Redmi Note 13 5G Series HyperOS Update Based on Android 14 Begins Rolling Out in India

Redmi Note 13 5G series is all set to receive the HyperOS update in India. The company announced the development on Friday, confirming that the base model along with the Redmi Note 13 Pro, and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ models will all get the update to switch to Xiaomi’s latest Android 14-based user interface. Notably, the Chinese smartphone brand introduced the HyperOS user interface in India in February this year. The new interface will run on the company’s smartphones, smart home devices, and electric vehicles.

The company announced the rollout of HyperOS via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. According to the smartphone maker, the HyperOS update is being rolled out to the Redmi Note 13 series users in the country. However, it might take a couple of days before all users get the update. The Redmi Note 12 series is also expected to get the update in the future.

HyperOS will bring new features to the Redmi Note 13 5G series, including lock screen customisation, a new control centre, updated icons and fonts. The interface has been significantly revamped as well. New productivity features such as a Workstation Mode for tablets, and interconnectivity features for the Xiaomi ecosystem have also been included with the latest update.

For instance, users can now view their phone’s screen on their tablet. The Xiaomi Smart Hub also allows users to check all the smart home devices installed in the home and acts as a unified control centre.

In an update, Xiaomi earlier revealed the list of smartphones which were eligible for the HyperOS update in Q2 2024 (April – June). The list of eligible smartphones includes the Xiaomi 11 Lite, Xiaomi 11i, Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, Xiaomi 11T Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 10, Redmi K50i, Redmi 12, Redmi 11 Prime, along with the Redmi 13C series and Redmi Note 11 series. Apart from these, the Xiaomi Pad 5 was also confirmed to get the update.

Meanwhile Xiaomi sub-brand Poco has also released the list of eligible smartphones which will receive an update to HyperOS in the same period. These smartphones include the Poco F4, Poco M4 Pro, Poco C65, Poco M6, and Poco X6 Neo.

Redmi Note 13 5G series — comprising the Redmi Note 13 5G, Note 13 Pro 5G, and Note 13 Pro+ 5G — was launched in India on Thursday. The company’s latest models sport 6.67-inch full-HD+ AMOLED screens and are equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G comes in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB configurations that cost Rs. 25,999 and Rs. 27,999, while a 12GB+256GB model is priced at Rs. 29,999. It will be sold in Arctic White, Coral Purple, and Midnight Black colour options.

On the other hand, the top-of-the-line Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is priced at Rs. 31,999 for the 8GB+256GB storage model, while the 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants are priced at Rs. 33,999 and Rs. 35,999, respectively. The handset is available in Fusion Black, Fusion Purple, and Fusion White colourways.

The handsets will be available for purchase on January 10 via Mi.com, Flipkart, and retail outlets. The company is offering a bank discount or exchange bonus of Rs. 1,000 on the Redmi Note 13 5G, and a Rs. 2,000 discount or exchange bonus on the Redmi Note 13 Pro or Note 13 Pro+ models, for ICICI Bank card transactions. 

Redmi Note 13 5G specifications

The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi Note 13 5G runs on Android 13 with the company’s MIUI 14 skin on top. It sports a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, support for 1,920Hz pulse width modulation (PWM dimming), a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The handset runs on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chip with a Mali-G57 GPU paired with up to 12GB of RAM.

For photos and videos, the Redmi Note 13 5G features a 108-megapixel primary rear camera with an f/1.7 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. It has a 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front for taking selfies and video calls.

Redmi has equipped the handset with up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 inbuilt storage. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, e-compass, and a proximity sensor. It also has an infrared blaster to control various appliances and devices.

The Redmi Note 13 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged at 33W. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip while the Note 13 Pro+ has a Dimensity 7200-Ultra SoC — both phones are equipped with up to 12GB of RAM.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Note 13 Pro+ 5G are equipped with a 200-megapixel primary camera with a f/1.65 aperture and OIS, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. Like the standard Redmi Note 13 5G model, these phones also sport a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

You get up to 256GB and 512GB (UFS 3.1) of inbuilt storage on the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Note 13 Pro+ 5G, respectively. The top-of-the-line model offers support for Wi-Fi 6 routers while the other models support Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) connectivity, according to the company. The smartphones also offer NFC support and have an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G packs a 5,100mAh battery with support for 67W charging, while the Note 13 Pro+ has a 5,000mAh battery with 120W charging support and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Redmi Note 13 Series Price in India Leaked Ahead of January 4 Launch; Colours, Storage Options Tipped

Redmi Note 13 series, which was unveiled in China in September 2023, is confirmed to launch in India on January 4. It is expected to be available in Prism Gold, Arctic White, and Stealth Black shades

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is said to start from Rs. 28,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, whereas the 12GB + 256GB option could be priced at Rs. 32,999. The leak shows that this Pro model will likely be offered in Arctic White, Coral Purple, and Midnight Black colours.

The top-of-the-line Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G, is expected to be available in three configurations. As per the leak, the 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants will likely be offered at Rs. 33,999, Rs. 35,999 and Rs. 37,999, respectively. This model is said to launch in India in Fusion White, Fusion Purple, and Fusion Black colourways.

