Redmi Turbo 3 Design Spotted in Leaked Hands-On Image and Renders

Redmi Turbo 3 is confirmed to launch in China in the near future, and the company’s first smartphone in the ‘Turbo’ lineup has now been spotted in leaked images. Tipster Fixed Focus Digital (translated from Chinese) shared a hands-on image of the purported Redmi Turbo 3 as well as two renders showing the rear panel of the upcoming smartphone. The company is yet to reveal the smartphone’s specifications, but the leaked pictures suggest that it will sport a triple rear camera setup.

The first image shared by the tipster on Weibo shows the handset being held in a way that shows the rear panel with two cameras located on the left, and a third camera in the middle. The right side of the panel appears to house a circular LED flash and Redmi branding in small letters.

According to GSMArena, the rear camera 200-megapixel camera setup will be led by a 200-megapixel primary camera, with optical image stabilisation (OIS). The phone will also reportedly sport an unspecified secondary camera as well as a macro camera that is located in the middle.

Meanwhile, the tipster shared two renders of the purported Redmi Turbo 3 in white and black colourways, showing the same design as the phone seen in the hands-on image. The leaked renders also indicate that the phone’s rear panel curves into the right and left side of the phone. Both the volume and power buttons are seen on the left side of the phone — when looking at the rear panel.

A few days ago, a company executive confirmed the Chinese smartphone maker’s plans to launch a new smartphone called the Redmi Turbo 3. Expected to arrive as the successor to the Redmi Note 12 Turbo in China as part of a new smartphone series, the Redmi Turbo 3 is codenamed “Little Tornado” (translated from Chinese).

Redmi General Manager Thomas Wang has confirmed the upcoming Redmi smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. Previous reports also suggested the phone would feature the same chipset, along with a 6.78-inch OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 6,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. This phone could eventually make its debut outside China as the Poco F6 — more details about both handsets are likely to surface in the coming weeks.

Redmi K80 Series Said to Get Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, 5,500mAH Battery

Redmi K80 series is expected to launch later this year. Details regarding the purported models have surfaced online. Previously, the possible monikers of the handsets were tipped. A recent leak suggests some display, chipset and battery specifications of the expected models. The company has yet to officially announce the lineup. It is expected to succeed the Redmi K70 series, which was unveiled in China in November 2023. The rumoured Redmi K80 smartphones are expected to come with upgrades over the preceding handsets.

Tipster Smart Pikachu has shared in a Weibo post that the Redmi K80 models are expected to be backed by 5,500mAh batteries. An earlier leak by the same tipster suggested that the upcoming lineup is likely to include only a base Redmi K80 and a Redmi K80 Pro model. Notably, the preceding Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro handsets come with 5,000mAh batteries. Therefore, according to the newest leak, the purported K80 series is expected to pack bigger batteries.

The tipster added that the vanilla Redmi K80 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, while the Redmi K80 Pro is likely to come with the yet-unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The older Redmi K70 and K70 Pro carry a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, respectively.

The Redmi K80 models are also tipped to get 2K resolution displays. For comparison, the base and Pro Redmi K70 handsets are equipped with 6.67-inch 2K OLED screens. The tipster added that the Redmi K80 series smartphones will come with metal frames and glass backs. The design of the purported models has not yet surfaced online.

The Redmi K70 lineup also launched with a Redmi K70E model. Based on earlier leaks, since the Redmi K80 lineup is unlikely to feature an “E” model, it is speculated to launch as one of the Redmi Note 14 models, instead.

The smartphone is likely to be equipped with Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and could sport an OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The displays are said to be manufactured by two suppliers — TCL Huaxing and Shenzhen Tianma. The tipster also claims that the phone will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging.

For photos and videos, the Redmi Note 13 Turbo is said to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor. Details of the other rear cameras are currently under wraps. Meanwhile, the tipster says that the smartphone will be equipped with a 20-megapixel selfie camera.

Moto X50 Ultra, Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, and More Phones Confirmed to Launch With Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset on Monday, March 18. It is said to be a more affordable version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which has been widely used in numerous flagship-level smartphones since its reveal last year. Following the launch of the latest, artificial intelligence-backed Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, several brands have confirmed the 4nm octa-core chipset for some of their upcoming models. Here are all the phones that are confirmed to get the new SoC.

Moto X50 Ultra

In a Weibo post, Motorola confirmed that the upcoming Moto X50 Ultra will be powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. The company has teased this model as an “AI Mobile Phone.” Outside China, this model is said to launch as the Motorola Edge 50 Pro in certain global markets including India. In the US, the phone may be introduced with the moniker Motorola Edge+ (2024).

Meanwhile, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is confirmed to launch in India with a curved 6.7-inch 1.5K resolution 144Hz display with 2,000nits peak brightness, a 50-megapixel triple rear camera unit, and three colour options.

Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro

Xiaomi also announced in a Weibo post that the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro will launch globally with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The model is also set to come with the company’s HyperOS user interface. No other details about the handset have been revealed by Xiaomi.

However, a Xiaomi model with the model number 24053PY09I was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification site. This handset is tipped to launch in India with the moniker Xiaomi 14 Lite and in China as the Xiaomi Civi 4. The company has yet to confirm both these models.

Redmi Note 13 Turbo

Redmi revealed in a Weibo post that an upcoming mid-range smartphone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. The company has not confirmed the name of the model but has teased it with the tag “Redmi New Series” (translated from Chinese). It is expected to be the Redmi Note 13 Turbo, which recently leaked online. This model has been tipped to launch as the Poco F6 outside China.

The Redmi Note 13 Turbo is expected to ship Android 14-based HyperOS. It is said to feature a 6.78-inch 144Hz 1.5K OLED display and a 6,000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging support.

The firm did not list the models expected to be unveiled in this lineup. The base iQoo Z9 5G was recently unveiled in India with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC.
