Dhanush was supportive, Selvaraghavan’s direction helped me as actor: Elli AvrRam on Naane Varuven; EXCLUSIVE

Dhanush has completed filming for Selvaraghavan’s much-awaited film titled, Naane Varuven. The film will also see Bollywood actress Elli AvrRam making her Tamil debut. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Elli, who recently wrapped up the shoot with Dhanush and the team, called it ‘the most challenging role’ of her career so far. 

“I was very nervous and excited, and after the first day of the shoot itself, I felt very good because Dhanush was really supportive and kind to me, and that meant a lot because he’s such a big superstar and a phenomenal actor. One can tend to get nervous but he just makes sure you’re comfortable and if there’s any concern, you can express it. Even Selvaraghavan Sir is so amazing, I’ve got to grow and express more as an actor under Sir’s direction. It’s been a dream and satisfaction as an actor and I really want to work with both again,” said Elli AvrRam as she shared her experience of working with National Award winner Dhanush and his director brother Selvaraghavan. 

Elli AvrRam will also be seen playing an important role in Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Goodbye. Sharing her experience of working with Big B and a big surprise by him on the last day of the shoot, Elli AvrRam said, “I think I still can’t digest the fact that I’m acting in a movie with the one and only Amitabh Bachchan! I used to dance to sirs song Shava Shava back home in Sweden, and today I’m acting with sir! It’s just surreal for me, and the cherry on the cake is when he surprised me and Rashmika at the wrap-up party, by holding our hand and playing his song! My heart literally skipped a beat at that moment.”

Tuesday Thoughts: Abhishek Bachchan’s latest post on ‘leaning’ gets a hilarious reply from sister Shweta

Abhishek Bachchan is basking in the glory of Dasvi. The actor’s fans have flooded social media praising him for his performance in the film. While AB continues to promote the film on social media, the actor is also posing some well clicked pictures of himself. On Tuesday, he shared one such photo from the film’s promotional spree as he posed for the camera person. 

In the picture, Abhishek can be seen wearing a crisp white shirt and black cargo pants. He added a pop of colour to his entire look with a pair of yellow glasses. Abhishek also had a thought to share with his photo as he wrote, “We all need somebody to lean on.” While his fans agreed with him, Abhishek’s sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda had a hilarious comment to make as she reacted to the photo.

On the work front, Abhishek Bachchan has a few projects lined up. The actor has already resumed shooting for Breathe Season 3 with co-star Amit Sadh.

Miley Cyrus’ mom Tish files for divorce from husband Billy Ray Cyrus after 28 years of marriage

Miley Cyrus‘ mother Trish Cyrus filed for divorce from husband Billy Ray Cyrus after nearly 28 years of marriage. According to documents obtained by E! News, Tish filed court papers in Tennessee on April 6. The documents cite the reason for separation as “irreconcilable differences” and note that she and Billy Ray haven’t lived together since February 2020.  

Tish and Billy Ray tied the knot in 1993 and are parents to not only Miley, 29, but also Braison, 27, and Noah, 22. Tish also has two kids, Brandi and Trace from her previous marriage to Baxter Neal Helson. This is the second time that the couple has filed for divorce. Previously the duo filed for separation in 2010 although as per reports, the couple later reconciled after a year. 

They had also filed for divorce back in 2013 but later dismissed the case after getting back together in 2017. Previously in 2013, while announcing that they were filing for divorce, the couple had also released a statement that said, “This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”

Miley herself has also been through a tough time when it comes to relationships. The singer announced a divorce from Liam Hemsworth nearly seven months after their marriage. The couple split in August 2019. During her appearance on The Howard Stern show, Cyrus spoke about her divorce from Hemsworth and said, they split due to “too much conflict” in their marriage.

YouTuber Nikunj Lotia REACTS to viral video on Alia-Ranbir’s wedding, hilariously adds ‘Very sad for myself’

Social media is buzzing with updates about Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding. Actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are all set to tie the knot this week and fans can’t wait to get the first glimpse of the to-be-married couple together. Recently YouTuber Nikunj Lotia, popularly known by his channel name BeYouNick, shared a hilarious video on Alia-Ranbir’s wedding. The ‘Highway’ actress even commented on the post. 

In the video, Nikunj Lotia could be seen desperately running behind a car that had the banner ‘Alia weds Ranbir’ written on it. He also added a picture of his with Alia and he replaced it with Ranbir’s photo. To make it even funnier he added a sad song to the video. Alia wrote, “ded (laughing emoji)”. Now, in a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Nikunj Lotia reacted to the video and said, “I felt like I was doing this [making a video] for the first time. I got the same feeling which I got the first time a video made by me went viral.” 

