Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 Wi-Fi and LTE Models Get Android 13-Based One UI 5.0 Update: Report

Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 series is reportedly getting the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for both its LTE as well as Wi-Fi versions. The One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy Tab A8 Wi-fi is rolling out in Europe, including Romania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, and more. In India, the update is rolling out to the Galaxy Tab A8 LTE model. The LTE version of the tablet is also getting the OS update in several other markets. The update brings in new features, a cleaner design, and performance improvements. The Galaxy Tab A8 was launched in India in January 2022 with Android 11 onboard.

According to a report by SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 Wi-Fi model is currently receiving the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update in European countries like Romania, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, the UK, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Baltic and Nordic countries, Switzerland, Slovakia, Italy, and more. The Galaxy Tab A8 latest OS update comes with the firmware version X205XXU1CVL6 in Europe, as per the report.

Similarly, the Galaxy Tab A8 LTE model in India is getting One UI 5.0 along with firmware version X205XXU1CVL5. The update is said to bring better performance, a new UI design, slightly redesigned elements in the Settings app, along with improved privacy and security. It will also get multitasking features through the new multi-window gestures as well as access to a new convenient taskbar.

Users can manually check if the update is available on their Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Meanwhile, Samsung is reportedly planning to bring a new Galaxy A series smartphone to the Indian market — the Galaxy A14 (rumored). Though there is no official statement on the exact monikers of the upcoming smartphone, an alleged promotional image of the India-specific variant has been leaked. The tipped image suggests that the Galaxy A14 Indian variant may arrive with Exynos 1330 SoC and Mediatek Dimensity 700 SoC-powered models.

ZTE Blade V40 Pro With 6.67-inch AMOLED Display Launched: Price, Specifications

ZTE Blade V40 Pro smartphone has been launched in Mexico. The smartphone sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that covers the full DCI-P3 wide colour gamut along with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The ZTE Blade V40 Pro smartphone packs a 5,100mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. The company claims that the newly launched smartphone can be charged up to 50 percent in just 15 minutes. ZTE had unveiled the Blade V40 Pro smartphone at MWC 2022 in March, along with the other models of the ZTE Blade V40 series.

The ZTE Blade V40 Pro has been priced at MXN 7,499 (roughly Rs. 29,000) in Mexico for the sole 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The Blade V40 Pro smartphone from ZTE is available to purchase in Dark Green and Iridescent White colour options in Mexico.

The ZTE Blade V40 Pro sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a centered punch hole for the selfie camera and covers the full DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. The smartphone runs on Android 11. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T618 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

On the camera front, the ZTE Blade V40 Pro smartphone comes with a 64-megapixel triple camera setup, which includes a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video chats, the smartphone comes with a 16-megapixel front camera with an AI-assisted facial beauty filter.

In terms of battery, as mentioned above, the ZTE Blade V40 Pro packs a 5,100mAh battery with 65W fast charging support. Moreover, the smartphone weighs 163.9×76.2×8.3mm.

To recall, ZTE launched the Blade V40 series of smartphones at MWC 2022 in March. The series includes ZTE Blade V40 5G, ZTE Blade V40, ZTE Blade V40 Pro, and ZTE Blade V40 Vita.

Tecno Spark 8P India launch was teased by the Chinese company on Monday. To recall, the smartphone made its debut in some markets last year. Now, Tecno Mobile India has released a teaser that shows that the upcoming Tecno smartphone will offer ‘7GB’ of RAM. The teaser also shows that the Tecno Spark 8P will come with a 50-megapixel triple rear camera in India. The smartphone sports a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Dot Notch Screen with a resolution of 1080×2408 pixels. The launch of the Indian variant of the smartphone is expected soon, but unfortunately, exact details weren’t provided.

The India launch of the Tecno Spark 8P smartphone has been teased by Tecno Mobile India on Twitter as well as on Facebook. However, the exact date of its launch in India has not been revealed yet but the teaser shows that the Tecno Spark 8P is coming soon.

As for the expected price of the Tecno Spark 8P in India, the smartphone was launched in the Philippines in November last year, at PHP 7,499 (roughly Rs. 10,800). We can expect India pricing to be around the same.

As mentioned above, the teaser released by the company shows that the upcoming Indian variant of the Tecno Spark 8P carries 7GB of RAM. Of course, this must mean it uses Tecno’s Memory Fusion tech, using 3GB of onboard storage to virtually increase the total RAM from the 4GB actually offered. Also, it has been confirmed that it will feature a 50-megapixel triple rear camera setup. Apart from this, the company has not revealed any other specifications of the Indian variant of the Tecno Spark 8P.

The global variant of the Tecno Spark 8P sports a 6.6-inch FHD+ Dot Notch Screen with a resolution of 1080×2408 pixels at a pixel density of 480 pixels per inch (ppi). It is powered by an octa-core SoC (different countries have different processors), with the Philippines variant powered by a MediaTek Helio G70 SoC. It runs on Android 11. There is an 8-megapixel front facing camera on board, with a dual flash module. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Also, the global variant of the smartphone comes with DTS Stereo Sound Effect and packs a 5,000mAh battery.

