Mom calls out bullies’ parents in viral TikTok after daughter’s ‘knock-off’ Stanley cup was mocked at school

A mom called out parents in a viral TikTok earlier this week, claiming she bought her daughter a name-brand Stanley cup after her peers at school mocked her for toting her under $10 Walmart knock-off.

“Can we afford to buy her a Stanley? Yes. Did I think that she needed one? No,” Dayna Motycka told her followers earlier this week.

“Apparently I’ve been proven wrong by the children in our school that are making fun of her for not having a real name-brand Stanley.”

Motycka showed the cheetah print pink and white insulated tumbler she purchased for $9.98, saying her daughter thought it was “cute.”

After coming back to school from the holidays, Motycka’s daughter was “upset” about the way other girls, many of whom got Stanley Cups for Christmas, criticized the knock-off and made sure to let her know it wasn’t a “real Stanley.”

“[They told her] that this is fake and not as cool,” she said, pointing to the cup.

Motycka proceeded to call out the girls’ parents for failing to teach them to treat others with respect for not having trendy, in-demand products, whether they’re Stanley, Uggs or Lululemon.

“This doesn’t start with the kids. This starts with us, with parents, with moms. What are we teaching our kids?” she asked.

“You’d better believe that, if our nine-year-old daughter came home and, somehow, we found out that she had made fun of another girl at school for not having something name-brand… we would be calling the family, we would be making her write a note to apologize, we would make her apologize in person because that’s not what we do in this household.”

Motycka also bought her daughter a real Stanley cup, which she also showed in the video, but said the family seeks to teach their kids that, despite having enough money to purchase these things, they don’t necessarily need them.

“We’re trying to teach our kids they don’t necessarily need that. Things are earned. You have to work for things in your life. Not everything is just going to be handed to you,” she said.

“But do I also not want to see my daughter being left out or made fun of because she doesn’t have name-brand things? That’s how I grew up,” she continued, explaining that she, as a child, was mocked for not having name-brand clothing like other kids.

Motycka concluded the video with a message urging parents to teach their children to not make fun of others for not having the things that they have.

The Stanley Cup craze has seen videos of shoppers storming Target shelves to get their hands on the limited edition pink or red Valentine’s Day editions of 40 oz. Stanley Adventure Quencher Travel Tumblers in recent days, leading some people to say they were “nearly trampled” as a result.

In one TikTok video posted by @jazzedbyjaz, Texas shoppers cleared shelves of the coveted releases in less than four minutes.

Virginia girl Aubrey Scaletta returns to stage for ‘Nutcracker’ after nearly losing her feet in accident

A 7-year-old ballerina in Virginia is making huge leaps of progress after nearly losing her feet in a freak accident, according to the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke.

After spending the past several months in the hospital, Aubrey Scaletta, 7, was able to do the unthinkable and dance in ‘The Nutcracker’ after nearly losing both her feet in a freak accident back in May, according to Carilion Clinic.

In a release, Carilion Clinic said Aubrey was on her way home from gymnastics with her dad and twin sister, Grayson, when the unimaginable happened.

Health officials said Scaletta was playing with a ratchet strap when a portion of the strap went out the window and wrapped around the drive shaft.

She was then almost pulled out the window, but instead, the strap severed her feet.

Aubrey was airlifted to the pediatric level one trauma center at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where an orthopedic surgeon and his team acted swiftly.

“When I got the phone call about an hour after the accident, they thought they might have to transfer her out of town, and I said, ‘Hold on a minute. If her feet are salvageable, then her best chance is here with us tonight — not tomorrow, not in six hours, but right here, right now with us,’” Dr. Peter Apel said in the clinic release.

“We had to operate quickly to re-establish blood flow and reattach her feet to her legs. If we would have waited even a few hours, the feet would have died and most certainly would have been amputated.”

Because of Dr. Apel and his team’s swift thinking, they were able to save Aubrey’s feet.

The team performed complex emergency surgery to repair and reattach the bones, arteries, tendons, nerves, and skin, typically a process that would have taken a week of planning with the help of several doctors and surgical team members, according to officials.

“It feels like it was all a bad dream,” said Lauren Scaletta, Aubrey’s mom.

