Redmi K60 Series Camera Details Tipped, Could Pack OIS Enabled Cameras

Redmi K60 series specifications have leaked once again with some additional camera details. The lineup with vanilla Redmi K60 and Redmi K60 Pro is expected to launch soon as flagship offerings from the Xioami sub-brand, but the company has not shared a release date yet. As per the new leak, one of the phones will carry a 64-megapixel main camera with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). Another model, on the other hand, could feature OIS enabled 50-megapixel primary sensor.

Tipster Digital Chat Station, via a post on Weibo, indicated the camera details of the Redmi K60 series. As per the tipster, one of the devices in the upcoming lineup will be equipped with a 64-megapixel main camera with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS) whereas, another model will have a 50-megapixel primary camera, also OIS-enabled.

A previous leak had suggested that the standard Redmi K60 would get a 48-megapixel primary rear camera sensor. Xiaomi has not officially revealed any details about the Redmi K60 series yet, so this information should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Specifications of the Redmi K60 series have also surfaced online recently hinting at 100W charging support. The display of the rumoured smartphones is said to offer 2K resolution. Redmi K60 series could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset. The regular Redmi K60 is tipped to feature a flat display with a hole punch cutout and a 5,500mAh battery.

The Redmi K60 series is expected to succeed the Redmi K50 lineup that went official in China in March. The Redmi K50 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, while the Redmi K50 packs the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC. The Pro sports a triple rear camera setup with a 100-megapixel 1/1.52-inch Samsung S5KHM2 primary sensor and offers a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Meanwhile, the standard K50 comes with a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel 1/2-inch Sony IMX582 primary sensor and has a 5,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro Leaked Renders Show Hole-Punch Display, Triple Rear Camera Setup, More

Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have been at the centre of a lot of leaks and rumours over the past few months. Now, the design and a few specifications of the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones have allegedly leaked via fresh renders. Leaked renders suggests a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout on the display to house the selfie camera and triple rear cameras on the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones. The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are seen carrying a curved display and a completely redesigned rear camera system.

Tipster Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks) in collaboration with Comparedial, leaked an alleged render of the Xiaomi 13. The leaked images show the handset in a white shade with curved edges, minimal bezels, and a hole punch display design. A triple rear camera unit is seen arranged on the upper left corner of the back panel in a square-shaped island, along with the LED flash. The design of the smartphone is quite similar to that of the recent iPhone models.

As per the leak, the Xiaomi 13 will measure 152.8 x 71.5 x 8.3mm. The camera bump takes it to 10.3mm in thickness.

Meanwhile, alleged renders of the Xiaomi 13 Pro were shared by the same tipster Steve H.McFly in association with Zoutons. The renders show Xiaomi 13 Pro in Black colour, featuring a hole-punch display. It is shown to have a similar triple rear camera unit, arranged in the upper left corner of the device. Further, the power button and the volume rockers are seen on the left spine of the smartphone. The microphone and IR blaster are seen at the top of the handset. There may be a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.

As per the leak, Xiaomi 13 Pro will have a 6.65-inch curved display and could come in 256GB and 512GB storage variants. It is tipped to measure 163.0 x 74.6 x 8.8mm. The thickness could be 11.8mm including the rear camera bump.

The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have been subject to several leaks recently. The smartphone series could go official in November. The Xiaomi 13 series is said to sport a 2K resolution curved AMOLED display and is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which could launch in November. India’s Smartphone Shipments Decline 11 Percent in Q3 2022; Xiaomi Leads With Highest Market Share: Counterpoint

India’s smartphone shipments have fell down 11 percent YoY in Q3 2022 to reach over 45 million units, according to the latest data by Counterpoint research. Chinese electronics brand Xiaomi secured the top spot among other smartphone brands with a shipment share of 21 percent. Samsung closely followed Xiaomi to be in the second spot with a market share of 18 percent. Vivo and Realme were placed in the third and fourth spot respectively, closely followed by Oppo in the fifth spot. India’s smartphone shipments Q3 2022 also saw Apple reach its highest ever market share of 5 percent in the Indian market. The third quarter was also the first time ever when an iPhone (iPhone 13) topped the overall India smartphone quarterly shipment rankings.

A recent Counterpoint research reported that the smartphone shipment in India saw a decline of 11 percent YoY in Q3 2022 to reach over 45 million units. Though Xiaomi’s YoY shipments declined 19 percent, the Chinese company managed to maintain the top spot with a market share of 21 percent. Xiaomi was also the top 5G smartphone brand in Q3 2022 in India in the sub-Rs. 20,000 price band.

The South Korean electronics brand Samsung came in second in the quarter with a market share of 18 percent. Samsung was the top smartphone brand in India this September. The company also led the Rs. 10,000- Rs. 20,000 price band, which was mainly driven by the Galaxy M-series and F-series models. Samsung was the fastest growing brand among the top five brands in the premium segment as well.

As mentioned earlier, Vivo captured the third position while Realme came at the fourth spot in Q3 2022. The Chinese tech company Oppo stood in the fifth position, although it declined 7 percent YoY in Q3 2022.

This quarter also saw American tech company Apple reach its highest ever Indian market shipment share of 5 percent. The iPhone 13 became the first iPhone to top the overall phone shipments in India in a quarter.

Redmi Note 12 5G May Be Launched as Rebranded Poco Phone in India: Report

Redmi Note 12 5G, unveiled by the Chinese smartphone maker in China last week as part of its new Redmi Note 12 series, could reportedly make its debut in India as a rebranded Poco smartphone. A recent report indicates that a Poco smartphone with similar specifications as the Redmi Note 12 5G may be released in India this month. As per a report by Gizmochina, the Redmi Note 12 5G, which debuted in China, has the model number 22101317C which in its shortened format translates to M17. The new POCO device spotted on the BIS database has the same shortened model number M17, which indicates that the phone may indeed be headed to India as a rebranded POCO smartphone.

The model number spotted on BIS also hints that the device may be released in November in India, as per the report. However, Poco India is yet to make any announcement regarding the launch of a new smartphone with similar specifications as the Redmi Note 12 5G.

The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. The device launched in China with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of inbuilt storage. The device sports a side-facing fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

Xiaomi has shown the Xiaomi 12S Ultra Concept smartphone with an interchangeable lens similar to a DSLR camera. The Chinese smartphone brand has released a video teasing the complete design and optical details of the smartphone co-developed by Leica. The new Xiaomi 12S Ultra Concept allows users to attach a camera lens to the smartphone camera. Xiaomi claims that users can attach Leica’s professional M-series camera lenses to the smartphone’s camera. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept is equipped with two 1-inch sensors, instead of the one in the vanilla Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The new model could debut as the first handset with support for interchangeable lenses.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra Concept was showcased by Xiaomi on Wednesday in a video via its official Weibo handle. The new device comes as a joint effort between Xiaomi and Leica and allows to attach a Leica M-series lens module to the phone.

As per the video, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra Concept has two 1-inch sensors. The secondary lens is installed at the centre of the image field and can receive light directly from the external lens. It is claimed to reduce light loss while capturing sharp images. The surface has a sapphire glass coating to protect it from scratches and can be customised with Leica M-series lenses.

The Concept model is claimed to support focus peaking, zebra lines, histograms, and other common tools, and is capable of shooting 10bit RAW format files. Up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, an in-display fingerprint sensor, 4,860mAh battery that supports 67W wired and 50W wireless charging, are some of the other key specifications of the phone.
