Xiaomi 12X Starts Receiving Android 12 Update With April 2022 Security Patch Globally

Xiaomi 12X has started getting the Android 12 update with MIUI 13 on top globally. The smartphone was launched in December last year with Android 11. The European markets had started receiving the Android 12 update two weeks ago. The smartphone appeared on a community forum with the build number V13.0.1.0.SLDMIXM. The handset is also said to be getting the April 2022 Android security patch with the latest update. The size of the update is 3.1GB and is said to bring system security improvements.

According to the Xiaomiui community forum, Xiaomi 12X has started receiving the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update. Although, the smartphone is getting the [Android 12] update, it still misses out on the latest May 2022 security patch and instead is only getting the April 2022 security patch. The April 2022 security patch is said to be bringing several enhancements in terms of system security. Xiaomi had first started rolling out the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update two weeks ago for the European markets.

The latest update for the Xiaomi 12X is 3.1GB in size and has the build number V13.0.1.0.SLDMIXM.

Xiaomi 12X should update to Android 12 automatically. In case it doesn’t, eligible users can manually update the smartphone by heading over to Settings > About Phone > MIUI Version > Download Update.

To recall, Xiaomi 12X smartphone was first launched in December last year. The smartphone features a 6.28-inch touchscreen with Gorilla Glass protection and a triple rear camera configuration. The handset has a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.88, a 5-megapixel, and a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.4. At the front, it sports a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and a 4,500mAh battery. For storage, it has 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. At the time of the launch, the smartphone came with Android 11 with MIUI 13 on top.

Moto G42 with Snapdragon 680 SoC, Android 12 Spotted on Geekbench, Could Launch Soon

Moto G42 has been spotted on the Geekbench database, hinting at a few key specifications and an imminent launch. The listing has indicated that the upcoming handset will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. The smartphone from Motorola is also said to run on Android 12 out of the box. Recently the renders of the Moto G42 were leaked by a tipster suggesting that the upcoming smartphone will come with a triple rear camera setup. Earlier, the phone was also spotted on the Wi-Fi Alliance database with the model number XT2233-2.

The Geekbench listing first spotted by MySmartPrice, shows the Moto G42 with the codename ‘hawao’, which is said to be a reference to the Snapdragon 680 4G SoC that comes with four performance cores clocked at 1.9GHz and four power-efficient cores clocked at 2.4GHz. Therefore, the Moto G42 is expected to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. The smartphone is said to rely on Adreno 610 GPU. The listing also indicates that the smartphone will come with 4GB of RAM. The handset will likely run on Android 12 out of the box, as mentioned above.

Motorola Moto G42 was spotted on the Geekbench website with 376 points in the single-core test and 1538 in the multi-core test.

As mentioned, the Moto G42’s renders were also leaked on Twitter recently. As per the renders, the smartphone is expected to sport a triple rear camera setup with flash and a hole-punch camera on the front. The phone may also feature side-mounted volume and power buttons, and a speaker grill and microphone hole on either side of the USB Type-C charging port at the bottom.

Moreover, the upcoming smartphone was also seen listed on the Wi-Fi Alliance database with the certification ID WFA119264 saying that the phone will feature support for dual-band Wi-Fi.

Motorola is yet to officially confirm and share details regarding the availability and pricing of the Moto G42 in global markets.

Realme Confirms GT Neo 3T Launch Date Confirmed, 3 Variants Expected

Realme had announced that it will soon hold the GT Neo 3 series launch event and that the three in the GT Neo 3 also stands for three models and not just third-generation. Now, the Chinese company has confirmed that one of the three upcoming models, Realme GT Neo 3T, will launch on June 7. The smartphone has been tipped to launch in India next month with a Snapdragon 870 SoC. It is expected to be the successor to the GT Neo 2T that was launched in China in October last year.

The Chinese smartphone brand, Realme, has announced in a tweet that the company will launch the Realme GT Neo 3T at its upcoming GT Neo 3 series launch event. Realme Indonesia has confirmed a June 7 launch date via Twitter for the smartphone.

Earlier, the company had tweeted that in the near future the company will hold the GT Neo 3 series launch event. The company also said that there will be three models of the smartphone.

Realme GT Neo 3T is the first model that the company has confirmed of the three that will launch at the event. The company had also teased the model 4 hours before the confirmation.

According to a report, the Realme GT Neo 3T will come with a 6.5-inch touchscreen and 256GB of internal memory. The smartphone is expected to get a 64-megapixel primary camera and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone was also spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website. The listing showed that the smartphone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC with a 1 + 3 + 4 core configuration and Adreno 650 GPU. Based on the details, it is expected to get the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. The smartphone is also expected to get an 8GB RAM variant and Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 on top. It is said to be the successor to the Realme GT Neo 2T that was launched in China in October 2021.

Realme GT Neo 3T has been tipped to launch in June 2022 in India, but the company is yet to confirm official launch dates of the model in the country. The company has also not provided any details regarding the price of the device.

