New OTT Releases This Week: Rebel Moon Part 2, Article 370, All Indian Rank and More

The biggest release for this week undoubtedly has to be Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver, a direct sequel to the sci-fi thriller Rebel Moon, where a group of warriors attempt to wage a war against the tyrannical Motherworld and save what is left of their home planet. Synder has already planned for four more movies from the franchise.

On the home front, Manoj Bajpayee’s sequel crime thriller Silence 2 seems to be the only new major release. However, we have Yami Gautam starrer Article 370 and Varun Grover’s All India Rank to balance. While the former is a highly political drama based in Kashmir, Grover’s latest explores the lives of JEE aspirants enrolled in Kota’s coaching centres.

However, if you are in the mood for a no-brainer, we recommend Prime Video’s reality television series Going Home with Tyler Cameron, in which the American television personality enters into the home renovation space and starts his construction and home renovation company after the sudden demise of his mother.

Those looking for something hilarious should watch British-Irish comedian Jimmy Carr’s latest Netflix special, Natural Born Killer. In it, he candidly discusses the audience’s taking offence at almost everything, whether it is jokes on gun control, religion, cancel culture, or consent.

Documentary lovers could go for Our Living World on Netflix, which takes one to the hidden corners of the Arctic, Amazon, and more where wildlife exists. From the rhythm of their everyday lives to the impact of climate change, explore the best-kept secrets of nature with this documentary series.

K-drama lovers can watch Chief Detective 1958 on Hotstar, which follows a detective and his team. The crime thriller serves as a prequel to the series Chief Inspector.

The film stirred controversy because of its convenient theatrical release during the elections. The political thriller still runs in theatres in some parts of the country. The film is directed by Aditya Dhar, who earlier helmed Vicky Kaushal starrer patriotic drama Uri: The Surgical Strike.

National Award-winning lyricist Varun Grover lays bare an unsettling side of the coaching centres in Kota, the mecca for all engineering enthusiasts, with the story of a 17-year-old Vivek (Bodhisattva Sharma) who has just been admitted here. He hails from a typical middle-class family, which has all their hopes of a better life thrust on his young shoulders, who are expected to crack the competitive exam with flying colours and be admitted to IIT, the most prestigious engineering college chain in India.

Grover has beautifully captured the everyday lives in these hostels and, of course, the aspirations, dreams, fears and the smallest nuances of emotional turbulences faced by the students. The film marks Grover’s directorial debut and makes a decent attempt at decoding why Kota might be a hotpot of so many students committing suicide each year.

Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout

Manoj Bajpayee reprises the role of ACP Verma from Silence in this sequel film. While he dealt with a high-profile murder case in the first part, he is at the cusp of uncovering a heinous crime racket this time, as he attempts to catch hold of a man who killed 10 people in a bar. He still quotes poetry, wears rowdiness on his sleeves, and has a complex persona. Although Bajpayee has aced the role, the film doesn’t seem to offer much opportunity for the refined actor to flaunt his talent.

See You in Another Life

Where: Hotstar

See You in Another Life follows the story of a teenage drug peddler who ends up trafficking explosives used in the terrorist attacks across various train stations in Madrid in March 2004, causing more than 193 deaths. The intriguing thriller is based on Manuel Jabois’ book featuring an actual interview with a teenage boy called Gabriel Montoya Viday, who was also the first person convicted for the attacks. The six-episode-long mini-series attempts to explore the psyche of similar young people besides the obvious execution of the attack in totality.

The raging alcoholic flop actor takes this role of a lifetime too seriously and immediately steals the show. Get ready for lots of laughter in this light-hearted comedy by Peter Farrelly.

Poacher, Avatar the Last Bender, Screen Actor Guild Awards and More: New OTT Releases This Week to Binge Watch This Weekend

Although there is just one Indian-original release this week in the form of Alia Bhatt produced Poacher — based on illegal ivory poaching in India — we also have quite a few other big names from across genres. For starters, Netflix will host the Screen Actor Guild Awards live for the first time, touted as a grand experiment for the streaming platform. The awards will start streaming at 5:00 am (IST).

