Samsung Offers Product Wedding Packages With Discounts: Galaxy Z Fold 5, Refrigerators, Neo QLED TVs, More

Samsung has introduced seasonal offers for its wide lineup of products in India, including smartphones, wearables, TVs, tablets, audio products and more. The company has launched a ‘New BigInnings’ programme to boost sales during the wedding season in the country. Under the programme, consumers will be offered curated product packages, which can be availed when buying three or more Samsung products. The programme will also bring special services to help consumers to set up their new home.

According to a Samsung press release, customers can avail a discount of seven percent while buying three or more Samsung products. The offers under the ‘New BigInnings’ programme are available throughout the wedding season, till February 29, 2024. The South Korean electronics giant is also providing affordable EMI options starting at Rs. 6,999.

The programme will bring discounts to a wide range of smartphones, home entertainment products, audio products, and more. Notably, the seven percent discount can be availed on a combination purchase of the latest Samsung foldables like Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, and wearables like the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy Buds 2.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, launched in July, runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy SoC and sports a 7.6-inch AMOLED inner display, along with a 6.2-inch cover screen. The foldable uses Samsung’s new Flex Hinge with a dual rail structure. The 256GB variant of the foldable is priced in India at Rs. 1,54,999.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 also runs on the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. It sports a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,640 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex inner display with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The cover display is a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED folder-shaped screen with 720×748 pixels resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The 256GB variant of the phone costs Rs. 99,999.

In addition to the smartphones and wearables, Samsung is also providing discounts on the combination purchase of its televisions like the Neo QLED TV, QLED TV, and Frame TV, alongside its line of refrigerators. Offers are also available on Samsung soundbars, ACs, washing machines, microwaves, and more.

Samsung’s wedding season packages can be availed on the Samsung website until February 29, 2024. In addition to the seven percent discount on the purchase of three or more products, the company is also offering a five percent discount upon buying two or more Samsung devices.

Apple Watch Series 9, Watch Ultra 2 ‘Double Tap’ Gesture Also Works on Some Galaxy Watch Models: Details

Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 were launched by the company alongside the iPhone 15 series of smartphones at the company’s September launch event on Tuesday. While Apple’ did not introduce major improvements related to health measurement this year, the company teased support for a new Double Tap gesture that will allow users to perform certain actions on the latest smartwatch models. These include stopping timer, snoozing an alarm, or pausing music. However, you can also use the same gesture on some Samsung Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch models.

Both Apple and Samsung offer different features that allow users to use a few hand gestures to perform certain tasks. It is called Universal Gestures on compatible Galaxy Watch models, as 9to5Google points out, while on an Apple Watch, the feature is called AssistiveTouch. Both features can be used on recent smartwatch models from the two companies, and require the use of updated software for the wearables.

You can use these finger and wrist-based gestures on any Apple Watch that is running Watch OS 8 — which means it will work on the Apple Watch Series 4 and newer models, as well as the first-generation Apple Watch SE. You can open the Settings app on your Apple Watch and tap on Accessibility > AssistiveTouch > Hand Gestures. You can then select from four options: Clench, Double Clench, Pinch, Double Pinch and customise the actions that will be performed when using these gestures.

Similarly, if you have any smartwatch launched as part of the following series: Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 4, you will have access to the Universal Gestures feature. You can visit the settings section on your Galaxy Watch that is running One UI Watch 5 and tap on Accessibility > Interaction and dexterity > Universal gestures. Once the feature is enabled, you can choose from pinch and double pinch gestures, making a fist and making a fist twice, to perform certain tasks. You can also shake your writs to enable the universal gestures feature.

