Karan Johar on getting trolled on social media: I’ve stopped caring about the negativity

Karan Johar is one of the best-known filmmakers in the Hindi film industry. From Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan has entertained his fans by giving an incredible list of films to watch over the years. Apart from his dedication to his work, Karan is quite active on social media platforms. From sharing his pictures to promoting his movies, Karan’s Instagram is full of quirky posts. However, online trolls have increased rampantly, and Karan Johar has also been subjected to it. Recently, in an interview, the prominent personality commented on the same and said that he has stopped caring about the negativity.

When Karan was pointed out that his relationship with social media has changed as earlier he used to express his opinions freely, but now he has restricted himself and his social media feed is mostly about his movies, he told Janice Sequeira, “Eventually it’s a platform that you are leveraging to build a connection with the world outside and it’s my job. I’m not here to disassociate myself from my filmmaking or for my storytelling narrative which is the most critical part of who I’m.” He added that it defines him and if he has a film release he is going to use social media as a place.

He further said that he gets trolled a lot in the comment section however he doesn’t care. He has stopped caring about the negativity and started focusing on love. “Even now when I scan through the comment section I only stare where the hearts are there. Commenting on my sexuality, commenting on what they believe I am, you know, I’ll be 50 in May and I’m so grateful for so much.” he added.

Karan added that his funda in life is very simple- “Love me, hate me for heaven’s sake don’t be indifferent to me because that’s something that might kill me. Indifference is something that I can bear”.

‘Fabulous wives’ Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, Seema Khan enjoy lunch with Farah Khan, Sajid Khan; See PICS

On Thursday, the star wives of Bollywood – Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, and Seema Khan gathered to enjoy lunch with filmmaker siblings Farah Khan and Sajid Khan. To note, Maheep, Bhavana, and Seema are best known for their appearance in the OTT series ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.’ However, the fourth star of the web series, Neelam Kothari missed the lunch, which was hosted by Seema Khan.

Seema Khan took to her Instagram account to share some candid pictures from the party, which showed her and her guests sitting in her cosy living room. She also shared a selfie, in which she was posing with Farah Khan. Seema also made a pun on a dialogue from Farah’s movie Om Shanti Om as she wrote in the caption, “Picture abhi baki hai (laughing emoji) swipe right! #chaoticbunch #kittyparty.”

Bhavana Pandey and Maheep Kapoor also shared the pictures from their fun-filled lunch. While sharing a picture, Ananya Panday’s mother Bhavana wrote, “Farah !!!! Yesterdays lunch was just rehearsal.”

Speaking about the show Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives, the show focus on the personal lives of Maheep Kapoor, Seema Khana, Bhavana Pandey, and Neelam Kothari, who are star wives of Sanjay Kapoor, Sohail Khan, Chunky Panday, and Samir Soni respectively. The reality TV show was aired on Netflix in the year 2020. The second season of the show is on the card and the lead cast is gearing up for it after the immense success of the first season.

VD11: Vijay Deverakonda photoshops ‘darling’ Samantha in official pic from the puja ceremony; Fans say EPIC

Vijay Deverakonda’s next has been announced with a formal pooja ceremony and also stars Samantha as the female lead. However, the actress couldn’t attend the event as she is currently in Dubai vacationing. As she missed the event, Vijay has come up with an idea to fulfill her space with a photoshopped image. He photoshopped her in the pic along with two other talented actors Vennela Kishore and Rahul Ramakrishna, who will also be part of the film. Vijay called it an ‘actual pooja photo’

Samantha will also star in the project alongside VD. This is their second film together. These two had earlier joined forces for the 2018 biopic Mahanati. According to reports, the film is set against the backdrop of Kashmir.  Malayalam movie Hridayam music composer, Hesham Abdul Wahab will be rendering tunes. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravishankar Yalamanchili of Mythri Movie Makers, the film is directed by Shiva Nirvana, who has previously worked with Samantha and gave the blockbuster film Majili. 

Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt, Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda are all set for the first schedule of the film in Kashmir. “From April 23, the first shooting schedule will commence in Kashmir. Post this ling schedule, which will end in May, the team will be moving to Hyderabad, Vizag and other places for the shoot,” reveals the source close to the development.

Vijay Sethupathi’s Maamanithan postponed again, gets a new release date in June

Vijay Sethupathi’s next with director Seenu Ramasamy, which was scheduled to release on May 6, has got postponed again. The makers have yet again delayed the film mentioning that due to Vijay Sethupathi’s lineup of movies, they have taken this decision. The film has now got a new release date on June 24. 

The makers took to Twitter and announced the delay of the release as they wrote, “Due to continue @VijaySethuOfflmovie releases studio9 have changed the release date of mamanithan from may 20 th to June 24 . Mamanithan deserves to hold minimum 400 theatres all over tamilnadu . Our sincere apologies to all theatre owners and distributor.”

 

Maamanithan caters to the family audience and attempts to spell out the struggles of a typical middle-class family man. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen in the role of an auto driver in the outing and Gayathri Shankar will play his wife. The film marks the fourth collaboration between director and actor and fifth between Vijay and Gayathrie. 

The film, which was completed in the early part of 2019, has been postponed many due to the pandemic and many other reasons. Maamanithan has already been cleared by the Censor Board with a clean U certificate. Bankrolled by Yuvan Shankar Raja under his YSR Productions banner, the Tamil drama will also stars, late KPAC Lalitha, and Guru Somasundaram in pivotal roles. Yuvan has provided the soundtracks of this film in association with his father Ilaiyaraaja.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi is also busy with Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas alongside Katrina Kaif and Sanjay Kapoor in the film. The star’s other ventures include filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s upcoming web series that will also have Shahid Kapoor in the lead. He is also awaiting the release of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action drama, Vikram. Headlined by Kamal Haasan, the much-talked-about film is expected to be out on March 31 this year.

Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas’ daughter named Malti Marie; Here’s the meaning, birth date and more details

Ever since Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed their first baby together via surrogate, fans have been eagerly waiting to know more details about their little one. The couple became parents to a baby girl and while the duo has remained tight-lipped about their daughter, TMZ reported that the little one’s name is Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.

Even as Priyanka and Nick are yet to confirm the news, the report shared by TMZ showcased the details to be a part of the birth certificate they obtained. As per the birth certificate, the couple’s baby’s full name has been mentioned as Malti Marie Chopra Jonas which consists of both Nick and Priyanka’s surnames. It also reveals her birthdate and birth time as “after 8 PM on January 15” in San Diego. 

After the report suggesting that Chopra and Jonas’ daughter has been named Malti Marie went viral, netizens have been discussing the meaning behind this special name.  Malti is an Indian origin name that means a small fragrant flower or moonlight in Sanskrit. As for Marie, it’s a biblical name considering it stands for Mary, the mother of Jesus in French. 

Priyanka’s daughter’s name also holds a connection to her mother Madhu Chopra. While her mother’s Instagram account reveals her full name as Madhu Akhouri Chopra, her Instagram handle says “Madhumalati.” It’s a possibility that the actress has in fact borrowed a part of her mother’s name and named her daughter. The Chopra Jonas baby girl gets a perfect name that honours the identities of both her parents and seems to hold a strong connection to both their roots. 

Priyanka and Nick had publicly announced the birth of their child on January 22, which seems to be a week after she was born. The couple is yet to officially announce their baby girl’s name on social media.

Blac Chyna denies having a ‘grudge’ against Kylie Jenner for dating her ex Tyga in her court testimony

Blac Chyna took to the stand in her lawsuit against the Kardashians for conspiring to cancel her show 2016 reality show, Rob and Chyna. At the case’s testimony hearing which began with Chyna, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner were in attendance in court.  The lawsuit filed by Blac Chyna in November 2017, alleges defamation and interference with prospective economic advantage.

During her testimony for the case, Chyna was cross-examined by lawyer Michael G. Rhodes who also asked her about holding a grudge against Kylie Jenner who dated her ex Tyga with whom she also shares a son. The 33-year-old was prompt enough to deny the claim and further added, “I have, like, no ill will against none of the ladies, actually”, via Rolling Stone.

