‘Teen Mom’ alum Nathan Griffith arrested for domestic battery

Former “Teen Mom” star Nathan Griffith was arrested for domestic battery after allegedly choking a woman, Page Six can confirm.

According to TMZ, police arrived at the former reality TV star’s home in Delray Beach, Fla. on Friday after he allegedly told his brother-in-law, William, over the phone that he had “lost it,” choked a woman and dragged her up the stairs.

William further claimed to the cops that he then texted Griffith’s girlfriend, who told him she was not OK.

When cops arrived at Griffith’s home, he was allegedly uncooperative and even told the officers that William wasn’t a reliable source because he was “on drugs.”

However, the MTV star had scratches on his neck and back, which he reportedly told the cops came from having sex with his girlfriend.

The US Sun was the first to report the arrest.

Playboi Carti accused of choking pregnant girlfriend over paternity test: report

Rapper Playboi Carti has been arrested in Georgia for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend during an argument about a paternity test, according to a report.

The “Shoota” rapper was accused of grabbing the woman by the throat and pushing her on Dec. 20. She claims he held her neck until she struggled to breathe, TMZ reports.

Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Carter, was arrested for felony aggravated assault.

The woman, who has not been named, told police she thought she was going to die, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by the outlet.

The woman, who has reportedly been dating the rapper, 26, for over two years and has been living with him in his Georgia mansion since July 2022, told cops she was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged attack.

The argument broke out and it quickly became physical as the woman brought up taking a paternity test for her unborn baby.

The woman told cops that a witness tried to break up the fight and she ran to her car —only to be attacked by the rapper again.

She told cops the “Miss The Rage” rapper tried to remove her from the car and put his hand over her mouth while she tried to use the car’s SOS feature to call 911.

When cops arrived to the scene, they noticed injuries to her neck, chest, and back, TMZ reports.

Playboi Carti’s reps did not respond to Page Six’s calls for comment, but his lawyer denied any wrongdoing when reached by TMZ.

“Mr. Carter was falsely accused,” attorney Brian Steel, told the outlet. “Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.”

The rapper has had several run-ins with the law in recent years, including an April 2020 gun and drug bust in Georgia.

More recently, the rapper made headlines after welcoming a son with Iggy Azalea.

The pair, who dated from 2018 until their split in 2020, broke up over Carti’s alleged infidelity, according to Azalea.

“I’m raising my son alone & I’m not in a relationship,” the “Fancy” hitmaker clarified at the time.

‘That’s So Raven’ star Orlando Brown arrested for domestic violence

Orlando Brown was arrested in Ohio on Thursday for misdemeanor domestic violence.

The “That’s So Raven” alum was apprehended after the Lima Police Department “got a call about a fight in progress,” according to TMZ.

The outlet reported on Friday that the actor’s alleged altercation was with a family member or another person living in the home, noting that Brown has been in Ohio for more than one month.

The arrest comes four years after the 35-year-old made headlines for an intervention-style interview with Dr. Phil McGraw.

The arrest took place in Ohio on Thursday, according to TMZ.
Allen County Sheriff’s Office

The “Dr. Phil” appearance came at the end of a tumultuous year for Brown, in which he was arrested in nearly every other month of 2018 for charges ranging from burglary and drug possession to resisting a public officer and domestic battery.

He also made headlines for getting his former co-star Raven Symoné’s face tattooed on his chest in May of that year.

In September 2018, the rapper spent time in jail after pleading no contest to trying to change the locks on his friend’s restaurant doors and possessing narcotics.

Brown was arrested multiple times in 2018.

The “Proud Family” alum wore snake-eye contacts while speaking to McGraw about his time behind bars, claiming that he was “locked [up] for no reason and set up.”

Brown went on to say that he didn’t want to “dedicate another 90 days” to treatment for his addiction struggles away from his family.

The “Family Matters” alum explained at the time that he aimed to “jump back into that life” of fatherhood and “figure out who everybody is.”

However, he gave the talk show host different names and ages for his brood throughout the conversation, also saying he had a 2-year-old “on the way” in wife Danielle Brown’s stomach.

Earlier this year, the songwriter reflected on the December 2018 interview, sharing his apologies and thanking McGraw for “opening the door to show people that actually think they don’t need help to go get help.”

He went on to tell Cam Capone in August that he has been “on the hideout” ever since the viral conversation, saying, “I’m just waiting to die at this point. But realistically, I have goals.”

I’m happy now that my abusive ex is dead

DEAR ABBY: I have been a widow for six months. My late husband was a physically and verbally abusive alcoholic. I spent numerous nights in the ER waiting to be seen and nursed many black eyes throughout the years. During all those years of abuse, which was witnessed by numerous friends and family, I remained faithful and dedicated to him and our marriage, but due to the toxicity of our relationship I was severely depressed and needed antidepressants. I tried many times to get him help and had family interventions, only to end up being threatened with getting all my teeth knocked out.

