Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale 2022 Witnesses Over 1.5 Million Users per Second on Day 1

E-commerce firm Flipkart on Friday said its platform saw 1.6 million concurrent users per second on the first day of its festive season sale.

Leading e-commerce portals like Flipkart, Amazon, Meesho and Snapdeal have started their annual festive season sales.

Without disclosing the actual sales number, Flipkart said early trends in its The Big Billion Days (TBBD) sale indicate that the overall consumer sentiment towards festive shopping is very positive.

Categories such as mobiles, large appliances, fashion, furniture, and home appliances witnessed the greatest interest and demand among buyers, it added.

“TBBD 2022 witnessed an unprecedented number of concurrent users on the app — 1.6 million per second. The number of Flipkart Plus customers using Early Access during TBBD 2022 saw healthy growth as compared to last year’s event. The majority of these customers were from Tier-2 cities and beyond,” Flipkart said.

The Walmart-owned firm said its easy payment option, Flipkart Pay Later EMI, recorded 12 times increase in adoption on day 1.

Flipkart’s e-commerce platform Shopsy drew a majority of customers from Tier-2 cities and beyond with sarees, men’s T-shirts and headphones being the most popular products.

In the sport and fitness category, Flipkart said one cycle was sold every second during the first 24 hours of the event.

“Customers from Bharat (Tier-2 cities and beyond) continued to find value in selection offered by Flipkart, across categories.

“The highest orders came from New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other cities including Berhampur, Howrah, Lucknow, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Karnal, Patna, Bhuwaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, Surat, Agra, Ghaziabad,” the company said.

Apple MacBook Air (M1) could go get a massive price cut during the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale 2022, which will begin on Friday. According to an alleged listing spotted on the Flipkart app by a reliable tipster, the 16GB model of the MacBook Air (M1) may be available for under Rs. 70,000. This M1-powered laptop was launched by Apple in 2020. It features a 13.3-inch Retina IPS display with a 2,560×1,600 resolution and 400 nits of brightness.

According to a tweet by tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings), a 16GB variant of the MacBook Air (M1) will be available for Rs. 69,490 or less during the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale 2022.

Currently, the base MacBook Air M1 variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is listed on Flipkart for Rs. 92,900. Meanwhile, the 16GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced at Rs. 1,12,900.

The MacBook Air M1 sports a 13.3-inch IPS Retina display with a 2,560×1,600 resolution. The Apple M1 chip features an 8-core CPU, a 7/8-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Apple claims that this laptop can provide up to 18 hours of video playback. This laptop from Apple packs up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of onboard storage.

It is equipped with an HD FaceTime camera and a Touch ID sensor. The MacBook Air M1 features stereo speakers enhanced by Dolby Atmos. There is also a three-mic array and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It has a backlit Magic Keyboard and a Force Touch trackpad. This Apple laptop supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.0 wireless connectivity.

Samsung has announced that consumers can avail a discount of 57 percent on the purchase of Galaxy S21 FE 5G at a net effective price of Rs. 31,999 (including bank offers). There is also an exchange offer of up to Rs. 24,000 and an additional Rs. 5,000 on select models. At the time of writing this report, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G price in India for 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is listed as Rs. 49,999 (MRP: Rs. 74,999).

The Samsung Galaxy S22+ can be purchased for Rs. 59,999 after a cumulative discount. The smartphone with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is listed at a price of Rs. 69,999 and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version is listed at a price of Rs. 88,999 on Flipkart. The MRP of these phones are Rs. 1,01,999 and Rs. 1,05,999.

The Samsung Galaxy F23 5G, which is currently listed at a price of Rs. 13,499 (MRP: 23,999), can be purchased for Rs. 10,999. Similarly, the Galaxy F13 will be available at a price of Rs. 8,499. The phone’s 64GB storage model is currently listed at a price of Rs. 11,999 on Flipkart.
