 with ColorOS 13 skin on top. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has now revealed that this smartphone will receive 4 years of Android version updates and 5 years of security updates.

Lau announced on Friday that the OnePlus 11 5G will be the company’s first flagship smartphone to support 4 years of Android version updates and 5 years of security updates. This announcement could imply that OnePlus 11 5G users will be getting Android 14, Android 15, Android 16, and Android 17 versions via OTA updates in the future.

The OnePlus 11 5G has already been launched in China and is set to debut in India on February 7. A recent report claims that this smartphone will be offered in two configuration options — 8GB RAM + 256 storage and 16GB RAM + 256GB storage. The 16GB RAM variant is tipped to cost Rs. 61,999.

Google Pixel 7 Supposedly Getting Dual eSIM Support With Android 13 Beta Update: Report

Google Pixel 7 users have seemingly started receiving dual eSIM support with the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update. The Pixel smartphones have supported the use of a single eSIM along with a physical SIM card for a while. This new update is said to allow users to ditch their physical SIM cards and have two eSIM profiles active simultaneously. The Pixel 7 series is expected to get stable dual eSIM support in a couple of months. So, we can expect more beta users to soon receive this feature.

Esper Senior Technical Editor Mishaal Rahman (Twitter: @MishaalRahman) spotted a beta tester who had received dual eSIM support on their Pixel 7. This device was said to be running on the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 version. A couple of other users also mentioned that dual eSIM support was activated on their Pixel 7.

Rahman believes that the Pixel 7 was already capable of supporting dual eSIM profiles. Google could have released a server-side update for the SIM Manager app that comes with the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2. Users were previously allowed to register multiple eSIM profiles. However, only a single one was allowed to be active at a time.

Google Germany had reportedly previously mentioned that it plans to bring dual eSIM support for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in March 2023. Rahman had recently claimed that Google may be working on a new feature that would enable users to easily transfer an eSIM profile from an old Android phone to a new one.

A new system property could also allow users to convert a physical SIM card from an old handset to an eSIM in a new phone. Android currently does not include a feature for transferring an eSIM profile to a new device.
