Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G With PolarAce Imaging System Unveiled at MWC 2024

Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. It will succeed the Tecno Camon 20 Premier. The company revealed some key details about the handset during an event at the MWC and confirmed a launch timeline for the smartphone as well. It is set to come to select markets in the second quarter of the year. The phone comes with the new PolarAce Imaging System and Sony cameras.

On its social media handles, Tecno has confirmed that the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G will come with PolarAce Imaging System and it also confirmed its partnership with Sony Lytia cameras. At the MWC 2024 event, the company showcased the phone. Although the phone has not yet been listed online, we know the details of the upcoming handset as Gadgets 360 was present on ground.

Tecno showed the Camon 30 Premier 5G in two colour options – black and white. Unlike its preceding model, the latest one appears with a large, circular rear camera module – similar to the trend most mid-range and flagship handsets from competing brands have followed in the past few months.

In the top left corner of the back panel, there is a red ‘Action Dot,’ which acts as an indicator for when users record videos. It is also said to light up as a charging indicator or when the voice assistant feature of the phone is activated.

The Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G sports a 6.77-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1,264 x 2,780 pixels and a peak brightness level of 1,400nits. The phone is said to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage. It will ship with Android 14-based UI.

As for the cameras, the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G features a triple rear camera unit which includes a 1/1.56-inch 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, a 50-megapixel 70mm periscope camera sensor, and a third 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens. The front camera of the phone uses a 50-megapixel sensor.

The Tecno PolarAce Imaging System is centred around a Sony CXD5622GG chip which is an image signal processor (ISP). The dedicated image processor is said to help with high-quality image and video processing without draining power from the main SoC. Tecno claims that the Camon 30 Premier can record 4K 30fps HDR videos and 4K low light videos.

Tecno packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 70W wired fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The handset is equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. It also gets an FM radio, IR blaster, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity.

OnePlus Watch 2 Officially Teased; Tipped to Launch on February 26

OnePlus Watch 2 is expected to launch soon. Details about the smartwatch have been doing rounds of the rumour mill for the past few weeks. It is expected to succeed the OnePlus Watch, which was unveiled in India in April 2021. OnePlus Watch 2 has been tipped to come with upgrades over the preceding model. Previous leaks have suggested key features of the smart wearable, its design renders, and hinted at its launch timeline. Now the company has officially teased the watch.

In a post on X, OnePlus shared an image with the outline of a watch dial alongside the caption “It’s about time,” suggesting the launch of a new smartwatch, possibly the OnePlus Watch 2. The circular body is seen with two buttons on the right side – one likely the home button while the other one looks like a rotating crown, which may also be functional.

The teaser was also shared by the company in a OnePlus Community post, where they asked people to guess what the product is and noted that only “wrong answers” are acceptable and the “best wrong answer wins the right prize.” Open to all users from India, North America and Europe, this contest will close on February 26, at 5pm IST, which could be the date when OnePlus launches the product.

Backing this theory is a claim by tipster Max Jambor (@MaxJmb) who states that the OnePlus Watch 2 will be introduced on February 26. This also aligns with the tipster’s previous claim that the smartwatch will launch during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 that is being held in Barcelona from February 26 to February 29.

The OnePlus Watch 2 has earlier been tipped to come with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, and is expected to ship with WearOS 3 or WearOS 4. It has also been spotted on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) website suggesting an imminent India launch.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra Leaked Design Renders Show Camera Bump, Faux Leather Back Panel

Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to be unveiled on February 25. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are confirmed to be launched globally on the day. The yet-unreleased top-of-the-line Ultra model has surfaced online multiple times recently. Some key specifications of the purported phone have been leaked previously, including RAM and storage options. The colour options and price of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra have also been tipped. A new report shared leaked high-resolution design renders of the rumoured model.

A MySmartPrice report shared leaked design renders of the purported Xiaomi 14 Ultra, where the phone is seen in black and white colourways. The back panels are seen with a faux-leather texture, which holds the large, circular rear camera module. This comes with a slightly raised bump compared to the older Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Under the black and gold bezel is a black, round bezel around the camera module, which also houses the Leica camera branding. The power button and volume rockers of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra appear on the right edge of the handset, while the speaker grille, USB Type-C port, and primary microphone are placed on the bottom edge.

According to an earlier leak, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra model is tipped to launch with 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB configurations. The largest storage option in titanium, white and blue shades may also be offered. The white option will likely have a leather finish, while the blue colourway may come in a glass-back option.

The 16GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB options of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra are expected to be available only in black and white. The phone is likely to be priced at CNY 7,299 (roughly Rs. 84,000), while the special titanium version may be listed at CNY 7,799 (roughly Rs. 90,100).

Previous leaks claimed that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It is expected to ship with Android 14-based HyperOS. The phone may feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The quad rear camera unit of the handset is likely to include four 50-megapixel cameras. The handset will likely get a 5,180mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
