Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Display Might Not Be as Bright as OnePlus 12, Leaked Specifications Suggest

Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) recently leaked some of the display specifications of the OnePlus 12 on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging website. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Might Drop 10x Telephoto Camera, But Retain 100x Digital Zoom

Samsung Galaxy S24 series with the —vanilla Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra —is expected to go official early next year. Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Could Launch Early Next Year; Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ May Get Deca-Core Exynos SoC

The smartphone tagged as the ‘samsung SM-S926B’ managed 2,067 points and 6,520 points in Geekbench’s single and multi-core tests respectively.

The SoC from the results appears to have a deca-core architecture. Its prime Cortex-X4 core is clocked at 3.21GHz. Meanwhile, its five Cortex-A720 performance cores have two clocked at 2.9GHz and three others clocked at 2.6GHz. Lastly, there’s four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores clocked at 1.95GHz each.

There is also new information about the next-generation Exynos 2500 SoC that has leaked out. Tipster @OreXda has suggested that the Exynos 2500 will also feature a deca-core architecture, that is different from the octa-core architecture for the same SoC, which was shared earlier.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Renders Tip Flat Display, UWB Antenna; Design Shown From All Angles

The leaked renders show the handset from all angles in a light blue shade and indicate minimal changes from this year’s Galaxy S23. It is seen with a flat frame design with slightly rounded edges and the display has a hole-punch cutout to house the selfie shooter. Further, it will reportedly include an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) antenna on the right side. If this rumour turns out to be true, this would be the first time Samsung has packed support for the UWB technology on the Galaxy S series.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra May Use EV Battery Stacking Method to Offer Longer Battery Life

Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series in February and rumours about the next-generation Galaxy S flagship smartphones have already started coming in. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is expected to go official in 2024, is tipped to come with a new EV battery technology to offer improved battery life. Samsung’s battery manufacturing division is reportedly planning to apply a capacity increase technology used in their electric car cells and inside the Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to go official alongside the vanilla Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.

According to a report by The Elec (in Korean), Samsung’s SDI division, that develops and manufactures Li-Ion batteries is looking to implement a new battery stacking method for small batteries aimed at smartphones, tablets, notebooks and other consumer electronics devices. Samsung SDI reportedly collaborated with two Chinese companies to use stacking for the manufacture of Gen 5 batteries aimed at electric cars. This stacking mechanism, borrowed from the EV industry, would tightly stack battery components like cathodes and anodes on top of each other for increased energy density.

Samsung is speculated to debut this battery technology with Galaxy S24 Ultra. Other flagship smartphones and tablets are likely to follow suit. The stacking method is said to increase energy density by over 10 percent to the traditional winding method where battery materials are rolled into jelly rolls and put in cans.