Poco Smartphone Spotted on Mi Code, Said to Be Rebranded Redmi Note 10S: Report

Poco is reportedly launching a new smartphone this year and it is said to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 10S. The Chinese brand is also expected to launch a Pro variant of the smartphone as well. The details of the rumoured smartphone were reportedly spotted in Mi Code. The handset was also spotted on the EEC certification list and the IMEI database. The vanilla and the Pro variants are said to be codenamed ‘rosemaryp’ and ‘rosemaryp_pro’, respectively. The rumoured handset is said to feature specifications similar to the Redmi Note 10S.

According to a report from Xiaomiui, Poco is expected to launch a new phone that will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 10S. The report said that the company will launch the rumoured smartphone in two variants, vanilla and Pro. The vanilla variant of the smartphone has been codenamed ‘rosemaryp’ and the Pro variant has been codenamed ‘rosemaryp_pro’.

The report added that the two rebranded variants were spotted on the Mi Code recently, and a month back on the EEC certification site and IMEI database. It was said that the rumoured smartphones will be released with the model number 2207117BPG and K7BP. Since, the smartphone is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 10S, it can be assumed that the specifications of the rumoured handset will be similar to that of the Redmi smartphone.

Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 10S in India in May last year. The smartphone is powered by the octa-core MedtaTek Helio G95 SoC coupled with the Mali-G76 MC4 GPU and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. It launched with Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 on top. The smartphone features a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED touchscreen that is designed to deliver 1,100 nits of peak brightness. The display of the handset also came with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The smartphone was initially launched with only 6GB RAM storage options. Later, Xiaomi launched the 8GB RAM variant as well. Currently, the smartphone is sold in India in three RAM + storage options, 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB.

Samsung Galaxy A04s With Exynos 850 SoC, Android 12 Spotted on Geekbench

Samsung can be expected to launch a new A-series phone soon as Galaxy A04s has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking website. The listing has also revealed some specifications of the phone. It will be powered by an octa-core Exynos 850 SoC with a base clock speed of 2GHz. It will be running Android 12 and will have 3GB RAM. Earlier, the renders of the smartphone had leaked online. The smartphone is expected to come with a 6.5-inch display with a V-shaped notch at the top.

An A-series smartphone from Samsung with the model number SM-A047F has made an appearance on the Geekbench website, and it is likely the upcoming Galaxy A04s. Through an earlier report about leaked renders and specifications, it is already known that the South Korean company is working on this phone.

The Geekbench results of Samsung Galaxy A04 have revealed some specifications of the smartphone. It will likely be powered by an octa-core Exynos 850 SoC with a base clock speed of 2GHz. It is listed as being equipped with 3GB RAM and is running Android 12 out-of-the-box. The smartphone scored 152 in single-core performance and 585 in multi-core performance.

The earlier reportm which included leaked renders and specifications of the smartphone had said that the Galaxy A04s is expected to get a 6.5-inch HD+ resolution display with a V-shaped notch at the top. The smartphone is also expected to sport features similar to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A03s.

To recall, Samsung Galaxy A03s was launched in August last year. The affordable smartphone came with a triple rear camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary camera and two 2-megapixel shooters.

Samsung Galaxy A03s featured a 6.5-inch touchscreen with 720X1,600 resolution. The handset was powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 and came with Android 11 out-of-the-box. It also got 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. The smartphone also featured a 5,000mAh battery.

The Geekbench listing for the Galaxy A04s and the earlier leaked renders of the smartphone point towards an imminent launch.

Xiaomi 12X Starts Receiving Android 12 Update With April 2022 Security Patch Globally

Xiaomi 12X has started getting the Android 12 update with MIUI 13 on top globally. The smartphone was launched in December last year with Android 11. The European markets had started receiving the Android 12 update two weeks ago. The smartphone appeared on a community forum with the build number V13.0.1.0.SLDMIXM. The handset is also said to be getting the April 2022 Android security patch with the latest update. The size of the update is 3.1GB and is said to bring system security improvements.

According to the Xiaomiui community forum, Xiaomi 12X has started receiving the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update. Although, the smartphone is getting the [Android 12] update, it still misses out on the latest May 2022 security patch and instead is only getting the April 2022 security patch. The April 2022 security patch is said to be bringing several enhancements in terms of system security. Xiaomi had first started rolling out the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update two weeks ago for the European markets.

The latest update for the Xiaomi 12X is 3.1GB in size and has the build number V13.0.1.0.SLDMIXM.

Xiaomi 12X should update to Android 12 automatically. In case it doesn’t, eligible users can manually update the smartphone by heading over to Settings > About Phone > MIUI Version > Download Update.

To recall, Xiaomi 12X smartphone was first launched in December last year. The smartphone features a 6.28-inch touchscreen with Gorilla Glass protection and a triple rear camera configuration. The handset has a 50-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.88, a 5-megapixel, and a 13-megapixel camera with f/2.4. At the front, it sports a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC and a 4,500mAh battery. For storage, it has 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. At the time of the launch, the smartphone came with Android 11 with MIUI 13 on top.
