Redmi K60 Ultra Launch Timeline, Specifications Leaked; Tipped to Feature MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC

Redmi released their K60 series of smartphones in December 2022. The series consisted of the Redmi K60, Redmi K60 Pro, and Redmi K60E models. Redmi Fire TV With Fire OS 7, Metallic Bezel-Less Design to Launch in India on March 14

Redmi will officially launch a new smart TV in India on March 14. The Chinese electronics manufacturer confirmed the development through a press release and an official announcement on Twitter. The upcoming smart TV, named Redmi Fire TV, has been developed in collaboration with Amazon and is expected to go live on sale exclusively via the e-commerce portal. Amazon’s pre-sale page for the upcoming Redmi Fire TV also reveals some key specifications that can be expected on the home entertainment device.

According to a press release from Xiaomi, the company is gearing up to launch the Redmi Fire TV on March 14, 2023 in India. The launch event will go live at 12 PM IST on the aforementioned date. Xiaomi also followed this up with an official announcement on Twitter, which reveals that the upcoming Redmi Fire TV will come with in-built Fire TV Stick-like feature, which will allow users to access home entertainment from streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, YouTube, and more.

Amazon’s listing of the Redmi Fire TV, also reveals some key specifications for the device. The smart TV will run on Fire OS 7, Amazon’s latest operating system for Fire Stick. Redmi Fire TV will sport a metallic bezel-less design, and will be shipped in an eco-friendly packaging, Redmi claims. The TV will also come with remote that seems to be much like the one that ships with the Fire TV stick. However, we will have to wait until the actual launch on March 14 to find out whether any additional features have been included on the remote. In the image on the listing, the remote is seen carrying dedicated buttons for Netflix, Prime Video, and Amazon Music apps.

In terms of connectivity, the Redmi Fire TV will support AirPlay, Miracast, Dual Band WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.0.

MWC 2023: MIUI 14 Launched in India for Several Xiaomi, Redmi Devices; Brings New Visual Style, Redesigned System Apps

Xiaomi has announced the global release of MIUI 14, the latest version of its operating system, which adds an array of new features and optimisations to its devices. Xiaomi will be rolling out MIUI 14 Global over the coming weeks for multiple Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones. The revamped user interface featuring a more modern and minimalist layout is one of the most obvious changes in MIUI 14, the company stated. The update includes a new visual style as well as redesigned system apps. Xiaomi added that super icons, personalised wallpapers, and redesigned home screen widgets are also part of the new update.

The Chinese manufacturing giant announced the global launch of MIUI 14 alongside the launch of the Xiaomi 13 series at the MWC 2023 in Barcelona. In Q2 2023, the company added that the updated OS will roll out to Mi 10, Xiaomi 11i, Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge, Mi 10i, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 10T 5G, Redmi Note 10S, Redmi Note 10 5G, Redmi Note 10S and Redmi 9 Power. This quarter the MIUI 14 update will also roll out to Redmi Pad and Xiaomi Pad 5 devices in India.

The company will roll out the MIUI 14 update in Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10T, Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 11S, Redmi Note 11T 5G, Redmi 10 Prime 2022, Redmi 10 Prime, Redmi Note 11 and Redmi 10 in Q3 2023.

Xiaomi also unveiled the Xiaomi 13 series of smartphones, which includes the standard Xiaomi 13, the Xiaomi 13 Pro, and the Xiaomi 13 Lite. Redmi A2 Price, Specifications and Design Leaked Ahead of Launch: All Details

Redmi is reportedly working on a new A-series smartphone. The purported budget handset, tipped to be the Redmi A2, is likely to launch soon. The smartphone is likely to be the successor of the Redmi A1 model that launched in India in September last year. The A1 handset comes with a water-drop style display notch and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio A22 chipset. A 91 Mobiles report, in collaboration with tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414), claims that Redmi may soon launch the Redmi A2, a budget smartphone and a successor to the Redmi A1. The report suggests that the Redmi A2 will cost EUR 109 (roughly Rs. 9,600) in global markets for a single 2GB + 32GB RAM and storage configuration.

According to the designs cited in the report, the Redmi A2 features a waterdrop notch on the front. The volume rocker and power button are located on the right edge of the device. A square module on the back houses two camera sensors and an LED flash. The Redmi branding can be found on the back panel. The report adds that because the Redmi A2 is likely to be a low-cost phone, it may lack a physical fingerprint sensor. The phone is expected to be available in three colours – black, blue, and green.

The report suggests that the Redmi A2 is expected to have a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1600X720 pixels and a refresh rate of 60Hz, and adds that the handset could be powered by a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

The phone is most likely to run Android 12 (Go Edition) and support 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a microUSB port are all possible connectivity options, according to the report.

Redmi A1 Variant With MediaTek Helio P35 SoC Surfaces on US FCC Certification Website: Report

According to a Xiaomiui report, a new budget Redmi device has surfaced on the US FCC certification website. The new Redmi handset has the model number 23026RN54G and the certificate clearly mentions that the change between the new model and the older one (220733SL) is the platform, which has moved from a MediaTek Helio A22 (MT6761) to a MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765X). This indicates that the Redmi A1 could soon be getting an update with a more powerful MediaTek Helio P35 processor.

The report also states that this upcoming device is codenamed “water” and that it will run Android 13 out-of-the-box, citing data from the FCC. It also points out that the device will run the Android 13 (Go edition) which has already been readied for the upcoming device as MIUI V14.0.1.0.TGOMIXM.

The development of the Android 13 software for the handset also suggests that the smartphone could be announced soon. It’s unclear whether this upcoming Redmi device (which is expected to debut as an upgraded version of the Redmi A1) will sport the same cosmetic design as the previous model.

Poco X5 Pro 5G Appears on BIS, NBTC and EEC Listing Ahead of Rumoured India Launch: Report

Redmi 12C to Launch in India in February, May Get MediaTek Helio G85 SoC: Report

Redmi 12C was launched as a low-cost smartphone in China late last year. According to a new report, the phone will be available in India next month. The Indian unit should have the same design and specifications as the Chinese variant. The Redmi 12C is expected to be released in India before the MWC 2023 in Barcelona, which is scheduled to take place between February 27 and March 2. It will most likely have the same hardware configuration as its Chinese counterpart. The Redmi 12C, the successor to the Redmi 10C, is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.

According to a 91mobiles report, the Redmi 12C will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC coupled with a Mali-G52 GPU. It will have up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Redmi 12C that launched in China features a 6.71-inch HD+ (1,650×720 pixel) display with a 20:6:9 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The phone also sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary and a 0.08-megapixel depth sensor.

The Redmi 12C’s official global launch date, Indian pricing, and other details are still unknown. The device also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro-USB charging port for its 5,000mAh battery. A 10W charging adapter is included with the Redmi 12C.

The base 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage model of the recently launched Redmi 12C budget smartphone costs CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 8,400). The 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage model costs CNY 799 (roughly Rs. 9,600), while the top-tier 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model costs CNY 899 (roughly Rs. 10,800).

The Redmi 12C comes with a hybrid dual SIM (Nano) slot. The device has LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash memory. The Redmi 12C’s storage can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card on all three internal storage variants. The back of the phone has a square cutout that houses a pill-shaped single camera and an LED flash. A fingerprint scanner for biometric verification is located next to the camera module.

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi’s budget offering is available for purchase in China via the company’s official sale website, Mi.com. The Redmi 12C is available in four different colours: Shadow Black, Sea Blue, Mint Green, and Lavender (translated). The smartphone has very thin bezels. The chin, on the other hand, is quite thick.