Another high-budget release is Avatar: The Last Airbender, a live-action adaptation of the popular series of the same name on Netflix. However, if you have followed the original series back in the day, chances are high that you might not be as impressed with the adaptation. The series has attracted mixed reviews from critics and ardent fans.

Next, we have the final season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch on Disney+ Hotstar, in which the eponymous Bad Batch’s limits are tested.

On the international shore, there is Through My Window 3: Looking At You, the final chapter of the Spanish romance trilogy. It follows the typical romantic dilemmas and the inability to move on after separation. If you haven’t already binged on the first two parts, you can find them both on Netflix.

If you have an appetite for documentaries, you could go for the new British crime docu-series Can I Tell You A Secret? which gives a bone-chilling insight into a serial cyber stalker who made the life of countless women a living hell. In case you are wondering about Netflix’s documentary on the Sheena Bora murder case, which was supposed to be released on February 23, its release has been halted after the CBI pleaded to the Bombay High Court. The series is likely to premiere only after it gets a green light following a special screening of the series for the Central Bureau of Investigation (are there many cuts and edits in store?).

Avatar The Last Airbender

If you remember Nickleodeon’s mega-hit show, you already know what this new release is about. Like the original animated version, the live-action adaptation is based in a world where some people, titled Avatar, have the superpower to manipulate one of the four elements—water, earth, fire or air—through “bending”. Gordon Cormier plays the 12-year-old Aang, a prodigious Airbender who has just discovered that he is the new Avatar, and he must now master all the four elemental powers, to save the world from the Fire Nation’s tyranny. Be prepared for a lot of special effects and impressive moves in this eight-episode-long series.

30th Screen Actor Guild Awards

Netflix has long been trying to delve into the live-streaming sector. The platform made its debut in the field with sports events and recently bought rights for the streaming of WWE RAW.

Screen Actor Guild Awards could kick start a new avenue of expansion for the platform. The event will honour the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2023. While last year the ceremony was broadcast on Netflix’s YouTube channel, it is the first that Netflix will be streaming an event of this kind.

Some of the major films nominated across categories are Barbie, Maestro, Rustin, Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Color Purple and more. Among web series are Succession, The Morning Show, The Last of Us, Barry, and The Bear, among others.

The third season picks up shortly after the end of Season 2, with Omega (Michelle Ang) still under the grasp of the Empire. A lot of cliffhangers of the previous seasons are to be answered in this one.

The two new interesting terms introduced in the series are M-Count (microscopic life forms that reside in all living cells) and Project Necromancer, which revolves around securing Palpatine’s resurrection.

While this might be the final season for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, the first three episodes that the platform dropped today have confirmed multiple connections of the series with other Star Wars movies and shows, including Mandalorian. Through My Window: Looking at You

Netflix, WWE Sign Long-Term Deal to Bring Live Weekly Show WWE Raw to Streaming Platform

Netflix has acquired exclusive rights for the streaming of World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) flagship global wrestling show WWE Raw, which hits US televisions every Monday night at 8pm (Eastern Time). WWE’s current deal with NBC expires in October, post which the show will stream exclusively on Netflix, starting January 2025. Although the deal has been signed for streaming rights in the US, Latin America, the UK and Canada, Netflix has said that additional countries and regions will be added over time. WWE broadcast rights in India are currently held by Sony India and it is not yet clear if WWE Raw will make its way to the streaming giant in the country.

The deal also means that now all WWE documentaries, shows and specials outside the US, including other weekly shows like SmackDown and NXT, along with the company’s live events like WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble, will now be on Netflix.

“We are excited to have WWE Raw, with its huge and passionate multigenerational fan base, on Netflix,” Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria said in a prepared statement. “By combining our reach, recommendations, and fandom with WWE, we’ll be able to deliver more joy and value for their audiences and our members. Raw is the best of sports entertainment, blending great characters and storytelling with live action 52 weeks a year and we’re thrilled to be in this long-term partnership with WWE,” she added.

The long-term deal struck between WWE and Netflix, worth $5 billion as per Reuters, means that Raw will leave linear television for the first time in its 31-year history. “In its relatively short history, Netflix has engineered a phenomenal track record for storytelling,” WWE President Nick Khan said. “We believe Netflix, as one of the world’s leading entertainment brands, is the ideal long-term home for Raw’s live, loyal, and ever-growing fan base.”

