Redmi A3 Said to Surface on BIS Website Hinting at Imminent Launch in India

Redmi A3 could be launched in India soon, as the successor to the company’s affordable Redmi A2 model that was launched in May with a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC. The alleged Redmi A3 has previously appeared on websites including NBTC.

Tipster TMKTECH (@Tmktechfamily) posted screenshots of the purported listing of the Redmi A3 on the BIS website. As per the leak, the handset carrying model number 23129RN51H has appeared on the BIS site. The listing suggests Redmi and Poco brand names for the handset, indicating that Poco could launch a smartphone under its brand name in different regions as a rebranded version of the Redmi A3.

It’s worth noting that Redmi is yet to confirm the development of a Redmi A2 successor. This purported handset has reportedly been spotted on the NBTC, IMDA, and EEC websites earlier with model number 23129RN51X. It is expected to come in several variants.

The Redmi A2 was launched in May with a starting price tag of Rs. 5,999 for the base 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant. The 2GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 6,499, whereas the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model is priced at Rs. 7,499.

The Redmi A2 runs on Android 13 and features a 6.52-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) LCD screen with 120Hz touch sampling rate. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC, with up to 4GB of RAM. With the virtual RAM functionality, the available memory can be expanded up to 7GB. It has a dual rear camera unit comprising an 8-megapixel primary sensor and a QVGA secondary camera. Redmi Note 13 4G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G specifications have been leaked online. The leak comes days ahead of the Chinese smartphone maker’s scheduled launch date for the Redmi Note 13 5G series in India on January 4. Tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414) shared a detailed list of specifications for the Redmi Note 13 4G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The phones are expected to launch globally soon, even though the company has not yet announced these LTE models. The design renders of the 4G models were also shown in the leak. The rear camera units are arranged in individual units alongside an LED unit on the top left corner of the back panel without a distinct camera module. The base model is seen in black, blue and green colour options, while the Pro 4G model is seen in black, grey and purple shades.

Ambhore also stated in a post on X that the Redmi Note 13 5G models are expected to receive three years of major Android upgrades, that is, up until Android 16, both in India and globally. The phones are also said to support four years of security updates. He noted that these models are not likely to get the Xiaomi HyperOS update “anytime soon”.

Redmi Note 13 4G specifications, features (expected)

The base Note 13 4G model is expected to launch with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) 8-bit AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, 50,00,000:1 contrast ratio, 1200 nits peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate and 20:9 aspect ratio along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset paired with Adreno 610 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Similar to the 5G variant, the rumoured 4G model is also tipped to boot Android 13-based MIUI 14 out-of-the-box.

For optics, the phone is expected to carry a 1/1.67-inch 108-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro shooter at the back. This model is likely to be equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra SoC paired Mali G57 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage. 

The Pro model is expected to feature a 1/1.4-inch 200-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. The phone is said to share other camera unit specifications, including the front camera, OS and battery details with the base model. The phone is also expected to feature a similar IP rating, audio, security and network connectivity. However, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G is said to support 67W wired fast charging. The model is also reportedly likely to weigh 187g and measure 161.1mm x 74.95mm x 7.98mm in size, according to details shared by the tipster.

Poco X6 Series India Launch Seemingly Teased by Poco India Head Himanshu Tandon

Redmi Note 13 Pro Price in India Tipped Ahead of Scheduled January 4 Launch in the Country

Redmi Note 13 Pro was launched in China in September this year alongside the Redmi Note 13 and Redmi Note 13 Pro+. The Redmi Note 13 series of smartphones are set to launch in India on January 4. The Indian variants of the phones are expected to offer similar specifications as their Chinese counterparts. Earlier this month, the expected price of the handsets in European markets surfaced online. Now a tipster has suggested the price of the Redmi Note 13 Pro in India.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) suggested in a post on X that the Redmi Note 13 Pro will be priced in India at Rs. 32,999 for its 12GB + 256GB variant. He did not add whether the phone will be available in other configurations in the country. The prices of the base Redmi Note 13 and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, the other two models in the series which will launch alongside the Pro model, have also not been tipped.

In China, the Redmi Note 13 Pro starts at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 17,400) for its 8GB + 128GB option. It is also available for purchase in four other RAM and storage variants – 8GB + 256GB,  12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB, which are priced respectively at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 19,700), CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs. 22,000), CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 23,100) and CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs. 24,300). It is offered in Black, Blue, Silver, and White colour options.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro features a 6.67-inch 1.5K full-HD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It ships with Android 13-based MIUI 14 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC.

Poco M6 5G Price in India Leaked Ahead of December 22 Launch; Processor Details Confirmed

Poco M6 5G is confirmed to launch in India on December 22. It will join the Poco M6 Pro 5G, which was launched in India in May this year. However, on the Flipkart microsite, the handset is touted to be the “most affordable” 5G phone, suggesting yet again that the phone will be a budget 5G offering.

This is in line with an earlier leak that claimed that the phone will launch as a rebranded Redmi 13C 5G, which is also backed by the same SoC. So far, social media teasers, as well as the Flipkart microsite, also reveal that the Poco M6 5G will be offered in two colour options – Galactic Black and Orion Blue.

Notably, the Redmi 13C 5G launched in India on December 6, is offered in Startrail Black, Startrail Green and Satrtrail Silver colourways. It is available in three configurations – 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB, which are priced respectively at Rs. 9,999, Rs. 11,499 and Rs. 13,499. The latest leaked Poco M6 5G teaser suggests that it will be priced lower than the Redmi 13C 5G.

The Redmi 13C 5G comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.2 inbuilt storage. Xiaomi to Rollout HyperOS Update for Several Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco Smartphones in Q1 2024

Xiaomi announced in October this year that it will replace its MIUI OS with HyperOS and retire the older OS skin after its almost 13-year-long run. The new HyperOS UI was first introduced with the Xiaomi 14 series. The company also revealed its plan to introduce the HyperOS developer version to other Xiaomi and Redmi handsets in China. Now, the Chinese OEM has confirmed the Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco models that will receive the HyperOS developer version update globally.

In a post on X, Xiaomi confirmed that several smartphones and a tablet will receive the HyperOS update globally within the first quarter of 2024. The firm assured that those who signed up for the developer beta users will receive over-the-air (OTA) updates for the stable version. Among the models that will receive the HyperOS skin in Q1 2024 are Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12S, and Xiaomi Pad 6.

Simultaneously, Poco announced that the Poco F5 will be the first model from the brand to get the Xiaomi HyperOS update. Like the aforementioned Xiaomi and Redmi models, eligible Poco F5 users will also receive routine OTA updates. The brand added that it will announce other models that will also receive a similar update at a later date.

HyperOS is touted to be a human-centric operating system designed to align seamlessly with personal devices, cars, and smart home products to offer users an updated smart ecosystem experience. It integrates an AI subsystem and cross-device connectivity, alongside AI-backed enhancements to other features.

Redmi 13R 5G features a 6.74-inch HD+ (1,600 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz and that is protected by Gorilla Glass. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 onboard storage. It ships with Android 13-based MIUI 14.

In the camera department, the Redmi 13R 5G includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an unspecified secondary camera in the back. It gets a 5-megapixel front camera sensor placed in a centred waterdrop notch at the top of the display.

Xiaomi has packed a 5,000mAh battery in the Redmi 13R 5G that supports 18W wired charging via a USB Type-C port. For security, it carries a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The handset comes with a micro-SD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack. It weighs 192 grams and measures 168mm x 78mm x 8.09mm in size.
