The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and has a 5,000mAh battery with wired fast charging support. The handset runs Android 14-based UI and features a quad-HD AMOLED display. It has a triple rear camera unit with a periscope camera and is available in two RAM and storage configurations. Now, iQoo has confirmed that it’ll launch a special Anniversary Edition of the iQoo 12 soon.

Nipun Marya, iQoo India CEO,  announced the upcoming India launch of the iQoo 12 Anniversary Edition model in a post on X (formerly Twitter). In an open letter attached to the post, the company executive stated that this is the first Anniversary Edition phone that iQoo will introduce in the country. Neither the company nor the executive has confirmed any other details about the iQoo 12 Anniversary Edition. We do not know how it will differ from the regular iQoo 12 offering in the country. Like with many special edition handsets, one of the things that can vary is the colour option and/or finish of the rear panel. It is speculated that the upcoming variant could launch in a red colourway, similar to the Burning Way variant that was launched in China. However, since nothing official is known, readers are advised to take this speculation with a pinch of salt.

There are other models like the Galaxy S23 models that have received Android 14-based updates since Google released the OS version earlier this year in October.

A press release from iQoo also confirmed that the iQoo 12 5G will be available for purchase in the country only via Amazon and the official iQoo e-store. The phone’s microsite on both Amazon and the website are live.

The Track Version comes with a BMW Motorsport-inspired finish. Price details of the Indian variant of the phone are still under wraps but it is expected to share similar specifications to that of its Chinese counterpart.

The iQoo 12 5G comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1.5K (1,260×2,800 pixels), a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display also offers HDR10+ support. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chip Confirmed to Arrive on OnePlus 12, Xiaomi 14, iQoo 12 and Realme GT5 Pro

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was announced by Qualcomm at the chipmaker’s annual Snapdragon Summit event on Tuesday. The new chip will power flagship Android smartphones from a range of manufacturers expected to debut in the coming weeks and months — starting with the Xiaomi 14 that will be launched on October 26. OEMs like Asus, Honor, iQoo, Meizu, Nio, Nubia, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Redmi, Red Magic, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE will launch smartphones that are equipped with the new chip.

The Xiaomi 14 is set to debut on October 26 as the company’s next flagship smartphone and will be the first handset to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Company president William Lu has already confirmed the launch of the handset in China, but the company has not announced the launch of the Xiaomi 14 in other markets, including India.

On November 7, iQoo has scheduled a launch event where the company is expected to unveil the iQoo 12 in China — this phone is confirmed to be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip. Both Vivo and Realme have also confirmed the arrival of smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Meanwhile, OnePlus and Oppo will also launch phones powered by the new Snapdragon chip. We already know the next handset from the former will be called the OnePlus 12, but the company is yet to announce a launch date. On the other hand, we can expect the Oppo Find X7 Pro to be the firm’s first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip under the hood.
