Samsung has introduced seasonal offers for its wide lineup of products in India, including smartphones, wearables, TVs, tablets, audio products and more. The company has launched a ‘New BigInnings’ programme to boost sales during the wedding season in the country. Under the programme, consumers will be offered curated product packages, which can be availed when buying three or more Samsung products. The programme will also bring special services to help consumers to set up their new home.

According to a Samsung press release, customers can avail a discount of seven percent while buying three or more Samsung products. The offers under the ‘New BigInnings’ programme are available throughout the wedding season, till February 29, 2024. The South Korean electronics giant is also providing affordable EMI options starting at Rs. 6,999.

The programme will bring discounts to a wide range of smartphones, home entertainment products, audio products, and more. Notably, the seven percent discount can be availed on a combination purchase of the latest Samsung foldables like Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, and wearables like the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy Buds 2.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, launched in July, runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy SoC and sports a 7.6-inch AMOLED inner display, along with a 6.2-inch cover screen. The foldable uses Samsung’s new Flex Hinge with a dual rail structure. The 256GB variant of the foldable is priced in India at Rs. 1,54,999.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 also runs on the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. It sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,640 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex inner display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The cover display is a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED folder-shaped screen with 720×748 pixels resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The 256GB variant of the phone costs Rs. 99,999.

In addition to the smartphones and wearables, Samsung is also providing discounts on the combination purchase of its televisions like the Neo QLED TV, QLED TV, and Frame TV, alongside its line of refrigerators. Offers are also available on Samsung soundbars, ACs, washing machines, microwaves, and more.

Samsung’s wedding season packages can be availed on the Samsung website until February 29, 2024. In addition to the seven percent discount on the purchase of three or more products, the company is also offering a five percent discount upon buying two or more Samsung devices.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition Unveiled as an Homage to the Samsung E700

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition as a new variant of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. The unique clamshell foldable phone draws inspiration from the SGH-E700 (Samsung E700) released in 2003 as Samsung’s first handset to feature a built-in antenna. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro has a blue colour panel and a matte finish frame. The special edition smartphone comes bundled with various accessories including Flipsuit cards, and Flipsuit cases among others. Apart from the accessories, the new Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition is expected to have similar specifications as the vanilla Galaxy Z Flip 5 that launched globally in July this year.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro will be available in limited quantities in Australia, Korea, UK, Germany, and Spain on November 1 exclusively through Samsung’s official website Samsung.com. It sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex inner display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED folder-shaped cover display with a refresh rate of 60Hz. The handset runs on a custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy SoC under the hood, with 8GB of RAM.

For optics, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 sports a dual rear camera unit, comprising a 12-megapixel ultra-wide primary sensor, along with a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with support for OIS. A10-megapixel selfie camera manages selfies and video calls. It has an IPX8 rating for water resistance. Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with a 3,700mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging.

The clamshell foldable phone is sold in Cream, Graphite, Lavender, and Mint colour options. Samsung’s website will also sell the phone in additional Blue, Gray, and Green colourways.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is priced at Rs. 1,54,999 for the model with 256GB of storage while the 512GB and 1TB storage variants cost Rs. 1,64,999 and Rs. 1,84,999, respectively. This foldable phone is sold in Cream, Icy Blue, and Phantom, Black colour options, while the 1TB storage model will only be available in an Icy Blue colourway. It will also be available in a Platinum colour option via the company’s website. 

Both Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will go on sale in India on August 18, Samsung announced in a prepared statement on Friday.

These foldable phones run on One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13. On the Galaxy Z Flip 5, you get two 12-megapixel rear camera sensors and a 10-megapixel selfie camera. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 features a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera.
