Meanwhile, the Tecno Camon 30 5G model is marked at NGN 4,52,000 (roughly Rs. 28,400), while the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is priced at NGN 5,38,000 (roughly Rs. 33,800). The former is available in Emerald Lake Green, Iceland Basaltic Dark, and Uyuni Salt White colour options. The Pro model comes in Iceland Basaltic Dark and Alps Snowy Silver shades.

Tecno Nigeria has not yet announced the sale date of the Camon 30 models but has revealed a list of stores where the handsets are currently available for pre-order.

For optics, the Tecno Camon Pro 5G includes a 1/1.56-inch 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, a 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor at the back alongside dual rear flash units. The front camera houses a 50-megapixel sensor with autofocus.

The Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 70W fast charging support via USB Type-C port. It is also equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

According to the company, the Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G will launch on March 29 in India. The launch will happen in collaboration with a gaming entertainment show Playground Season 3. The show will be streamed live on Amazon miniTV and the unboxing of the smartphone will also happen on the show.

Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G With PolarAce Imaging System Unveiled at MWC 2024

Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. It will succeed the Tecno Camon 20 Premier. The company revealed some key details about the handset during an event at the MWC and confirmed a launch timeline for the smartphone as well. It is set to come to select markets in the second quarter of the year. The phone comes with the new PolarAce Imaging System and Sony cameras.

On its social media handles, Tecno has confirmed that the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G will come with PolarAce Imaging System and it also confirmed its partnership with Sony Lytia cameras. At the MWC 2024 event, the company showcased the phone. Although the phone has not yet been listed online, we know the details of the upcoming handset as Gadgets 360 was present on ground.

Tecno showed the Camon 30 Premier 5G in two colour options – black and white. Unlike its preceding model, the latest one appears with a large, circular rear camera module – similar to the trend most mid-range and flagship handsets from competing brands have followed in the past few months.

In the top left corner of the back panel, there is a red ‘Action Dot,’ which acts as an indicator for when users record videos. It is also said to light up as a charging indicator or when the voice assistant feature of the phone is activated.

The Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G sports a 6.77-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1,264 x 2,780 pixels and a peak brightness level of 1,400nits. The phone is said to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage. It will ship with Android 14-based UI.

As for the cameras, the Tecno Camon 30 Premier 5G features a triple rear camera unit which includes a 1/1.56-inch 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support, a 50-megapixel 70mm periscope camera sensor, and a third 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens. The front camera of the phone uses a 50-megapixel sensor.

The Tecno PolarAce Imaging System is centred around a Sony CXD5622GG chip which is an image signal processor (ISP). The dedicated image processor is said to help with high-quality image and video processing without draining power from the main SoC. Tecno claims that the Camon 30 Premier can record 4K 30fps HDR videos and 4K low light videos.

Tecno packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 70W wired fast charging via a USB Type-C port. The handset is equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. It also gets an FM radio, IR blaster, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G Design Leaked via Hands-on Images; Dimensity 8200 Ultimate SoC Tipped

Tecno is working on the Camon 30 series as a successor to the Camon 20 lineup. The upcoming lineup is expected to include multiple models including the Tecno Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G, and Camon 30 Premier 5G. Ahead of any official announcement, alleged hands-on images and specifications of Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G have popped up online. The renders show a green colour variant of the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G. Tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) posted alleged live images and specifications of the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G on X. The renders show the device in a green finish. It appears to have a circular-shaped camera island on the rear with multiple sensors. The physical buttons are all located on the left-hand side of the handset. There is a centrally located hole-punch cutout on the display as well.

As per the tipster, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G will run on MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate SoC. It is said to come in 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 256GB RAM and storage options. The handset is tipped to feature a 100-megapixel primary rear camera and a 50-megapixel selfie camera. Tecno could pack a 5,000mAh battery on the upcoming phone with 66W charging support.

The Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is expected to come with upgrades over last year’s Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G that debuted with an initial price tag of Rs. 19,999.

Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It runs on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC and has a triple rear camera unit, comprising a 64-megapixel RGBW primary camera. Tecno Pocket Go With AR Glasses, Dynamic 1 Robot Dog Unveiled at MWC 2024: Key Features

Tecno unveiled its alternate reality (AR) gaming set and a robot dog modelled after a German Shepherd at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona. The AR gaming set, called the Tecno Pocket Go, is claimed to be the world’s first Windows-based AR gaming kit and promises a 6D immersive gaming experience. Meanwhile, the robot dog is called Dynamic 1 and is an AI-backed biomorphic dog that the company reportedly claims to be the “perfect pet-like companion for the future.”

Powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, the Tecno Pocket Go comes with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of PCle 4.0 SSD storage. It is backed by a 50Wh replaceable battery. Although it is said to have a PC-level large cooling fan, the wireless console is claimed to be 50 percent smaller and 30 percent lighter than other Windows gaming handheld consoles.

