Vivo V29 Series, Vivo X90 Series and More Models Go on Sale a Discounted Prices During Its Diwali Sale

Vivo is offering a host of enticing deals and discounts on several of its smartphone models in India as part of its Diwali offers. The company announced a range of cashback and other lucrative offers on some of its most popular models. Starting from November 1, the offers are available in India until November 15. These offers can be accessed through Vivo’s online and offline retail platforms. One of the smartphones that can be bought at a cheaper rate than its usual pricing with this offer is the Vivo Y200, which was launched in the country last month.

The company announced that the Vivo X90 series models – Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro, will be available with cashback offers of up to Rs. 10,000, while the Vivo V29 series phones – Vivo V29 and Vivo V29 Pro can be purchased with a Rs. 4,000 discount if customers use ICICI, SBI, HSBC, Yes Bank, Bank of Baroda, IDFC First Bank, or OneCard cards at the time of purchase. The prices of these phones can also be lowered by up to Rs. 8,000 with an exchange offer.

Notably, the company is also extending its cashback offers to some of the Y-series models. The Vivo Y200, for example, can be bought with a cashback offer of up to Rs. 2,500. The Vivo Y56 and the Vivo Y27 can be bought with up to Rs. 1,000 discountt via a cashback offer. You can avail of this offer while purchasing the specified Vivo Y-series models if you choose to pay through either ICICI, SBI, Kotak Mahindra, OneCard, or AU Small Finance bank cards, according to the company.

Aside from these cashback offers, all the abovementioned models — aside from the Vivo Y27 — can be bought with an easy EMI option, starting at Rs. 101, according to Vivo. All customers are also being offered a discount of up to 40 percent on Vivo V-shield plans, during the ongoing Diwali sale.

The Vivo X90 starts in India at Rs. 59,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the sole 12GB + 256GB Vivo X90 Pro model is priced at Rs. 84,999. The 8GB + 128GB option of the Vivo V29 is listed at Rs. 32,999, while the Pro model starts at Rs. 39,999. The base Vivo Y200 model is priced in India at Rs. 21,999, while the Vivo Y56 5G and the Vivo Y27 are listed at Rs. 19,999 and Rs. 14,999, respectively.

Funtouch OS 14 Update Launched: Here’s a List of Eligible Vivo and Iqoo Smartphones

Vivo has launched its new software update, the Funtouch OS 14, which is based on the recently launched Android 14. The company has also confirmed a list of smartphones that are scheduled to receive the update over the coming few months – including both Vivo and Iqoo handsets. The update introduces a significant number of upgrades and new features over the preceding software. Starting in October, the rolling out of the Funtouch OS 14 Beta version is spread over the next few months leading up to April 2024.

Smooth Envision is a new feature introduced with Funtouch OS 14 that claims to enhance the overall performance of the system including increasing speed and optimising RAM usage. For devices with 8GB or more RAM, this ability allows users to free up to 600MB of space, facilitating multitasking. Meanwhile, the App Retainer is said to make sure that whitelisted apps are constantly available for use.

The Motion Blur feature of the new OS update claims to offer more fluid visual transitions while launching and shutting apps, even on models with a 60Hz refresh rate. This update also allows up to 12 small windows to remain active in the background. The Funtouch OS 14 also supports side-swipe suspension and introduces a new non-interactive mini small window mode for when users need to monitor a certain app while playing it over others.

The update also introduces a list of new styles, fonts and themes for the lock screen and always-on display. This also comes with video editing tools which help users to create content without the help of a third-party application. It has also updated the gallery browsing experience by allowing users more tools like choosing the video playback speed or loop videos.

The FuntouchOS 14 has also brought along the Smart Mirroring feature, allowing users to share their screen without revealing personal data in the notification bar. Users can also choose to protect some of their photos and videos with an added password verification in this new update.

Vivo V29 Pro and Vivo V29 were launched in India on Wednesday (October 4). The latest V-series smartphones from the Chinese smartphone brand flaunt 6.78-inch AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. The vanilla Vivo V29 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, while the Vivo V29 Pro has a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC under the hood. The Vivo 29 series run on Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13 and pack triple rear cameras. They come as a successor to the Vivo V27 series that debuted in the country in March. Both models pack 50-megapixel selfie shooters, backed by 4,600mAh battery units with 80W fast charging support.

The Vivo V29 Pro price in India has been set at Rs. 39,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The top-end model with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage has a price tag of Rs. 42,999. It is offered in Himalayan Blue and Space Black shades. The Vivo V29, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 32,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model and Rs. 36,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It comes in Himalayan Blue, Majestic Red and Space Black colour options.

They are currently up for pre-booking in the country through Flipkart, Vivo’s online store and offline retail partners. The delivery of Vivo V29 Pro is slated to begin from October 10, while the regular model will be available starting October 17.

The dual SIM (nano) Vivo V29 Pro run FunTouch OS 13 based on Android 13 and features a 6.78-inch 1.5K (1,260×2,800 pixels) 3D curved AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 1,300 nits of peak brightness and up to 2160Hz PWM dimming. Vivo has packed 256GB of inbuilt storage on the Vivo V29 Pro. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS, Beidu, GLONASS, Galileo, Navic, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, gyroscope and proximity sensor. Further, it has an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication.

The Vivo V29 Pro is backed by a 4,600mAh battery with 80W fast charging. The fast-charging technology is claimed to fill the battery from zero to 50 percent in as little as 50 minutes. It measures 164×74.37×7.4mm and weighs 188 grams.