Apple Watch owners can further customise the actions to perform tasks like launching Siri, Apple Pay, showing all installed apps, switching to the previous app, and even holding the side button which can be used to turn off the watch. We will learn more about how the new Double Tap gesture works with the existing accessibility features on the new Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models when the devices are available to consumers later this month.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, Galaxy Watch 6 Classic Price in India Announced: Details

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series was launched in Seoul on July 26 at the Galaxy Unpacked event. The lineup includes the Galaxy Watch 6 and the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. The wearables are available in different colours and sizes, and can be pre-ordered on Samsung’s official website, or Samsung offline stores. Both the smartwatches — the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic — can be connected with devices running Android 10 or higher. A day after the wearable’s official launch, the South Korean giant has now revealed the Indian prices for the Galaxy Watch 6 series.

In India, the Galaxy Watch 6 comes at a starting price of Rs. 19,999 for the 40mm dial with Bluetooth/WiFi connectivity. Meanwhile the 40mm Galaxy Watch 6 with LTE connectivity costs Rs. 33,999. On the other hand, the 44m Galaxy Watch 6 with Bluetooth/WiFi support is marked at Rs. 32,999, whereas the LTE variant in 44mm will be available for Rs. 36,999.

For the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, the 43mm variant with Bluetooth/WiFi support is priced at Rs. 36,999, and the LTE variant costs Rs. 40,999. In the 47mm dial size, the Bluetooth/WiFi variant is marked at Rs. 39,999, while the LTE model is priced at Rs. 43,999.

The Galaxy Watch 6 is available in three colour options — Gold, Graphite, and Silver. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic comes in Black and Silver colour models. Pre-orders for the watches in India start at 12pm today. Those who pre-book will also be eligible for a cashback of Rs. 6,000 and an upgrade bonus of Rs. 4,000, effectively bringing the prices down.

The Galaxy Watch 6 series get Sapphire Crystal AMOLED panel, which comes with an Always-On-Display (AOD) feature. Both the variants are equipped with Samsung’s Exynos W930 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. These wearables run Wear OS-based One UI 5 Watch OS.

The 40mm and 43mm variants in both the watches get a 1.3-inch screen, whereas the 44mm and 47mm models have a 1.5-inch display. The Galaxy Watch 6 series gets several health features like heart rate and oxygen monitor, sleep tracker and menstrual cycle predictor. The watches are compatible with any device running Android 10 or higher.

In terms of battery, the 40mm and 43mm size watches pack a 300mAH battery, while the 44mm and 47mm size models are backed by a 425mAH battery, all with WPC-based wireless charging support. On a single charge, the Galaxy Watch 6 watches are claimed to last up to 30 hours with the Always-On Display mode turned on.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Watch 6 Series Pre-Order Offers Tipped; Samsung Teases Upcoming Galaxy Watch Features

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Watch 6 series pre-order deals have been leaked online, days ahead of the company’s next launch event. The second Galaxy Unpacked event of 2023 will be held in South Korea and the firm is expected to unveil new foldable phones, a new tablet and smartwatch series, and a new pair of true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds. Meanwhile, Samsung has unveiled new software features coming to existing and upcoming smartwatch models, including a new temperature app and support for displaying tickets and passes.

Tipster Evan Blass recently posted details of the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic (via GSMArena) to Threads, stating that customers who pre-order the next generation smartwatches from Samsung will get a fabric band at no additional cost. Samsung is yet to officially reveal details of the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic pricing and availability. Meanwhile, Blass claims that customers who pre-book the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will receive an upgrade with double the storage capacity at no extra cost.

With only a few days to go before Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event — scheduled to take place in South Korea for the first time on July 26 — the company has begun to reveal some of the new features it is bringing to existing models and its upcoming wearable devices.

This year, Samsung Wallet is coming to Galaxy Watch models with support for making payments, display identity cards, and quickly access tickets for shows without unlocking their smartphone. Meanwhile, a new Thermo Check app for the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 5 series will allow users to check the temperature of different objects and locations such as their meals, or water in a swimming pool — without any contact. Finally, Samsung has also confirmed that the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series will also support WhatsApp’s new smartwatch app. Released by the Meta-owned messaging service on Wednesday, WhatsApp for Wear OS allows users to continue conversations, send voice messages, and take calls using the smartwatch on their wrist.