“Even now, it still doesn’t feel like it really happened,” said Lauren Scaletta, Aubrey’s mom.

“I remember right after she got out of the hospital, I was running an errand and I saw a little girl in a dance leotard with her mom, and it struck me that we might never be able to do things like that again. So just being here and watching her do the things she loves makes me constantly say, ‘She’s incredible.’”

The weekend of Dec. 9, Aubrey was able to perform alongside Grayson in “The Nutcracker.”

Dr. Apel stated that Aubrey’s recovery isn’t over, but she’s making great progress.

However, Aubrey’s parents don’t expect anything to slow her down, adding she always finds a way to achieve everything she sets her mind to.

Florida man Paul Broadhurst punches bobcat to save dog

A Florida man reportedly fended off a bobcat attack on his daughter’s dog by swinging his fists, clocking the wild animal in the face.

Paul Broadhurst told Fox 32 Orlando that he was walking the dog, Koda, on Feb. 11 in the Stoneybrook neighborhood of East Orlando when the bobcat pounced.

The bobcat, he clawed into me pretty good, and I end up having to punch the bobcat in the mouth to get it off of me,” Broadhurst said.

“He was walking down the sidewalk that bobcat was just over the top of him. He no sooner got there, and I ripped him off.”

Broadhurst was left with scratches after he tried to pry the animal away from the dog, eventually sending the bobcat scurrying into the tree line.

“He got away lucky,” Broadhurst said about the family pet who was uninjured during the attack.

“This is a very high-traffic area,” Broadhurst explained. “People walk their dogs, and have their kids, there are small kids in area 1-, 2-, 3-year-olds and if the bobcat got on them, it would be a bad outcome.”

Broadhurst’s home is next to a conservation area and Environmental Education Awareness Research Support’s Frank Robb suggested that people walking their pets should carry an object like a walking stick that they can put between their pets and any animal that is rabid or looking for food.

“When homes get built these wild areas are being taken away, you’re going to see more conflict like this with wildlife,” Robb said. “Be aware of your surroundings and know where you live.”

I have 11 kids and 8 baby daddies – trolls say I’m embarrassing but I don’t care

It takes a village to raise a child — or, sometimes, just one busy woman.

A mom-of-11, who has children with eight different fathers, hit back at trolls calling out her lifestyle — claiming they wouldn’t be saying that if she were a man and, besides, she loves her life.

Phi, from Memphis, shares her busy family dynamics on TikTok and often responds to criticisms from users about her lifestyle.

In one clip, the 36-year-old says there are double standards surrounding children with different partners.

“Men can have multiple baby mamas and no one bats an eye but I get talked about for having multiple baby daddies,” she says, adding she wouldn’t get the same reaction if she went to a sperm bank.

Of course, “The Masked Singer” host Nick Cannon — the father of 11 with one more on the way — may disagree with her first statement.

She shared some of the comments she’s received.

In another video, Phi responds to a comment that read, “I just know half of them dudes embarrassed af to have you as a baby mumma.”

“Me telling them y’all assumptions and laughing at y’all,” she hit back, adding in a comment: “Speak for yourself cause I love it here!”

Phi has mixed reactions from followers — some admire the busy mom while others were too fixated on her child-to-father ratio.

“This a weird ass flex. Dirty too,” one user commented on a video of Phi proudly saying she doesn’t know anyone with more than eight baby daddies.

“omg are you fr? is that a flex?” questioned another.

“I can’t handle the 1 I have,” joked another user.

Others said they’ve been on the other side.

“On the flip side my 1 baby daddy has 13 baby mamas,” added another.

Last October, the mom spoke about the advantages of having so many men around.

“Let me explain it,” she said in a TikTok rant after she went viral for revealing her growing family makeup. “If you have one and you take away one, you have zero but if you have eight and you take away three, you still have five.”

She also suggested she wasn’t ready to call it quits.

“I wanna have, like, another 19, just so I could make it even, 30,” she said.

Bronx mom Dimone Fleming charged after 2 children found dead

The mother of two young boys whose bodies were found in the bathtub of their Bronx home has been charged with murder in their stabbing deaths — after she shared a quote on Facebook about wanting kids to know they’re always safe at home.

