Samsung Galaxy S22 Series Exynos Variant Gets June 2022 Android Security Patch: Report

Samsung Galaxy S22 series with Exynos 2200 SoC has started receiving the June 2022 Android security patch in several European countries, as per a report. The napdragon variant of the smartphones had reportedly started receiving the June 2022 security patch in United Arab Emirates (UAE) on June 2. The update for the Exynos variant is said to come with the firmware version S90xBXXU2AVEH and for the Snapdragon variant with S90xEXXU2AVEH. The new security patch for the Exynos variant is expected to start reaching other markets in the next few days.

According to a report from Sammobile, the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S22 series from Samsung has started receiving the June 2022 Android security patch with the firmware version S90xBXXU2AVEH.

It is said that the June 2022 security patch is currently available in various European countries, including Germany, for Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The update is said to reach other markets in the next few days.

Another report, dated June 2, from Sammobile had claimed that the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy S22 series has started receiving the June 2022 Android security patch with the firmware version S90xEXXU2AVEH. At the time, the update was said to be available in UAE and was expected to expand to other markets gradually.

The latest security patch for Android is expected to bring various fixes for privacy and security vulnerabilities of the Samsung smartphones. The report added that the update could improve performance, provide better stability, and fix general bugs.

The Samsung smartphones in Galaxy S22 series will automatically receive the latest security patch. If they haven’t, eligible users can manually update their smartphones by heading over to Settings > Software update > Download and Install.

According to a recent report, Samsung had started rolling out the June 2022 security patch for the Galaxy S21 series in late-May with the firmware version G998BXXU5CVEB in Germany.

To recall, Samsung had launched the Galaxy S22 series in India in February this year as the successor to the Galaxy S21 series. The Samsung Galaxy S22 was launched at a price of Rs. 72,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB internal memory. It was also offered in the 8GB RAM + 256GB internal memory variant with the price tag of Rs. 76,999. It ran Android 12 with One UI 4.1 on top. The smartphone came with 6.1-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen with support of variable refresh rate of 48Hz to 120Hz.

Samsung Galaxy M22 Receiving Android 12-Based One UI 4.1 Update: Report

Samsung Galaxy M22 has reportedly started receiving the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update. The update is said to bring the latest custom skin by the South Korean tech giant along with the April 2022 security patch. The Android 12 update for the Samsung Galaxy M-series phone comes with firmware version M225FVXXU4BFD8. It is currently rolling out in Saudi Arabia and UAE and is likely to reach more countries over the next few days. Samsung recently rolled out the security update for the Samsung Galaxy A31.

As per a report by SamMobile, One UI 4.1 update based on Android 12 for Samsung Galaxy M22 comes with firmware version M225FVXXU4BFD8 and carries the April 2022 Android security patch. It is reportedly available for Galaxy M22 units in Saudi Arabia and UAE with model number SM-M225FV.

The One UI 4.1, the latest iteration of Samsung’s custom skin, offers a RAM Plus feature. Google Duo Live Sharing, Smart Widgets, and improved low-light portrait photography are the other major highlights. Further, the update brings Smart Calendar and some camera tweaks.

Eligible Samsung Galaxy M22 users will receive the latest update automatically. Still, keen users can also manually check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Users can update their Samsung smartphones while they are connected to a strong Wi-Fi and are put on charging.

To recall, Samsung Galaxy M22 was launched in select markets in September last year. The handset has not been unveiled in India yet.

The smartphone sports a 6.4-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by an octa-core processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The storage supports expansion via a microSD card (up to 1TB). The Galaxy M22 features a quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and two 2-megapixel sensors. At the front, it gets a 13-megapixel primary sensor. The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

Samsung Galaxy A31 Starts Receiving Android 12-Based One UI 4.1 Update: Report

Samsung Galaxy A31 is reportedly receiving its Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update in Russia. Launched in March 2020, the smartphone initially came with the Android 10-based One UI. The update is currently rolling out in Russia and is expected to reach more countries over the next few days. The new update will add a redesigned user interface with colour palette feature, better stock applications and more. The Samsung device received the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in April last year and is currently listed to receive biannual security updates.

According to a report by SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy A31 has started receiving its Android 12 update along with the South Korean company’s One UI 4.1 in Russia. The report further added that the new update is expected to reach users in more countries over the next few days. However, there are no details on when the update will be available for users in India.

Samsung Galaxy A31 Android 12 update features

The Samsung Galaxy A31’s Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update will bring several new features to the mid-range smartphone.

The update brings the April 2022 Security Patch to the smartphone that fixes over 80 privacy and security vulnerabilities. It also brings the firmware version A315FXXU1DVD8 to the Samsung device. Along with the security patch, the update comes with a renewed user interface design with Colour Palette feature and improved stock applications.

Along with the cosmetic and security updates to the user interface, the update also offers better privacy and performance improvements.

The Samsung Galaxy A31 should update to Android 12 automatically, but if it hasn’t, you can manually update it by heading over to Settings > Software update > Download and Install.

The smartphone started receiving the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update in April 2021 starting with South Korea and later expanding to the international market. The Samsung Galaxy A31 is currently listed on Samsung’s website under the list of phones which are supposed to get security updates biannually.

Recently, Samsung had also reportedly started rolling out the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update for Samsung Galaxy A51 in Saudi Arabia and South Africa as part of a broader plan to push updates for the smartphone.