Netflix has lately been trying its luck in the livestreaming sector. A few months ago, the platform streamed its first-ever live event with the comedy special Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, shortly followed by Love Is Blind reunion special in April.

However, with WWE Raw, Netflix will be trying their hands on a year-long live-streaming format for the first time. Needless to say, Netflix might have to significantly up its technology to keep up with the seamless live streaming experience for wrestling fans.

However, this isn’t the first time that Netflix has tried to woo sports enthusiasts. As per Deadline, the streamer was considering a bid for Formula 1 World Championship rights before the racing juggernaut renewed with ESPN last year. Netflix, however, has collaborated with Formula 1 for the Formula 1: Drive to Survive documentary series on its platform.

Apple Vision Pro Optimised Third-Party Apps to Include Zoom, Microsoft 365 Apps, More: Report

Apple is gearing up to launch its Vision Pro mixed reality headset, with preorders for the device live right now in the US. The ambitious product, which Apple calls a “spatial computer,” will be the company’s first new hardware category in nearly a decade. Apple Vision Pro claims to cater to productivity, entertainment, and gaming needs of users, offering over one million apps to make the device more lucrative. Ahead of its February 2 launch, however, major streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube and Spotify have opted to shun the new platform. But the Vision Pro won’t have a shortage of apps at launch. Apple has reportedly received submissions from developers for around 250 apps with native support for visionOS.

According to a report from MacRumors, citing data compiled by Appfigures, popular third-party apps like Airmail, Box, Carrot Weather, Fantastical, Facades, JigSpace, and Mubi will natively support visionOS when the Vision Pro launches. Other supported apps include Night Sky, OmniPlan 4, Parcel, PCalc, Red Bull TV, Sky Guide, Tides, Webex, Zoom, and more.

Additionally, developers have been sharing a few apps that will be available and optimised for the Vision Pro at launch. Developer Steve Troughton-Smith and X user @M1Astra posted images and videos of several apps running on visionOS on Mastodon and X, respectively. According to the report, Microsoft’s suite of apps like Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Teams, will run natively on visionOS. Their posts also show visionOS supported apps like LEGO Builder’s Journey, Art Universe, Qlone, J.Crew, Lowe’s and more.

The third-party optimised apps will come on top of natively supported apps from Apple that will come pre-installed on the mixed reality headset. These reportedly include App Store, Files, Freeform, Mail, Messages, Music, Notes, Photos, Safari, Apple TV, and more. Additionally, the Vision Pro will also come with bunch of unoptimised apps preinstalled, including Podcasts, Books, Shortcuts, Reminders and more.

Bear in mind, apps available on the iPad and iPhone will automatically be available to download on the Vision Pro, too, unless the developer opts out of making their app available on the visionOS. Major streamers like Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube have done exactly that.

Last week, it was reported that Netflix won’t offer a standalone app on the Vision Pro, dealing a blow to Apple’s entertainment offerings on its new headset. The Netflix app app is available on iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS operating systems, but the streamer opted out from bringing its app on visionOS. Users can, however, access the Netflix website via a Web browser on the Vision Pro to stream content.

Popular video-content platform YouTube and audio streaming giant Spotify also followed suit, reportedly confirming that they had no plans to launch dedicated apps on visionOS. The iPad version of both apps will also not be available on Apple’s newest platform.

Apple, has, however, confirmed a host of streaming and entertainment that will be running on visionOS when the Vision Pro launches February 2. According to the company’s newsroom post, apps from streaming services like Disney+, ESPN, NBA, MLB, PGA Tour, Max, Discovery+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Fubo, Crunchyroll, Red Bull TV, IMAX, TikTok, and Mubi will be available to download on the headset.

Netflix Games Brings Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition to Android, iOS Phones

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is now available on both iOS and Android mobile platforms. It bundles three classic games — Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. For all Netflix subscribers, the games are free to play. Rockstar Games confirmed that users without a Netflix subscription can also now play the games on their smartphones. They will be required to buy the games on Play Store or App Store.

