Kim Kardashian look-alike on Drake’s latest cover art revealed

Yes indeed, that was just a Kim Kardashian look-alike.

Drake sent Twitter into a frenzy Thursday after releasing the cover art for his latest single, “Search & Rescue,” which seemingly features an image of him and the “Kardashians” star in matching motorcycle helmets.

However, TMZ confirmed Friday that the mystery woman was actually an artist named Lilah, who just so happens to bare a striking resemblance to the reality TV star.

Although it seemed unlikely that Kardashian would pose with ex-husband Kanye West’s frenemy, Drake did sample her voice in the song.

Fans previously suspected it was Kim Kardashian given the fact Drake used an audio clip of her in the song.

In fact, Drake savagely used a clip of Kardashian speaking about her divorce from West on the 2021 series finale of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”

“I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy. Remember that,” the reality star, 42, said in the audio.

Around that same time, West accused Drake of acting like he had hooked up with his now ex-wife — which she denied.

“It’s like somebody throwing a marble and hiding their hand,” West added on “Drink Champs” at the time.

Drake’s decision to reignite the feud shocked many fans given the fact the pair seemed to bury the hatchet in November 2021.

Fans suspected that Drake used a Kardashian look-alike to upset rival Kanye West.

At the time, West posted a photo with Drake alongside music executive J. Prince in Toronto. He captioned the post with a “dove” emoji to emphasize the peace made between them.

However, on Drizzy’s newest album, “Her Loss,” the rapper inferred that the meeting meant nothing to him.

“Linking with the opps, b—h, I did that s—t for J. Prince,” he rapped on the track “Circo Loco.”

Drake and West have beefed for years amid rumors the “Nice For What” rapper slept with Kardashian.

To which West seemingly replied in a since-deleted tweet last year.

“Enough already I done gave this man his flowers multiple times. Let’s really see who [our] real opps are in this music game. Imagine all the rappers on the same side and everyone cleaning up each other’s contracts. It’s kingdom time. Love Drake,” Ye wrote.

Meanwhile, Drake’s father, Dennis, has tried to reassure fans that “it’s just a song” and his son is “not trolling” West.

Rochester concert venue where 2 died in stampede has license denied

The license of a Rochester, New York, concert venue was revoked Wednesday while authorities investigate the circumstances of a stampede after a rap concert that left two women dead and injured several other concertgoers.

“It is one step we can immediately take to ensure that the events of Sunday night are not repeated,” Police Chief David M. Smith said at a news conference.

He said he denied the Main Street Armory’s application to renew its one-year entertainment license after the venue’s owner did not attend a scheduled meeting with police and other city officials.

Rhondesia Belton, 33, of Buffalo and Brandy Miller, 35, of Rochester were fatally injured when audience members surged dangerously toward the exits following a Sunday evening performance by Memphis, Tennessee, rap stars GloRilla and Finesse2tymes.

Police Chief David M. Smith signed an order denying the renewal of the Main Street Armory’s Entertainment License.

Police on Monday said the stampede may have been triggered by unfounded fears of gunfire.

But police found no immediate evidence of gunshots.

One woman remained hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday.

Smith said the city planned to meet with the venue’s owner Wednesday to ask him to choose between voluntarily halting events or having the pending renewal of the entertainment license denied.

When the owner did not attend, the chief signed an order prohibiting the armory from hosting “any public entertainment, which includes concerts, amplified music, and athletic events or games, including volleyball or cheerleading.”

There was no response to an email requesting comment sent to the Main Street Armory.

“Your contracted event security guards were unable to control the crowd as they were running, which in turn caused a human stampede,” according to the city’s letter to Scott Donaldson, which said he had violated a licensing requirement to maintain order at the site.

The city’s deputy corporation counsel, Patrick Beath, said criminal and regulatory investigations are under way.

“In addition to the police investigation, the Rochester Fire Department and code enforcement teams are inspecting the building and reviewing photographic and video evidence of the concert to determine if there were any fire code or building code violations at the property,” Beath said at the news conference.

The fortress-like armory was built from 1905 to 1907 and was initially used by the U.S. Army.