Dimone Fleming, 22, was charged at the 46th Precinct late Sunday with two counts each of murder, intention to commit murder and murder: depraved indifference to a person less than 11-years-old.

Her sons – 11-month-old Octavius Canada and 3-year-old DeShawn Fleming – were found dead Saturday night in their apartment at a homeless shelter at 246 Echo Place in Mount Hope.

The boys each had “multiple stab wounds” to the neck and torso, Deputy Chief Louis Deceglie told reporters.

Just hours before the boys were found, Fleming shared a quote on social media about parents wanting to protect their children.

“I want my children to always know … if the relationship ain’t working COME HOME! If the bills become overwhelming COME HOME! If you feel unsafe COME HOME! If something don’t feel right COME HOME!” the post, originally written by another Facebook user and shared by the mom Saturday morning, said.

“I want my kids to always know they can come home … I never believed in the saying ‘they 18 they grown,’” the post continues.

DeShawn Fleming and Octavius Canada were found dead in a bathtub.

Fleming had been taken into custody as a person of interest before the children were found after cops responded to the apartment on a report of a woman “acting irrationally” and igniting things in the kitchen.

She was found naked on the third floor, police said.

However, cops didn’t notice the slain boys buried under a pile of clothes in the bathtub when they took her away.

The young victims had “multiple stab wounds” to their necks and torsos, Deputy Chief Louis Deceglie said.

A neighbor had told police that the kids’ dad had them, authorities said.

Police returned to the shelter about 8 p.m. after a 911 call from the frantic dad, Columbus Canada, 31, who found his sons’ lifeless bodies.

On Sunday, law enforcement sources told The Post that Fleming may have killed her sons because she believed they were possessed.

“She made statements about the devil — unusual statements,” a police source said.

Mourners gather at a memorial for the slain young brothers outside a Bronx shelter.

In an earlier Facebook post, the mom also chillingly wrote:  “It’s only one true God and I repent from all wrong doings and negative influence. Leaving all things that’s no longer serves me…… Thank you for your mercy.”

The woman was previously investigated by the Administration for Children’s Services after DeShawn was born, according to sources, who said she was suspected of improperly caring for the boy.

NY probing NYC pediatrician for alleged vaccine record fraud

An Upper West Side pediatrician disciplined in 2007 in an unprecedented case of faking vaccine records has been hit with another state probe for allegedly doing it again, The Post has learned.

A parent said he reported Dr. Mark Nesselson to the state Office for Professional Medical Conduct after seeing a falsified vaccination for his child allegedly prepared by the doctor.

The father said his daughter had not been seen by the pediatrician on the day recorded for one of the vaccines in 2021, which was on an official form provided by Nesselson.

The doctor also gave the family a form for insurance reimbursement that indicated an office visit had taken place that day for the shot when it had not, the dad said.

The purported phony record included MMR, polio vaccine and other standard shots for toddlers. It was allegedly created by Nesselson for the child’s mother, presumably to be used for school admissions, according to a copy of the parent’s complaint to the state.

One father said his daughter (not pictured) had not been seen by the pediatrician (not pictured) on the day recorded for one of the vaccines in 2021, which was provided by Nesselson.

Proof of vaccination is mandated for day care or attending school in New York.

The father said his family doled out about $4,300 to Nesselson over two and a half years, although some of that did cover legitimate office visits with the pediatrician.

The OPMC acknowledged the parent’s complaint in March 2022, according to a copy of a letter seen by The Post. The dad said he was later interviewed by investigators.

“It’s important that doctors act like doctors,” the furious dad said.

In 2007, a state disciplinary board placed Nesselson on probation for three years after he admitted to faking vaccination forms. He was fined $10,000 and allowed to treat patients under a monitor.

The state investigated him again in 2011, looking at whether he was complying with the terms of the previous order, records show. At that time, he signed an agreement saying he would adhere to the probation for 36 months, records show.

The vaccination record, allegedly created by Nesselson, was presumably to be used for school admissions.

Nesselson did not return a request for comment. The state Department of Health said it could not comment on investigations.