He informed that Alia Bhatt commented on his videos earlier too but once he read the articles, he realised that this is the first time that she reacted to something related to her wedding. 

Meanwhile, it looks like Alia and Ranbir’s wedding prep has begun in full swing. Ranbir’s ancestral house, the Krishna Raj Bungalow, and RK Studios were decorated with lights. Pinkvilla had exclusively reported that the wedding festivities will take place between April 13 to April 17.

Daily COVID cases fall below 1000-mark; Country reports 6 deaths

On Monday, the country recorded less than 1000 new COVID-19 cases, almost after a week. A total of 861 new cases and six deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. According to the Union Ministry of Family and Welfare, the daily positivity rate is at 0.32 percent. The active cases in the country stand at 11,058 which accounts for 0.03 percent of the total cases.

According to the reports, 929 COVID patients recovered in the last 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries in the country since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,25,03,383. The rate of recovery is 98.76 percent. Meanwhile, the death toll in the country rose to 5,21,691. As far as the COVID vaccination drive is concerned, a total of 1,85,74,18,827 so far.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry had permitted the precautionary dose of COVID vaccine for all adults from April 10. The precautionary dose will be available at the private vaccination centers for all 18+ adults. The announcement was made by the Union health ministry on Friday. “It has been decided that precaution dose of COVID vaccines will be made available to 18+ population group at private vaccination centers,” read the statement. 

To note, the largest countrywide vaccination drive started in January last year with healthcare workers getting inoculated in the first phase. The second phase of the COVID vaccination drive began on March 1 for people above 60 years, while the vaccination drive for all aged more than 45 years was launched on April 1, 2021.

Doctor Strange 2: Marvel drops character posters featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen and more

 

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a month away from its release and Marvel is making sure to up your excitement for the same. Marvel has released new character posters for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The sequel to Doctor Strange is shaping up to be an enormous event film, coming on the heels of Spider-Man: No Way Home and promising even more characters from the outer corners of the multiverse.

 

However, each poster has a character’s face in the foreground, with a crimson magic mist covering portions of their features. Doctor Strange (Cumberbatch), Wanda Maximoff (Olsen), and Wong (Wong) each get their own poster, but Marvel also included images for Mordo (Ejiofor), Dr. Christine Palmer (McAdams), and America Chavez (Gomez).

While the posters do not provide any plot clues, the characters present may reveal a few. McAdams’ Christine Palmer, for example, appeared in Doctor Strange but had a tiny role. With her character featured on their own poster, it might imply that McAdams would have a larger or even more important part in the sequel.

Meanwhile, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been helmed by Sam Raimi and has been touted to be one of Marvel’s darkest films with a twist of horror in it. The film is all set to be Marvel’s first big release after Spider-Man: No Way Home which became a massive money-spinner in December. The Doctor Strange sequel releases in theatres on May 6.

Jojo Siwa CLARIFIES why she missed the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards: I wasn’t invited

Many fans noticed that the Dance Moms alum Jojo Siwa was missing on the red carpet and the event at the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday. On the same night, Jojo addressed her absence from the show through an Instagram post. The 18-year-old singer discussed why she was not present at the Award show in a video.

In the video, Jojo shared, via People, “A lot of you have been asking me why I’m not at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards tonight, and the answer is very simple — I wasn’t invited.” She went on and noted that she was unaware of why she did not receive an invite but the situation was at a standstill after that. Jojo remarked her statement in the caption and wrote, “A lot of you have been asking why I’m not at the Nickelodeon Kid [sic] Choice Awards tonight, I don’t want anyone to think it was my choice not to go…. I simply didn’t get an invite:(.”

Meanwhile, back in September 2021, Siwa revealed that Nickelodeon was preventing her from performing some of her songs on her 37-city D.R.E.A.M. tour as she tweeted and wrote, “These are MY songs, MY voice, MY writing. Does this seem fair???” She reasoned in her follow-up tweets, “There is no reason that this music should not be included.” Siwa added in another message, “Working for a company as a real human being treated as only a brand is fun until it’s not.” 

However, fans have been furious on the matter and are speculating widely on why the star was left out of such an important event when until last year she was always an attendee and was even presented with the honour of the Female Social Star at the 2021 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