It hosted sporting events throughout the 20th century before being shut down for several years starting in the late 1990s, partly because it lacked a fire-suppression system at the time.

It began hosting concerts and other events in 2005 after undergoing extensive renovations.

Smith said its main arena is meant to have a capacity of about 5,000 people.

“The bottom line is, lives were lost, and we need to take steps to make sure that no lives are lost in the future if this was indeed something that was preventable,” he said.

Fatal crowd surges at large events have turned deadly before, including one at a 2021 concert by rapper Travis Scott in which 10 people died.

Rapper GloRilla speaks out after two dead in concert stampede

Rapper GloRilla has spoken out after two women died and another was critically injured after being trampled at a rap concert in New York Sunday night.

“I am devastated & heartbroken over the tragic deaths that happened after Sunday’s show,” the 23-year-old musician tweeted Monday night.

“My fans mean the world to me 😢praying for their families & for a speedy recovery of everyone affected 🙏🏽.”

The Tennessee native performed at the Main Street Armory in Rochester when concertgoers believed they heard shots fired — causing the crowd to panic and flee.

The “F.N.F.” hitmaker went to Twitter early Monday morning before reports of deaths were confirmed, tweeting, “I’m just now hearing about what happened wtf. “Praying everybody is ok.”

Responding officers arrived at the scene at about 11 p.m. and determined that none of the injuries were consistent with gunfire.

“We do not have any evidence of gunshots being fired or of anyone being shot or stabbed at the scene,” Police Chief David M. Smith said Monday.

Three adults were rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital, where one of them, a 33-year-old Buffalo woman later identified as Rhondesia Belton, was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Police later announced that a 35-year-old woman had also died. Her name was not immediately released.

A third woman remained in critical condition, with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Seven more concert-goers were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Rochester Police say GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes were performing when people thought they heard gunfire inside the venue around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

While there is no evidence of gunfire, police are investigating several possible causes of the fatal surge, including “possibly crowd size, shots fired, pepper spray and other contributing factors.”

Rochester Mayor Malik Evans called the fatal stampede “totally unacceptable.”

“We are going to hold people accountable for what happened last night, period,” he said Monday. “I intend to get to the bottom of this.”

The incident echoes the deadly Nov. 5, 2021 stampede at Travis Scott’s Astroworld festival in Houston, where 10 concertgoers, including children, died and hundreds were injured.

Iggy Azalea reacts to ex Playboi Carti’s arrest: ‘Warned you’

Iggy Azalea reacted to the “serial abuse” of ex Playboi Carti after he was arrested for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend during a heated argument back in December.

“Been there. Done that. Warned you,” the “Fancy” rapper — whose real name is Amethyst Kelly — tweeted Tuesday after news of her ex’s detainment surfaced.

“Imagine having a pregnant girlfriend and pretending they don’t exist until it comes out [that] you like to abuse them too,” she wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Azalea, 32, then alleged that Carti — whose real moniker is Jordan Carter — “rarely” visits their 2-year-old son, Onyx, because he’s “running from whatever problems ya got going on in Atlanta & the press with your serial abuse of woman (sic).”

“Been there. Done that. Warned you,” she tweeted Tuesday.

The Australian musician concluded her message, writing, “Anyway. I’m having an actually amazing day! karmas real! Treat the people you love well! Happy Valentine’s Day.”

According to TMZ, the “Magnolia” rapper, 26, was arrested for felony aggravated assault in Georgia for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend during an argument about a paternity test on Dec. 20, 2022.

The woman, whose identity has not been revealed, told authorities that Carti “grabbed her by the throat and pushed her, holding her neck until she could barely breathe,” per an arrest affidavit obtained by the outlet. She also told police that she “thought she was going to die.”

The alleged victim said the argument began when she tried to talk to the “Miss the Rage” rapper about the baby when a conversation about a paternity test led to things becoming physical.

When cops arrived, they reportedly noticed “visible injuries” to the woman’s “neck, chest and back.”

The woman — who was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged incident — told authorities that she and Carti had been dating for two years and that she has lived with him since the summer.