Chyna, whose legal name is Angela White, was the first witness called in her USD 100 million lawsuit claiming the Kardashian-Jenner women lied about her and ruined her TV career. 

During the hearing, Chyna also admitted to picking up a gun and touching the charging cord to Rob’s neck but maintained that it was done “jokingly” during a celebration related to an announcement that Rob & Chyna had been picked up, at least unofficially, for a second season. Speaking in court, she admitted that she handled the weapon, but claimed it was a “silly” moment adding that Rob was on FaceTime with some friends at the time and that no one was alarmed by her actions. Chyna is again set to take the witness stand on Thursday in the continuing trial.

A$AP Rocky released from jail after posting USD 550,000 bail bond: Reports

A$AP Rocky has been released from jail following his arrest at LAX airport. Rocky was booked and released Wednesday on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon, related to an alleged incident that took place in November 2021. The rapper’s release was confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department as reported by Entertainment Tonight. 

A$AP Rocky, whose birth name is Rakim Mayers recently returned from a vacation in Barbados where he was accompanying his pregnant girlfriend, Rihanna. During his return from the same, the rapper was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport at 8:20 am on Wednesday morning. Rocky was released after posting a bail bond of USD 555, 000. Following his arrest, he was reportedly investigated by the Homicide division. 

According to Entertainment Tonight, a court date has been set for Rocky on August 17 at the LAX Superior Courthouse.  Reports also suggest that following his arrest, the LAPD carried out a search warrant of the rapper’s Los Angeles home. Rocky had recently flown to Barbados with Rihanna amid rumours of their relationship being in trouble over a cheating scandal. Although Rihanna and he put all the rumours to rest as they stepped out for date night in Barbados. 

Rihanna is currently expecting her first child with Rocky. The singer has confirmed that she’s already in her third trimester. The couple announced their pregnancy earlier this year in January. In her recent interview with Vogue, Rihanna opened up on their relationship and said that they grew closer during the pandemic.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ baby daughter named Malti Marie Chopra Jonas: Report

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announced earlier this year that the couple had welcomed their first baby together via surrogate. While the couple didn’t confirm it in their announcement, it was later revealed that the duo became parents to a baby girl. Three months since welcoming the little one, TMZ has now reported their baby daughter’s name. 

According to TMZ which reportedly obtained a birth certificate of Priyanka and Nick’s baby, their bundle of joy has been named Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. The document states that Malti was born just after 8 pm on January 15 in San Diego, California While the couple hasn’t made any confirmation yet on the baby’s name, it seems the name could a special meaning for the duo. The couple continues to honour both their traditions with their baby daughter’s name as well and hence have chosen a Hindu name as well as the middle name Marie. 

Priyanka and Nick had announced the joyous news of the couple welcoming their baby on January 21. The new parents in a simple statement announced, that they are now parents saying, “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate.” Ever since the birth of their baby daughter, the couple hasn’t made any other public statements nor have they shared any photos of their little one. 

Priyanka recently addressed her new role as a parent while speaking to close friend Lilly Singh in an interaction where she spoke about wanting to raise a child without putting any limitations on their dreams and aspirations.

‘I am sorry’: Akshay Kumar steps down as brand ambassador of elaichi brand, pledges to donate ad fee for cause

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar stepped down as a brand ambassador of a famous elaichi brand, with whom he has recently signed up, and announced the news on his official Twitter handle. For those unaware, the actor was recently seen in an advertisement of elaichi for a brand that also makes tobacco. In his tweet, Akshay also apologised his fans for endorsing the brand and also pledged to donate fee for the noble cause.

In his tweet, Akshay wrote, “I am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Akshay Kumar will be next seen in the movie Prithviraj with Manushi Chhillar. He also has Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Oh My God 2, and Gorkha in the pipeline. To note, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also stars Tiger Shroff in key role and will release on December 22, 2023. The movie will clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki.