My dilemma is that one of our friends has become more than just a friend. This man is a kind, caring individual and has done more for me this last couple of weeks than my husband did my entire marriage. I have been so happy recently, but I feel guilty for feeling this way and wonder if I should be ashamed for not grieving longer. I feel maybe I’m doing something wrong by being happy and not having to deal with the abuse. What do you think? — SURVIVOR IN VIRGINIA

DEAR SURVIVOR: What I think is that you should be grateful you are free of your abusive late husband. I see no reason why you should feel guilty for not grieving the death of that disturbed individual. That said, it’s very important you take your time before getting into another exclusive relationship. You are extremely vulnerable now. You need to heal from the years of abuse you experienced, and possibly receive counseling to ensure you don’t drift toward the “familiar” or overlook warning signs of another potential abuser.

DEAR ABBY: My husband’s brother and his family live out of state. They never invite my husband’s parents to spend any holiday with them. In fact, they initiate no visits with them at all or travel to the area where we live. (We live in the same city as my in-laws).

My dilemma: I do not want to have my husband’s parents at our house for every holiday dinner we host. My children are getting older (one is married), and we don’t see them often. Sometimes I want to get together with just our immediate family, but then I feel guilty if I don’t ALWAYS include the in-laws. I think my husband’s brother should step up to the plate and invite his parents for at least one holiday. I don’t think it’s fair to expect us to always have them at our house. What do you think? — NEEDING A BREAK IN OHIO

DEAR NEEDING: I agree that this pattern — established heaven knows how long ago — has placed an unfair burden on you. Your husband is long overdue for a conversation with his brother to see if something can be worked out. However, if your brother-in-law is unwilling, you may have to have your smaller family celebrations the night before or night after the holiday.

Mission NGO defends Johnny Depp amid Amber Heard allegations

A women’s abuse group voiced support for Johnny Depp Friday — joining a growing chorus of the actor’s female friends and co-stars who have defended him amid claims he physically and sexually abused ex Amber Heard.

Mission NGO, a non-profit that fights violence against women and children worldwide, expressed “compassion” for the 58-year-old “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor.

“As women, as mothers, we have the duty and the responsibility to educate our sons and daughters … without any gender distinction, in order to prevent violence,” Valeria Altobelli, the group’s president, said in a statement.

“[It is with] deep respect for the victims of domestic abuses that we have to affirm … our compassion for Johnny Depp in this bad page of his personal history.”

The group didn’t elaborate, or immediately return a request for comment Friday.

The statement came a day after music producer Bruce Witkin testified that Depp used drugs and alcohol to cope with emotional pain. Depp has previously testified that his mom, Betty Sue Palmer, physically and psychologically abused him.

On Thursday, singer Courtney Love and actress Eva Green also defended Depp as a caring person — despite Heard’s testimony that he threatened to kill her and once broke her nose in a jealous rage.

Love posted a video on Twitter describing how Depp rushed to save her from a drug overdose at a nightclub in the 90s and was sweet to her daughter, Frances Bean.

“I don’t really wanna make judgments publicly, but I just want to tell you that Johnny gave me CPR in 1995 when I overdosed outside the Viper Room with Sal. Johnny, when I was on crack and Frances was having to suffer through that with social workers, wrote her a four-page letter that she’s never showed me on her 13th birthday. He didn’t really know me,” she said.

Green, meanwhile, said she had no doubt Depp will “emerge” victorious in the trial.

“I have no doubt Johnny will emerge with his good name and wonderful heart revealed to the world, and life will be better than it ever was for him and his family,” Green, who starred with Depp in the 2012 fantasy “Dark Shadows,” wrote on Instagram.

Other female celebrities — including Sia, Wynona Ryder, Helena Bonham and Penélope Cruz — spoke out on Depp’s behalf during his UK libel trial in 2020.

“The idea that he is an incredibly violent person is the farthest thing from the Johnny I knew and loved,” Ryder, a former girlfriend of Depp, said in 2020. “He was never, never violent towards me. He has never been violent or abusive towards anybody I have seen.”

Cruz added, “I’ve seen Johnny in so many situations and he is always kind to everyone around. He is one of the most generous people I know,” she said.

Heard previously declared she was a “public figure representing domestic abuse,” in an opinion article published in The Washington Post in 2018.

The musician Sia also defended Depp in a tweet at the time, writing “Just showing my public support for Johnny Depp.

“I mean, I’d love him to get clean and stop with the jewellery, but he is clearly the victim after hearing those tapes.”

In the UK case, Depp sued the publisher of the UK Sun’s over a headline calling him a “wife-beater” and lost.

Depp is now suing Heard for $50 million for claiming in a Washington Post op-ed that she was a victim of domestic violence.