DOH “takes instances of potential medical misconduct seriously and acts appropriately to protect the health and safety of patients,” a spokesman said.

Tired mother’s funny back-to-school photo: ‘Mom’s first day’

This mom has first-day bitters.

A mother in North Carolina shared her hilarious spin on a classic back-to-school trend, turning the camera on herself in a now-viral snapshot that struck a chord with exhausted parents everywhere.

Jeni Bukolt snapped a photo of herself wearing sunglasses, unenthusiastically holding up a black chalkboard sign that noted it was the first day of school.

“Mom’s first day of school,” the decorated sign read, as seen in her Instagram photo.

“I am 42 years tired. I’ll probably miss a school ‘theme’ day.” I really like sleep. Please don’t ask me to volunteer, but I will buy you supplies.”

The satirical post poked fun at the classic back-to-school photos that flood Facebook feeds every fall as students pose with Pinterest-inspired signs listing their age, grade and fun facts about themselves before returning to school.

“Happy ‘Back to School’ season to all the parents,” Bukolt wrote in the caption. “May we not forget a ‘theme’ day or accidentally send our kids to the bus stop on the teacher work days, or forget to pick them up on the randomly scheduled half days. May we have patience and give each other grace for doing our best!”

Bukolt wanted to “create a lighthearted moment” during a usually stressful time and hopes that “other moms can get a good laugh about it.”
Instagram / mavenjeni

The mother of two and owner of branding agency HAVEN Creative said the idea came to her last minute as her boys were getting ready for their first day.

“I thought maybe if I can create a lighthearted moment, some other moms will laugh and understand we’re all in this kind of struggle together. Like, let’s have empathy for each other,” Bukolt told “Good Morning America.”

“I also feel like when you look at social media, there’s all these, [picture perfect] worlds. It’s not the true story. And some people think like, ‘Oh, they have it better or they’re perfect,’ and this is an opportunity to say no, we’re all real human beings … we’re all in the struggle together.”

The post attracted a few hateful comments but Bukolt doesn’t mind. She followed her initial post with another photo of the sign with an added sticky note that read: “P.S. I love my boys and teachers. It’s a joke.”

“The whole purpose behind it was just the struggle of myself going, ‘Here comes another year. I hope I don’t forget anything.’ Because trying to be an entrepreneur and a wife and a mom and juggling all the things, I feel like I’m constantly failing in some area of my life,” she explained.

“If other moms can get a good laugh about it, then that makes my heart happy,” Bukolt said.

Parents aren’t the only ones already feeling the exhaustion of the looming school year. Two-thirds of American teachers report feeling burned out, a recent study found.

In fact, parents are a lot more confident than teachers, research from OnePoll found, reporting that 44% of teachers and 55% of parents are feeling less anxious about the upcoming school year compared to last year.

Father of young Queens hit-and-run victim pleads with killer

The father of a 5-year-old Queens boy who was killed by a hit-and-run driver Thursday begged the suspect to surrender to police.

Richard Martinez made the plea in a Friday interview where he also remembered his son Jonathan Martinez as a “very happy child” who “loved God.”

The youngster was on his way home from the park with his father and three siblings when he was fatally hit by a white Dodge pickup truck at 100th Street in East Elmhurst at about 5:30 p.m., according to police.

The driver sped away after the fatal crash.

“We were crossing the street and a white truck wanted to turn,” Martinez recalled. “He looked at us, he saw us four there, it seemed like he wanted to hit us,” the heartbroken father said in Spanish.

“I pulled my other children back but didn’t get to my third child Johnathan in time. He was struck by the bumper and two wheels ran over him.”

Jonathan Martinez was on his way home from the park with his father and three siblings when he was fatally hit.

The elder Martinez said he forgave the cowardly suspect as he called on the suspect to turn himself in.

“I forgive you, we are human. All I ask [is] turn yourself into authorities. Tell them it was you that it was a mistake, whatever,” Martinez said.

“You have taken a piece of my heart … my child was innocent and had a whole future ahead of him.”

The boy — who was only a block from his house when he was struck — was pronounced dead less than an hour after the accident from severe trauma, police said.