In a press release, Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar Games confirmed on Thursday that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was available to play on mobile platforms for free to all Netflix subscribers, as well as other iOS and Android users. The mobile versions of the three classic games claim to come with significant visual and gameplay improvements.

The announcement adds that the three games concerned, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, can be downloaded and purchased individually on smartphones. Among several other improvements and features, one is a new Classic Lighting mode, the developer revealed. It is said to restore “the look and feel of the sky in the original games.” The download links for the games are attached to the release.

Netflix Games previously confirmed the arrival of this bundle. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is also available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Notably, Rockstar Games recently released the trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 which is confirmed to launch in 2025. It will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The new trailer introduces us to Lucia and Jason, the game’s crime couple protagonists and also shows us Vice City, a fictionalised version of Miami where the game is set.

Netflix Games to Add Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – the Definitive Edition on Mobile Platforms Next Month

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, the remastered bundle that contains three iconic GTA titles from Rockstar Games, is coming to Netflix, the streamer announced Wednesday. Starting December 14, Netflix subscribers will get access to the trilogy on mobile via App Store, Google Play, and within the Netflix app. Released November 11, 2021, for PC and consoles, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition brings together three classic games — Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas — with visual, gameplay and quality of life improvements. While the original games are available on both iOS and Android, this marks the first time the remastered trilogy is heading to the mobile platform.

Netflix subscribers can now pre-register to play the trilogy, the platform said in its announcement. All three titles in the remastered bundle are updated for mobile and will feature the enhancements present in the console version.

The announcement comes right in time for the much-awaited trailer release for Grand Theft Auto 6. Earlier this month, publisher Rockstar Games confirmed that it would finally reveal a trailer for GTA 6. Perhaps the most eagerly awaited video game in history, Grand Theft Auto 6 has spent years in development and dodged multiple leaks — including a major hack that outed in-development gameplay footage from the upcoming title.

Last month, Netflix was reported to be looking to add a Grand Theft Auto title to its games portfolio. The streaming platform had held discussions with Rockstar parent Take-Two Interactive over plans to release a GTA title for its catalogue via a licensing deal. Initially believed to be a new mobile GTA title, the talks seemed to have led to the remastered trilogy arriving on mobile.

Mobile versions of mainline GTA titles, which were later remastered for the trilogy bundle, already exist on both Android and iOS. Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are available to download as part of the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy bundle on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store. Netflix Games is now a growing catalogue of over 80 mobile games across genres and has added acclaimed new mobile titles like Laya’s Horizon and Oxenfree II: Lost Signals this year. The streamer also intends to offer games beyond mobile, with game streaming being tested on PC, Mac and smart TVs.

Earlier this month, the streaming giant announced new games based on in its hit shows Money Heist, Shadow and Bone, The Dragon Prince, and more.

In India, a mobile-only Netflix subscription begins at Rs. 149 per month. The Basic plan, which offers streaming at a reduced 720p resolution comes in at Rs. 199 per month, while the Standard plan with full-HD streaming costs Rs. 499 a month. The top tier Premium plan is priced at Rs. 649 and offers 4K, HDR streaming quality.

The Archies Cast, Zoya Akhtar, Fans Get Together in Special ‘Flight to Riverdale’ Ahead of Netflix Release

The Archies, Zoya Akhtar’s coming-of-age musical, is set to release on Netflix on December 7. Inspired by iconic characters from Archie comics, with an Anglo-India spin, The Archies boasts a cast of star kids, including Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, and Khushi Kapoor, among others. Ahead of the film’s release, airline service Vistara has collaborated with Netflix for ‘Flight to Riverdale,’ a special UK 1964 flight, which will host the cast of the film, select fans and Club Vistara members for an Archie experience.

The flight took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, at 2:40 pm and arrived at Manohar International Airport, Goa, at 5:15 pm on Friday. The aeroplane itself offered an authentic Archie experience with retro-themed décor that matched the film’s aesthetics. According to a press release, fans on the special flight also received specially curated meals and beverages, customised Vistara and Netflix giveaways, along with the chance to meet and travel with the film’s cast.

Along with the cast, director Zoya Akhtar and co-writer Reema Kagti were also present on the flight. The press release also noted that the cast was present in character during the flight — Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge, Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper, Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews, Aditi Saigal as Ethel Muggs, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley.