The Pocket Go console is meant to be paired with an AR headset called the AR Pocket Vision, according to a GSMArena report. The glasses also feature a 0.71-inch micro-OLED screen that is said to offer vision support almost equal to a 215-inch television from 6 metres away. It also has adjustable diopter settings of up to 600 degrees. 

According to the aforementioned report, the Tecno Pocket Go also comes with a Tecno Smart Box that is meant to serve as a central console for controlling games and settings. It will also enable the AR Pocket Vision and Pocket Go wireless controller to connect with other Tecno devices and function as a portable workstation.

Tecno also unveiled the Tecno Dynamic 1 which is an AI-backed robotic dog with a 15,000mAh battery. It is said to allow a wide range of controls including smartphones, remote controls and voice commands. The machine is powered by an unspecified octa-core chipset and is equipped with binocular and infrared sensors alongside Intel’s Realsense D430 camera. With a torque output of 45 Nm/kg, the machine can perform several physical tasks, like going up and down the stairs, jumping, shaking hands and even handstands.

The company has yet to confirm the launch of these products. Although it is quite likely that the Tecno Dynamic 1 will not even be commercialised. It could just remain as an exercise which proves the technological prowess and advancement of the firm’s research and development.

Tecno to Unveil PolarAce Imaging System at MWC 2024, Set to Debut in Camon 30 Series

Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC) will kickstart in Barcelona on February 26 with a plethora of brands showcasing their latest trends and innovations in the mobile and telecommunication landscape. Tecno, owned by China’s Transsion Holdings, announced earlier this month that it will showcase an AR gaming set, a robot dog, and a Pova series smartphone at the event. Now the brand has confirmed that it will also unveil its new “AI-enhanced” imaging system named Tecno PolarAce at MWC. The company will be unveiling the Tecno Megabook T16 Pro 2024 Ultra notebook at the event.

Tecno in a recent press release announced that it will unveil PolarAce Imaging System during MWC. It is claimed to be the company’s first-ever imaging system featuring an independent imaging chip. The AI-enhanced imaging technology is said to enable advanced videography capture and it will debut in the upcoming Tecno Camon 30 series. Tecno’s PolarAce system will be unveiled alongside Tecno’s Megabook T16 Pro 2024 Ultra on February 27.

The Transsion Holdings subsidiary says the latest PolarAce Imaging Sysetm aims to address the limitations of traditional SoCs in delivering exceptional videos and current solutions. The latest technology is stated to eliminate the limited full-scene HDR capabilities of current imaging solutions.

Earlier this month, Tecno announced that it will be attending MWC to unveil a new Pova phone, a robot dog, a flagship laptop, and an AR gaming kit. The company’s first Windows AR gaming handheld called Pocket Go combines AR glasses and a handheld device. Additionally, the Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G smartphone will make its global debut at the event. The event will also see the company’s futuristic AI and AR technologies, Universal Tone technology, new concepts, and more.

Tecno is anticipated to introduce its first rollable phone called Phantom Ultimate during the event. The brand showcased its Phantom Ultimate prototype with a rollable display in September 2022.

Tecno Spark 20 With MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, 50-Megapixel Camera Launched in India: Price, Specifications

Tecno Spark 20 was launched in India on Tuesday, January 30. The model was initially unveiled in December 2023 globally. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. It carries a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W wired charging. In the camera department, the handset gets a dual rear camera system and dual LED flash unit for both the back and front camera. This budget offering also arrives with an IP53 rating. It will be available for purchase in the country soon.

Offered in Cyber White, Gravity Black, Magic Skin 2.0 (Blue), and Neon Gold colourways, the Tecno Spark 20 is priced in India at Rs. 10,499. It will be available for purchase in the country exclusively through Amazon starting February 2, 12pm IST. 

Tecno also announced that it is extending a free annual OTTPlay subscription worth Rs. 4,897 with the purchase of each Tecno Spark 20 model, which encompasses access to 19 OTT platforms like SonyLIV, Zee5, Lionsgate Play, and Fancode among others.

Tecno Spark 20 specification, features

Tecno Spark 20 sports a 6.6-inch HD+ (720 x 1,612 pixels) LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The RAM can be extended virtually by an additional 8GB to up to 16GB. It ships with Android 13-based HiOS 13.

For optics, the Tecno Spark 20 comes with a 50-megapixel primary rear sensor alongside an unspecified secondary sensor and dual LED flash units. The front camera is equipped with a 32-megapixel sensor, placed within a centred hole-punch slot. Tecno’s Dynamic Port software feature, which works similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, is available on the phone and appears around the selfie camera cutout at the top of the display. The pop-up bar shows notifications and other alerts like charging percentage, call status, etc.

The Tecno Spark 20 is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired charging support via a USB Type-C port. The phone also supports 4G, Wi-Fi, GNSS and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. For security, the handset carries a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The smartphone gets an IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance and measures 163.69mm x 75.6mm x 8.45mm in size.