Carti’s attorney, Brian Steel, told TMZ: “Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.”

Carti’s reps did not respond to Page Six’s calls for comment.

‘Superfly’ actor Kaalan Walker sentenced to 50 years to life in prison for rape charges

A Los Angeles-based rapper who acted in the 2018 movie “SuperFly” was sentenced Monday to 50 years to life in prison after he was convicted of sexually assaulting seven victims — including three minors.

Kaalan Walker, 27, was also ordered to register as a lifetime sex offender for the series of crimes dating back to 2013, according to City News Service.

The performer was convicted of three counts of forcible rape, two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, two counts of rape of an intoxication victim and one count of assault with intent to commit oral copulation by a Van Nuys jury on April 18.

Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Wallace said she believes Walker is “truly a predator” for his assaults on young women and teenagers between 2013 and 2018, according to City News Service.

Walker used Instagram and Twitter to find his victims — who were often aspiring models and actresses — and lure them to locations by saying he had booked them for photo shoots and music video productions that never happened.

Instead the rapper raped as well as assaulted the women and underage girls, prosecutors said.

“When they said ‘Stop,’ he didn’t care,” Deputy District Attorney Yasmin Fardghassemi told the jury of Walker during the trial in March, the news service reported.

Walker’s attorney said he didn’t force the women and girls and that they were seeking revenge against his client for the false promises he made of music shoots and opportunities to meet his famous and well-connected friends.

The lawyer, Andrew Flier, added that the rapper’s career has been ruined and that he has suffered “a living nightmare” due to the allegations he was later convicted of.

Walker — who also appeared in the 2017 film “Kings” starring Halle Berry and Daniel Craig — was arrested in September 2018 and released on bond. He was taken into custody again after he was found guilty.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom signs bill restricting use of rap lyrics as evidence in criminal trials

Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill to restrict prosecutors from using rap lyrics as evidence against criminal defendants in California.

Newsom signed on the dotted line of a new bill — the Decriminalizing Artistic Expression Act, also known as AB 2799 — on Friday, which advocates say will help protect artistic expression in hip-hop and rap.

The bill was approved by state lawmakers in August after mass backlash over the imprisonment of some big names in rap, including Young Thug, Gunna, and the late rapper Drakeo the Ruler.

Used as evidence against them were their song lyrics, as prosecutors alleged Young Thug formed a street gang and promoted it through his songs

A trial date is expected to take place on Jan. 9, 2023.

The case echoed that of late rapper Drakeo the Ruler, who was facing first-degree murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit murder charges before his death in Dec. 2021.

The LA-based rapper, who was 28 when he died, had lyrics from his song “Flex Freestyle” pulled as evidence he killed a 24-year-old man. He was later acquitted.

Rappers Tyga, Meek Mill, Killer Mike, Too $hort, Ty Dolla $ign, YG, and E-40, were virtually present when Newsom signed the bill.

The signing was also virtually attended by Calif. Rep. Reggie Jones-Sawyer and Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of The Recording Academy.

“For too long, prosecutors in California have used rap lyrics as a convenient way to inject racial bias and confusion into the criminal justice process,” Dina LaPolt, co-founder of Songwriters of North America, said in a statement, according to Variety.

“This legislation sets up important guardrails that will help courts hold prosecutors accountable and prevent them from criminalizing Black and Brown artistic expression. Thank you, Gov. Newsom, for setting the standard. We hope Congress will pass similar legislation, as this is a nationwide problem.”

“Not having this legislation has allowed people to utilize people’s creativity and lyrics against them when we know that’s not fair,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said ahead of the signing. “I don’t think anybody in the studio when they’re in their cars in their garage or when they’re writing music, they shouldn’t be thinking about, ‘Is this going to be something that I shouldn’t say in art and music?’”

“We should be able to express ourselves. We should be able to say things that are on our minds and our hearts or in our imaginations without fear of somebody bringing this up in a courtroom,” he added.