Commenting on the collaboration, Deepti Sampat, Vice President – Marketing, Vistara, said, “We are delighted to be the first Indian airline to partner with Netflix to curate a journey down memory lane with our special ‘Flight to Riverdale’. Vistara Retrojet, with its nostalgic charm, not only transports us back to a golden era but also propels us into a future where the boundaries between cinema and air travel seamlessly merge, offering passengers an experience that transcends the ordinary. UK 1964 will surely leave a permanent trail of enduring memories while also evoking nostalgia.”

In August, Netflix unveiled the release date for The Archies. The streaming platform also dropped a trailer for the upcoming film earlier this month, showcasing its story, cast of characters, and candy-coloured aesthetics.

Set in the 1960s, The Archies reimagines popular characters from the titular comic books and drops them in the imaginary idyllic town of Riverdale in India. It follows the lives of Archie and their friends navigating friendship, heartbreak, rebellion, school protests, dance parties, and more. Akhtar is co-producing The Archies movie via her own Tiger Baby Films banner with Sharad Devarajan’s Graphics India. The Archies comes out on December 7 on Netflix.

OTT Releases This Week: Jawan, The Killer, The Railway Men, and More

Winter is fast approaching, but that’s never going to put a dent in the streaming content output that’s governed by a revolving slate that switches trends so fast. It can be hard to find time to watch something, even during the weekend, so we’ve returned to make selections easy for you. David Fincher’s The Killer is the top release on Netflix this week, as we follow a nameless hitman on a globe-trotting path of revenge against his employers in a killing spree he insists isn’t personal. On the same platform, we’ve got The Railway Men, charting the untold story of brave railway workers who risked their lives to save others during the terrifying Bhopal gas tragedy. The series is out on Saturday, November 18, on Netflix.

Those keen on some superhero action can watch the Ezra Miller-led The Flash — not listed below — which is finally out on JioCinema, centring around Barry Allen’s attempt at using the Speed Force to change his past, only for things to go wrong when he inadvertently creates a world without metahumans. Paired with an alternate version of himself and Michael Keaton’s Batman, he must engage in multiversal shenanigans to fix the timeline from a returning intergalactic overlord. The Killer

David Fincher doing comedy is always refreshing to see, and with The Killer, he takes it up a notch by somewhat bashing his ideas about perfectionism. In it, we follow a nameless OCD-driven assassin (Michael Fassbender) lying in wait at an abandoned Parisian WeWork, with a sniper rifle pointed at the opposite building and repeatedly chanting a mantra about sticking to the plan and how one must ‘forbid empathy’ to do what he does. That egotistical self-hype all goes down the drain when he misses his target, driving him into panic mode and altering his psyche, leading him onto a revenge path to clean up all loose ends. The premise driving The Killer is undoubtedly cliché, but Fincher’s tactile execution sheds light on how a realistic John Wick would play out in a contemporary world. There’s an incredibly well-choreographed fight scene, cautionary ad placements, and The Smiths’ music to jam along.

The Railway Men

On the night of December 2, 1984, the cheerfulness of Bhopal came to a screeching halt when the highly toxic gas from the nearby Union Carbide India pesticide plant leaked into the air, poisoning and killing countless citizens. In the face of this disaster, four men played by Madhavan (Rocketry: The Nambi Effect), Kay Kay Menon (Farzi), Divyendu Sharma (Mirzapur), and Babil Khan (Qala), unite their efforts to escort as many breathing civilians out of the state — despite being abandoned and cut off from all kinds of aid. To make matters worse, running trains are heading into the state, unaware of the catastrophe that our brave heroes must stop. All four episodes of The Railway Men are out this Saturday.

Apurva

Tara Sutaria (Ek Villain Returns) makes her digital debut in Apurva, who on a trip to Agra to surprise her boyfriend, gets kidnapped by a group of gangsters, headed by Jugnu (Rajpal Yadav) and Sukkha (Abhishek Banerjee). After being tortured and harassed for hours, her narrow escape causes disarray within the group when one of the members starts fancying her and affecting his judgement on their next heist mission. Amidst this, there’s an unfolding conspiracy, which Apurva is drawn into and forced to solve to ensure her survival. Nikhil Nagesh Bhat — best known for The Gone Game — helms the film.

