Prince Harry heard about King Charles’ prostate diagnosis from news alert: report

Prince Harry found out about King Charles’ prostate diagnosis from the media rather than Buckingham Palace, according to a report.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, was briefed on his father’s upcoming medical procedure, set to take place next week, in a message that reached him only after he had already read about the news online, sources told the Telegraph.

Insiders said while the palace made an effort to inform all senior members of the royal family, including Harry, the private message reached Harry after the public announcement.

Buckingham Palace announced Charles’ diagnosis at 3:25 p.m. UK time on Wednesday, which was 7:25 a.m. in California, where the Duke resides with his wife Meghan Markle, and their two children.

The Post has reached out to Harry’s reps and Buckingham Palace for comment.

An official announcement from the Palace said that the king, 75, is set to undergo a “corrective procedure” for an enlarged prostate next week.

The statement came less than an hour after Kensington Palace revealed that Kate Middleton, 42, had a planned abdominal surgery this week.

The Princess of Wales was expected to remain in the hospital for 10 to 14 days and has postponed all engagements until after Easter.

The monarch’s former royal butler, Grant Harrold, exclusively told The Post Wednesday that Prince William is no doubt feeling “anxious” that both his wife and father are sitting out of royal engagements amid their respective medical procedures.

Harrold said that Middleton being out of action for the next few months will have a “huge impact” on the royal family behind closed doors.

The father-of-two, who this week withdrew his libel case against the Mail on Sunday, was named a “living legend” before being honored for his time as a helicopter co-pilot in the British Army at the Beverly Hills soiree, which he attended solo.

After taking to the stage to receive his award from John Travolta, Harry recalled the actor’s picture-perfect moment in 1985 when he danced with Diana at President Ronald Reagan’s White House dinner.

“I was just a 1-year-old when you danced with my mom at the White House and now look at us,” Harry told Travolta.

“The only thing left to do is… not dance together but fly together,” he added.

Travolta, who is the “official ambassador of aviation” and a former pilot himself, was reportedly the one who pushed for the exiled royal to be recognized for his stint in the Army.

After presenting Harry with a medal, Travolta asked him, “What can you remember about your first flight?”

“It’s classified,” Harry quipped.

Prince Harry would hold ‘loyalty tests’ on Palace staff: author

Prince Harry reportedly felt distrusting of his staff at Buckingham Palace and become even more “paranoid” of them once he began dating his now-wife, Meghan Markle.

Royal expert Valentine Low and author of the book “Courtiers: the Hidden Power Behind the Crown” claims that the Duke of Sussex, 38, would carry out “loyalty tests” on his employees and was “obsessed” with the press.

Low appeared on “Good Morning Britain” recently and noted how Harry’s feelings were “brewing for a long time — before Meghan.”

“Harry had this obsession with the media. He was so very unhappy,” Low said on the chat show.

In his book, the author penned how Harry would often use the phrase “the palace syndrome.”

He described it as Harry not being able to “fight the battles he wants, because [he] has been institutionalized. Giving in to the media was a key symptom of whether [he] had developed it.”

“It was a constant test of loyalty: ‘Are you going to protect me? Or have you just become one of them, who won’t fight for me?’ It was exhausting,” Low wrote. “His mistrust of the courtiers in the other households; the constant loyalty tests of his own staff: all of this was there before Meghan arrived on the scene.”

Harry’s fears were elevated once he began dating the former “Suits” actress, Low added. The father of two met Markle, 41, in 2016 on a blind date and they married in 2018.

“But after she turned up, it would get significantly worse,” Low said, also revealing that Palace staff who worked with the couple called themselves the “Sussexes Survival Club.”

“It was a very difficult experience for many of [the employees],” the author claimed. “Some people told me they were completely destroyed, they felt sick, they were shook.”

The couple moved to California in 2020 after announcing their decision to take a step back as senior members of the royal family.

Elsewhere in Low’s book, he pointed out how Markle “became obsessed” with the media’s portrayal of her alleged feud with sister-in-law Kate Middleton.

In 2018, Middleton, 41, was seen crying during a bridesmaids’ dress fitting for Markle’s wedding and the latter was adamant about Buckingham Palace making a statement in order to clear the air.

“The truth is that, after the dress fitting, Meghan had become obsessed with trying to persuade the palace press office to put something out denying the story,” Low wrote.

Markle wasn’t the only one hyperfocused on her media image, either.

“Harry’s obsession with the media,” Low explained, “his sense of frustration that he wasn’t achieving everything that he could.”

Royal fans mourn Queen Elizabeth II’s death

Royal fans mourned Queen Elizabeth’s death Thursday as they crowded outside Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle to pay their respects to the long-serving monarch.

“She meant everything to me,” Londoner John Loughrey, 67, told The Post moments after the announcement was posted at the palace gates.

“We’ll never have one like her,” he said. “To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement. I’m so shocked — I can’t believe this,” he said.

Well-wishers had already ignored heavy rain to flock to the 96-year-old’s residences to drop off bouquets of flowers and tributes as soon as Buckingham Palace announced a serious deterioration in her health.

Hundreds were outside the palace at 6:30 p.m. London time when two royal aides fixed a formal statement to the railings announcing that “the Queen died peacefully at Balmoral.”

Just moments earlier, a stunning double rainbow shone over the palace gates — soon replaced by tears among mourners leaving bouquets.

Spanish tourist Carla Fernandez, 32, headed to the palace on her very first day in London.

“We are not big fans of monarchy — but the queen is more than that,” she said.

Raja Patel, from Essex, said he was “scared this would happen soon” — but it still left him “absolutely devastated.”

He said there were “not enough flowers in the world for her. She was full of class.”

Queen Elizabeth, who was the UK’s longest serving monarch after assuming the throne in 1952, had called Buckingham Palace home for most of her record-breaking reign.

In her final years, the Queen had been living at Windsor Castle — her weekend home just outside London — where she had spent her last days with her late husband Prince Philip before he died in April 2021.

Her death Thursday came just two days after she was seen smiling broadly while confirming the appointment of new Prime Minister Liz Truss at Balmoral, the late queen’s Scottish residence..

However, the images sparked health concerns over deep blue bruising on her hand — and earlier Thursday the palace revealed that her doctors were “concerned for Her Majesty’s health.”

The 96-year-old monarch had cut back her public appearances in the months before her death because of ongoing mobility issues.

She had made only a few appearances during her four-day Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June, which marked her 70 years on the throne, and was seen clutching a walking stick at events that followed.

The Queen’s passing marks the beginning of an official 12-day mourning period across Great Britain.

Her funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey at the end of the mourning period.