Oppo F17, A73 Receiving Android 12-Based ColorOS Update

Oppo F17 and Oppo A73 has started receiving the official ColorOS 12 update. The latest update based on Android 12 is currently rolling out in India and Vietnam. However, the users are required to submit an application if they want to receive the ColorOS 12 update during the initial rollout phase, according to the company. Prior to this, both Oppo smartphone models had received the ColorOS 12 Beta version in April.

Oppo through a community news post announced the release of ColorOS 12 for the Oppo F17 in India. The company also separately announced the same for the Oppo A73 in Vietnam as well.

The smartphone maker has mentioned some points for the users to be noted before upgrading the phones, including preparing a backup before updating in order to avoid data loss caused by any unforeseen circumstances.

Meanwhile, if you want get the official version of the ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 on your Oppo phone, you can apply for it by going to Settings  >  About phone >  Software update > Detect the ColorOS 12 version > Trial Version.

The eligible users are also recommended to make sure that their device is on the latest official version of ColorOS.

As mentioned above, the Oppo F17 and the Oppo A73 had received the beta version of the ColorOS12 update based on Android 12 in April.

To recall, the Oppo F17 made its debut in India in September 2020, while the Oppo A73 was launched in October 2020 in Tunisia. The phone was quite similar to the F17 model.

Motorola has confirmed the launch of a new smartphone in China in July. This Motorola smartphone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and will have a 200-megapixel camera. The highlight of this phone will be the 200-megapixel rear camera that is said to use the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor. For selfies, the smartphone is expected to get a 60-megapixel shooter.

Samsung Galaxy M22 Receiving Android 12-Based One UI 4.1 Update: Report

Samsung Galaxy M22 has reportedly started receiving the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update. The update is said to bring the latest custom skin by the South Korean tech giant along with the April 2022 security patch. The Android 12 update for the Samsung Galaxy M-series phone comes with firmware version M225FVXXU4BFD8. It is currently rolling out in Saudi Arabia and UAE and is likely to reach more countries over the next few days. Samsung recently rolled out the security update for the Samsung Galaxy A31.

As per a report by SamMobile, One UI 4.1 update based on Android 12 for Samsung Galaxy M22 comes with firmware version M225FVXXU4BFD8 and carries the April 2022 Android security patch. It is reportedly available for Galaxy M22 units in Saudi Arabia and UAE with model number SM-M225FV.

The One UI 4.1, the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom skin, offers a RAM Plus feature. Google Duo Live Sharing, Smart Widgets, and improved low-light portrait photography are the other major highlights. Further, the update brings Smart Calendar and some camera tweaks.

Eligible Samsung Galaxy M22 users will receive the latest update automatically. Samsung Galaxy A31 is reportedly receiving its Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update in Russia. Launched in March 2020, the smartphone initially came with the Android 10-based One UI. The update is currently rolling out in Russia and is expected to reach more countries over the next few days. The new update will add a redesigned user interface with colour palette feature, better stock applications and more. The Samsung device received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in April last year and is currently listed to receive biannual security updates.

According to a report by SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy A31 has started receiving its Android 12 update along with the South Korean company’s One UI 4.1 in Russia. The report further added that the new update is expected to reach users in more countries over the next few days. Realme has separately created a dedicated microsite that confirms the existence of the Realme Narzo 50 5G edition, the 5G enabled variant of the original Narzo 50. The company claims on the microsite that it is offering its Narzo 50 5G series will carry the fastest 5G processor in the segment and also the best cooling technology in the segment. The Realme Narzo 50 5G is rumoured to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC, coupled with the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. It is also expected to come with Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 custom skin out-of-the-box.

In April, some Realme Narzo 50 5G alleged specifications were tipped along with its supposed launch date. Earlier today, another report suggested the Realme Narzo 50 5G’s look as a few renders of the smartphone leaked.

Vivo X80 Pro Specifications Tipped Ahead of Launch on April 25, Include Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC

Vivo X80 Pro specifications have been tipped ahead of its launch on April 25 in China. The device is expected to be launched alongside Vivo X80 and X80 Pro+ on the same day. Reportedly, the upcoming Vivo X80 Pro will include Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, 120Hz display, 50-megapixel quad cameras, and 80W fast charging. Previous leaks also suggest that the Vivo X80 series will resemble the Vivo X Note that launched earlier this month in China.

A report by 91Mobiles along with tipster Ishan Agarwal shared specifications of the upcoming Vivo X80 Pro, one of the three flagships that Vivo has planned to launch in the next few days. Vivo has also shared several official marketing renders that showcase the X80 Pro in three colours.

As per the report, the Vivo X80 Pro will run on Android 12 and feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. As mentioned, the Vivo handset could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. For optics, Vivo X80 Pro is tipped to carry a quad rear camera unit.

The camera setup is said to include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 12-megapixel portrait telephoto camera, and an 8-megapixel periscope lens with 5x optical and 60x digital zoom support. Also, the X80 Pro is expected to feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, curved display edges and a centred punch hole for a single front camera packed with 32-megapixel.

Vivo X80 Pro is expected to offer 256GB and 512GB of internal storage. It could include a 4,700mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging 50W wireless charging. Moreover, it is said to measure 164.6×75.3×9.1mm and weigh 220 grams.