Rapper Mystikal pleads not guilty to rape, drug charges

NEW ORLEANS — The Grammy-nominated rapper Mystikal pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges accusing him of raping and choking a woman at his home in Louisiana and of possessing several drugs.

The 51-year-old performer whose given name is Michael Tyler is innocent of all charges, attorney Joel Pearce said after the arraignment in Ascension Parish court in Gonzales, about 15 miles from Baton Rouge.

The charges include first-degree rape, which carries an automatic life sentence.

Pearce said he has not been able to get copies of the two indictments, but they were read aloud in court.

Charges also include simple criminal damage to property, false imprisonment, domestic abuse battery by strangulation, simple robbery, possession of heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine and Xanax, and possession of drug paraphernalia, he said.

“My client doesn’t even do drugs, so he has absolutely no idea what they were talking about,” Pearce said in a telephone interview during his 250-mile (402-kilometer) drive from Gonzales to Shreveport.

Mystikal pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, on charges accusing him of raping and choking a woman.

He said bond may be discussed at a hearing Oct. 17. Prosecutors said they plan to bring up Tyler’s 2003 guilty plea to sexual battery and extortion as evidence of prior crimes, said Pearce.

Tyler and two bodyguards had videotaped themselves in sex acts with Tyler’s hairstylist. The prosecutor in that case, Sue Bernie, said in 2003 that the woman told investigators that Tyler accused her of stealing $80,000 worth of his checks and told her he would not go to police if she did something “degrading.” The woman denied stealing any money, Bernie said.

A letter in court records before Tyler’s sentencing stated that he had paid the woman $350,000.

He served six years in prison on that conviction, which came the same year that he was nominated for two Grammy awards. He also received a Grammy nomination in 2001.

Pearce said he doesn’t know what the woman who is now accusing Tyler allegedly was robbed of, but the criminal damage charge accuses him of breaking the band of her Apple watch.

Pearce represented Tyler on rape and kidnapping charges that prosecutors in northwest Louisiana dropped in December 2020. Those charges, brought in 2017, had kept Tyler jailed nearly 18 months before he was released on $3 million bond.

“People keep saying it’s his third time to be charged” with rape, Pearce said, but Tyler pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in Baton Rouge. “And in Caddo Parish, after a grand jury indicted him, they un-indicted him.”

Mystikal told The Associated Press in April 2021 that he used to be “a nasty lil’ rapper” but now is proud of lyrics he can imagine rapping to God.

Rapper Notorious B.I.G’s mural vandalized in NYC

A mural honoring legendary rapper Notorious B.I.G was vandalized in Brooklyn overnight on Friday, according to local reports.

Police are searching for the vandal responsible for the heinous act that took place on the corner of St. James Place and Fulton Street in Clinton Hill, the area where the rapper, whose real name is Christopher Wallace, grew up.

The mural of the ‘Hypnotize’ artist was tagged with dark red spray paint with “East Coast” across Wallace’s face.

The Notorious B.I.G mural was originally created by Vincent Ballentine to celebrate the East Coast rapper’s 25th anniversary of his death.
Matthew McDermott

Artist Vincent Ballentine created the art piece 2019 and hangs on the wall of a Beauty World salon where Biggie spent much of his youth, according to Complex.

“Oh the disrespect, Ballentine posted on Instagram, showing the destruction. “The disrespect is real. Damn shame. Why did they do that?”

Ballentine told CBS News he vowed to fix the mural that he initially made to celebrate the East Coast rapper’s 25th anniversary of his death.

“So for this to happen, people are coming by saying ‘Damn, they did it dirty.’ It’s bigger than me. It’s big period, I don’t know what else to say,” Ballentine told the outlet.

Notorious B.I.G died on March 9, 1997 when he was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. He was 24 years old.

New York City mayor Eric Adams condemned the vandalism in an NY1 News interview, saying the artwork was going to get “cleaned up and repaired.”

“Biggie is a hero to our community, and that’s darn sure not how you spread love the Brooklyn way, as Biggie would say,” Adams said. “We’re going to look into that and make sure that mural is cleaned up and repaired because this has a place there and it remains there, and we want to find the person responsible.”