The Indian variants of the Redmi Note 13 5G models are expected to get similar specifications as their Chinese counterparts. In China, the base model is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC, while the Pro and Pro+ models respectively come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipsets.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ Teaser Page Goes Live; Confirms Flipkart Availability Ahead of January 4 India Launch

Redmi Note 13 series is confirmed to launch in India on January 4. The series was unveiled earlier this year in September in China. It includes three models – Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G. Xiaomi has confirmed the availability of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ in India via Flipkart as a microsite for the phone, which went live on Monday. The page reveals that the phone will come with a 1.5K curved screen with Corning Gorilla Victus protection and an IP68 rating for dust and splash resistance. It is confirmed to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is also said to support 120W wired HyperCharge connectivity in India, which claims to charge the phone from zero to 100 in 19 minutes. Offered in Black, Silver and White colourways, the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ starts at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 22,800) for its 12GB + 256GB option, while the 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB variants are listed at CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 25,100) and CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 26,200), respectively.

Redmi Note 13 series with three entries — Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G— are confirmed to debut in India on January 4. Ahead of their official unveiling, the renders and European pricing of the Redmi Note 13 4G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G models have leaked online. The renders suggest three colour options for the Redmi Note 13 4G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. They are seen with a hole-punch display design and might include a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.

Tipster Paras Guglani, in collaboration with RMUpdate, has leaked the European pricing of the Redmi Note 13 4G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. As per the report, the former will be priced at EUR 199 (roughly Rs. 18,100) and EUR 249 (roughly Rs. 22,600) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variants, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G will reportedly cost EUR 349 (roughly Rs. 31,800) 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage version could be priced at EUR 399 (roughly Rs. 36,400).

The design of the Redmi Note 13 4G and Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G looks nearly identical to their 5G counterparts. The former is shown in black, blue, and green colour options while the latter is shown in black, green, and purple shades. They appear to have thin bezels on the sides and a centrally placed hole punch cutout to house the selfie shooter.

Poco X6 Pro Could Launch Soon in India; Reportedly Listed on BIS Website

Poco X6 series may launch soon in India. The lineup is expected to succeed the Poco X5 series, which was globally released earlier this year in February. It is likely to include a base Poco X6 and the Poco X6 Pro, similar to its preceding series. The company has not yet confirmed the launch of these smartphones or even announced the phones. Recently, these phones were said to have been spotted on the IMEI website. Now, the purported Poco X6 Pro has reportedly been spotted on one of India’s certification sites.

According to TheTechOutlook report, the Poco X6 Pro was spotted recently on India’s BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) website. The report states that the handset was listed with the model number 23122PCD1I. Though the moniker is not found listed, the report adds that a phone with a similar model number was recently found on the IMEI website and was identified as the Poco X6 Pro.

The report also adds that the Poco X6 Pro is expected to launch as a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro, while the base Poco X6 may be a rebranded Redmi Note 13 5G. The Redmi Note 13 models were released in China in September, alongside a third Redmi Note 13 Pro+ variant.

Meanwhile, the Poco X5 series was unveiled in February in the global market. The Poco X5 Pro 5G was launched in India the same month and was priced at Rs. 22,999 for the base 6GB + 128GB. The phone was also available in an 8GB + 256GB variant listed at Rs. 24,999. It is offered in Astral Black, Horizon Blue, and Yellow colour options.

The base Poco X5 5G is also available in India in two storage options – 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, which are priced at Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 19,999, respectively. This model also comes in colourways of Astral Black, Horizon Blue, and Yellow.

Redmi launched the Note 13 series in China on Thursday, September 22. The lineup includes a base Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ model. The series succeeds the Redmi Note 12 lineup, which was also released with three models globally. Design renders and key specifications of several of the handsets were teased previously. The 6GB + 128GB variant of the Redmi Note 13 is priced at CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs. 13,900). The 8GB + 128GB  and the 8GB + 256GB variants are listed at CNY 1,299 (Rs. 15,100) and CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 17,400), respectively. The top-of-the-line 12GB + 256GB option is marked at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 19,700).

On the other hand, the 128GB and 256GB variants of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 8GB RAM option are available at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 17,400) and CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 19,700), respectively. The Note 13 Pro is also offered at CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs. 22,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant and CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 23,100) for the 12GB + 512GB option. The high-end 16GB + 512GB variant of the pro model is priced at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs. 24,300).

Meanwhile, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is available in three storage options – 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 512GB which are listed at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 22,800), CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 25,100) and CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 26,200), respectively.

The base Note 13 model is offered in Black, Blue and White colour options. The Pro model comes in Black, Blue, Silver and White shades, while the Pro+ handset is available in Black, Silver and White colourways. The sale of the phones will start from September 26 on the Xiaomi China website.

The Pro model has a 6.67-inch 1.5K full-HD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset along with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. It comes with the same MIUI 14 OS as the base model.

In the photography department, the Note 13 Pro sports a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP3 primary rear sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor at the back and a 16-megapixel sensor at the front. It packs a 5,100mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ specifications

The high-end Pro+ model comes with similar display, OS, storage and camera specifications as the Pro handset. It is backed by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC. The handset comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.