The Crown season 6: Part 1

Netflix is bringing its dramatised reimagining of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign to a close with the sixth season of The Crown, which now sets eyes on France, where Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki) is out on holiday, constantly tailed by the paparazzi for her continued involvement with Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla). If you’ve been keeping up with the British royal monarchy series, you’ll know that the said events are a precursor to the princess’ death in a traffic collision and its resulting ramifications across the world. Back at home, the queen (Imelda Staunton) mourns the loss while grappling with the future of her bloodline and displaying strong resolve as the mother of England. Season 6 is divided into two halves, with the second part dropping on December 14.

Jawan

After shattering Indian box office records, Jawan is finally out on streaming, with Shah Rukh Khan returning as a rebel prison warden looking to correct the wrongs in society and expose deep corruption. As part of it, he recruits a group of inmates — Priyamani (The Family Man), Sanya Malhotra (Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery), Ridhi Dogra (Asur), and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya (The Broken News) — who would help him commit outrageous crimes to send a message, as he unexpectedly reunites with his ex-commando lookalike father, played by SRK himself. Jawan also stars Nayanthara as the hard-nosed special agent trying to thwart his plans, while Vijay Sethupathi (Farzi) plays an arms dealer.

Remember that while the Netflix version is labelled as an ‘Extended Cut,’ it is only 5 minutes long.

Netflix Announces New Games Based on Money Heist, Shadow and Bone, More at Geeked Week 2023

Netflix Games, the streamer’s game subscription service that comes bundled with a Netflix subscription, has grown over time to include nearly 90 games across different genres. The platform adds new games to the service every month, which can be played on Android phones and tablets, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Now, Netflix Games is bringing four new titles inspired by popular films and shows on the streaming platform. As part of its ongoing Geeked Week 2023 showcase, Netflix has announced Money Heist, Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold, Chicken Run: Eggstraction, and The Dragon Prince: Xadia — all mobile titles arriving soon for Netflix subscribers.

Money Heist

Based on Netflix’s popular crime series Money Heist, this new mobile title focuses on the original heist from the show. A narrative focussed title, Money Heist will let players take on the La Perla Museo de Barcelona heist with the original crew from the series. The game will combine narrative choices that affect the outcome and light puzzles. The trailer for the game shows the crew from the series, with different dialogue options to choose from.

Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold

Based on Netflix’s fantasy series Shadow and Bone, this new mobile title takes players back to Grishaverse. Shadow and Bone: Enter the Fold is set between Seasons 1 and 2 of the show and seems to be a top-down RPG with a focus on attribute-based dialogue choices.

Chicken Run: Eggstraction

Chicken Run: Eggstraction is a top-down stealth action game from the creators of the Chicken Run film. Inspired by Netflix’s upcoming stop motion animated comedy Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, the game is coming soon to Netflix Games on mobile devices. Billed as a heist game by its developers — “Grand Theft Auto chickens,” the game came about as an idea during the making of the film, as a means to expand the Chicken Run universe. The game is currently in development and should likely arrive by next year.

The Dragon Prince: Xadia

This new title is based on Netflix’s animated fantasy series, The Dragon Prince. A more combat-focussed experience, The Dragon Prince: Xadia is a hack-and-slash looter action-RPG that can be played with friends. You can team up to defeat evil forces in Xadia, with each co-op player controlling a unique hero wielding distinct weapons. The combat and art style resemble Supergiant Games’ acclaimed top-down action-RPG Hades. The Dragon Prince: Xadia arrives on the Netflix Games platform on mobiles next year.

A recent report claimed that Netflix was doubling down on its effort to bring more games to its subscribers and is focussed on adding higher quality titles to its roster. The report also said that streamer would reportedly add games based on its hit shows to its Netflix Games platform, with planned mobile game adaptations of Squid Game and Wednesday arriving in the coming months. Back in July, the Netflix Games added The Queen’s Gambit Chess, based on its popular The Queen’s Gambit series starring Anya Taylor-Joy, to Netflix Games service on both Android and iOS. The streamer is also working on bringing select titles on TV, PCs, and Macs.
