Xiaomi 14T, Xiaomi 14T Pro Reference Spotted on HyperOS Code, Unlikely to Launch in India: Report

Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro with Leica-tuned triple rear cameras and MediaTek Dimensity SoCs were launched in global markets last year. Now, Xiaomi is said to be working on the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro. The source code reportedly found in the HyperOS code indicates the possible specifications and codenames of the Xiaomi 14T series. This suggests that the Xiaomi 14T Pro will have identical specifications to that of the rumoured Redmi K70 Ultra. Both models are said to go official in September in global markets except India.

Xiaomi has not shared any information on the Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro, but Android Headlines have found a reference to both handsets on the HyperOS code. As per the report, Xiaomi 14T Pro is codenamed “rothko”. The Pro variant will reportedly debut as a rebranded version of the unannounced Redmi K70 Ultra and could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SOC. It is said to have “N12” as the internal model number.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro is said to offer wireless charging and include a telephoto camera with Leica lenses. The Redmi K70 Ultra, however, might lack these features.

The Xiaomi 14T is reportedly codenamed “degas,” inspired by the name of the popular French artist Edgar Degas. The report claims that the handset appeared on the HyperOS source code with the internal model number “N12A“.

Further, the report states that the Xiaomi 14T Pro will go on sale in different markets with different model numbers “2407FPN8EG“, “2407FPN8ER“, and “A402XM“. The Xiaomi 14T is said to launch in global markets with model numbers “2406APNFAG“, and “XIG06“. Both the base and the Pro variants are anticipated to be sold in many countries except India.

The standard Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro are said to share similar camera and battery specifications. Like the Xiaomi 13T series, they might run on different chipsets. The Redmi K70 Ultra is believed to go official in China in August. Based on this, the publication speculates that the launch of the Xiaomi 14T series will happen in September. Since this has not yet been confirmed by Xiaomi, the information should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Xiaomi to Rollout HyperOS Update for Several Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco Smartphones in Q1 2024

Xiaomi announced in October this year that it will replace its MIUI OS with HyperOS and retire the older OS skin after its almost 13-year-long run. The new HyperOS UI was first introduced with the Xiaomi 14 series. The company also revealed its plan to introduce the HyperOS developer version to other Xiaomi and Redmi handsets in China. Now, the Chinese OEM has confirmed the Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco models that will receive the HyperOS developer version update globally.

In a post on X, Xiaomi confirmed that several smartphones and a tablet will receive the HyperOS update globally within the first quarter of 2024. The firm assured that those who signed up for the developer beta users will receive over-the-air (OTA) updates for the stable version. Among the models that will receive the HyperOS skin in Q1 2024 are Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12S, and Xiaomi Pad 6.

Simultaneously, Poco announced that the Poco F5 will be the first model from the brand to get the Xiaomi HyperOS update. Like the aforementioned Xiaomi and Redmi models, eligible Poco F5 users will also receive routine OTA updates. The brand added that it will announce other models that will also receive a similar update at a later date.

HyperOS is touted to be a human-centric operating system designed to align seamlessly with personal devices, cars, and smart home products to offer users an updated smart ecosystem experience. It integrates an AI subsystem and cross-device connectivity, alongside AI-backed enhancements to other features.

The Xiaomi 14 models, which launched in China with the Xiaomi 14 and a Xiaomi 14 Pro, were the first handsets to launch with HyperOS out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi 13T series is set to launch in the global market on September 26, Xiaomi confirmed in a tweet on Tuesday (September 5). While the company has only mentioned the Xiaomi 13T series, we can expect it to include the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro, successors to the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro, respectively. The upcoming smartphones are teased to flaunt Leica-tuned rear camera units. The Xiaomi 13T Pro is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC, while the vanilla model could run on a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. They could be backed by 5,000mAh batteries.

Xiaomi 13T series will be unveiled on September 26. The launch event will begin in Berlin, Germany, at 2:00pm GMT (7:30pm IST) and will be livestreamed via Mi.com, as per a teaser poster shared by the company on X (formerly Twitter). The marketing poster has a tagline “masterpiece in sight” and the tweet says that the rear camera setup of the new smartphone series is co-engineered with Leica.

The Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro are expected to debut as close siblings of the Xiaomi 13 Pro. As per past leaks, Xiaomi 13T series handsets will run on MIUI 14 out of the box. The vanilla Xiaomi 13T is said to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 144Hz. The Xiaomi 13T Pro could flaunt a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K and 144Hz refresh rate. The vanilla model is said to run on MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra SoC. The Xiaomi 13T Pro, in contrast, could pack a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC under the hood.

The Xiaomi 13T is tipped to carry a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The triple rear camera unit of the Xiaomi 13T Pro is likely to include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 primary sensor with OIS, a 13-megapixel Omnivision OV138 sensor, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens.

Xiaomi is expected to provide 5,000mAh batteries on both Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro. The former could support 67W fast charging, whereas the Pro model might offer 120W fast charging.

Xiaomi 13T Pro Spotted on IMEI Database Alongside Redmi K60 Ultra; Launch Timeline Tipped

Xiaomi 13T series is tipped to launch soon. The company is expected to launch its new premium T-series smartphones in the third quarter of 2023. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any details about the launch of the 13T series. However, the Xiaomi 13T Pro, which will be the more premium offering over the vanilla model, has reportedly been spotted online. The Xiaomi 13T Pro has been spotted on the IMEI database alongside the Redmi K60 Ultra. While the Redmi K60 Ultra is likely to be a China-exclusive smartphone, the Xiaomi 13T Pro might launch globally.

The Xiaomi 13T Pro’s IMEI listing was spotted online by Xiaomi UI. According to a report, the Xiaomi 13T Pro has the model number 23078PND5G. The “G” at the end of the model number means that the phone spotted on the IMEI database is the global variant. The Redmi K60 Ultra, on the other hand, is said to carry the model number 23078RKD5C, where C stands for China. The model numbers of both smartphones indicate that they will debut in July 2023.

Other than this, the listing does not suggest any other specifications of the two Xiaomi smartphones. However, the Xiaomi UI report hints that the phone might not debut in India. Xiaomi skipped launching the 12T series, which debuted last year in Europe.

The Xiaomi 13T Pro and the Redmi K60 Ultra are likely to feature a MediaTek processor. According to the report, the handsets will feature the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC. Xiaomi UI also spotted the smartphones in the MIUI code with the codename corot.

We can expect the Xiaomi 13T Pro to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display, support at least 120W fast charging, and maybe carry a 200-megapixel triple-camera setup on the back. The same set of hardware was found in the Xiaomi 12T Pro. Therefore, if the tipped specifications are true, the Xiaomi 13T Pro might be an incremental upgrade over the outgoing model.
