The Witcher Season 3 Netflix Release Set for Summer 2023, Teaser Art Revealed — Tudum 2022

The Witcher season 3 is slated to release in the summer of 2023. At its online-only event Tudum 2022, Netflix dropped a teaser art for the Henry Cavill-led dark fantasy series, featuring Geralt’s shattered medallion — whose fragments take the shape of a swallow and a star. Season 3 follows Geralt’s journey into the fortress of Aretuza, as he yet again escorts Ciri of Cintra (Freya Allan), who was revealed to have the Elder Blood coursing through her veins. Anya Chalotra returns to play Yennefer the sorceress, who maintains a complicated relationship with him.

Plot details for The Witcher season 3 are vague, but clues from the teaser image indicate that this chapter will see the trio working together, to protect Ciri from danger. For the uninitiated, the swallow symbol translates to Zireael, which is an old gwyhyr sword forged by gnomes in Tir Tochair — given to Ciri as a gift. Meanwhile, the upside-down star-like symbol is the Obsidian, which is worn by Yennefer in both the Netflix series and the CD Projekt Red video games.

In season 2, Geralt (Cavill) discovered that Ciri possessed some otherworldly powers, far beyond the knowledge of a monster hunter. Therefore, he seeks ex-lover Yennefer’s help, to understand its complexities and how she could master it to avert any dangers. But upon reaching the grounds of Aretuza, the group realises they’ve landed in a battlefield, brimming with political corruption, dark magic, and treachery.

Filming for The Witcher season 3 began in April, with Netflix revealing its director lineup of four. This includes Stephen Surjik (The Umbrella Academy), Gandja Monteiro (Brand New Cherry Flavor), Loni Peristere (American Horror Story), and Bola Ogun (Lucifer).

Everyone besides Surjik — who directed the first two episodes of The Witcher season 2 — is new to the world of The Witcher. Going by past trends and the fact that there are four directors, we could assume each director gets to helm two episodes each, in the upcoming season. The Witcher season 3 also ropes in new members Meng’er Zhang (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Robbie Amell (The Babysitter).

The Witcher 3 is set to release in the summer of 2023, exclusively on Netflix. Mind you, that’s the American summer, not Indian.

The Witcher: Blood Origin Sets December 25 Release Date at Netflix Tudum 2022

The Witcher: Blood Origin just got a release date. At its online-only event Tudum 2022, Netflix revealed that the much-anticipated The Witcher prequel series will drop on December 25. The news comes about a year since Netflix released a post-credits teaser for the show, after the final episode of The Witcher season 2. The studio also revealed a poster, featuring the armaments of lead warriors Haji and Fjall, played by Sophia Brown and Laurence O’Fuarain, respectively. Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) also leads the cast as Scian, a sword-elf.

Set in an elven world, 1,200 years before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin follows seven outcasts, who unite in a blood quest against an unstoppable power. The six-episode series explores important lore events, such as The Conjunction of the Spheres, which merged the realms of humans, monsters, and elves into one. While Geralt of Rivia and Vesemir are the most notorious and beloved monster hunters, The Witcher: Blood Origin offers a glimpse at the very first prototype witcher — they are genetic mutations, for those who aren’t aware.

That said, both events are set centuries apart from each other, raising the question as to how Netflix intends to cover them, without creating a mess. As per an interactive map from the studio, the first witcher was created by mages 967 years post the Conjunction event. This amounts to a 233-year difference between the two plotlines — a mammoth task — which makes the 10-year time jump in HBO’s House of the Dragon look like a child’s play.

Declan de Barra, who wrote two episodes in the Henry Cavill-led series, returns as creator in The Witcher: Blood Origin. He is joined by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who executive produced the mainline The Witcher series. The prequel also stars Mirren Mack, Jacob Collins, Lenny Henry, Lizzie Annis, Huw Novelli, Amy Murray, Francesca Mills, Nathaniel Curtis Zach Wyatt, and Dylan Moran.

The Witcher: Blood Origin drops December 25, exclusively on Netflix.

3 Body Problem is coming to Netflix in 2023. At its online-only event Tudum 2022, the world’s biggest subscription-based video streaming service revealed that its live-action adaptation of the renowned Chinese sci-fi novel The Three-Body Problem will premiere sometime next year. Alongside, we got a behind-the-scenes look at 3 Body Problem, which wrapped filming recently and is now in post-production. Created by executive producers David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo, 3 Body Problem chronicles the discovery of extraterrestrial life in the universe. Benioff and Weiss are best known for creating and running Game of Thrones for all eight seasons.

While the books — The Three-Body Problem is part of a trilogy — are largely centred on Chinese protagonists, Netflix’s 3 Body Problem is taking a more global approach. 3 Body Problem stars Jovan Adepo (Overlord), John Bradley (Game of Thrones), Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones), Eiza González (Baby Driver), Jess Hong (Creamerie), Marlo Kelly (Dare Me), Alex Sharp (The Hustle), Sea Shimooka (Arrow), Zine Tseng (On a Whim), Saamer Usmani (Inventing Anna), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes), Rosalind Chao (Better Things), Ben Schnetzer (Y: The Last Man), and Eve Ridley (Casualty).

Bernadette Caulfield (Game of Thrones, The X-Files), Rian Johnson (Knives Out, Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Ram Bergman, and Nena Rodrigue are also executive producers on 3 Body Problem, alongside Yoozoo Group’s late chairman Lin Qi, The Three-Body Universe CEO Zhao Jilong, Rosamund Pike, Robie Uniacke Dede Gardner, and Brad Pitt. 3 Body Problem is a production of T-Street, Plan B Entertainment, and Primitive Streak.

Emily in Paris Season 3 Trailer: Netflix Sets December 21 Release Date at Tudum 2022

Emily in Paris season 3 now has a release date: December 21. At its online-only event Tudum 2022, Netflix announced that the Lily Collins-led rom-com series will return in December — almost exactly a year after the arrival of season 2. Alongside, we have a humorous 30-second teaser trailer for Emily in Paris season 3 where Emily Cooper (Collins) makes a big life decision. That’s a bit of a diversion, I’ve to admit, as you’ll find out soon enough. The Netflix series’ future is already set in stone, as Emily in Paris was renewed for seasons 3 and 4 at the start of the year.

“This is the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. This is just something I’ve to do,” Emily says via voiceover at the start of the first Emily in Paris season 3 trailer. Meanwhile, we are shown glimpses of the men she’s loved, and the women she’s worked for. (Lucien Laviscount, who continues to play Emily’s love interest on season 3, shows up for a split second.) But it’s all a distraction — Emily isn’t talking about a big work or personal choice. She’s talking about her hair. Emily is getting bangs in season 3 — on a whim, because “it’s Paris.”

Mindy’s (Ashley Park) reaction as she walks into their bathroom is one we can all relate to (“Emily, noooo!”), but what’s done is done. Emily must embrace the choices she has made. The rest of the Emily in Paris season 3 teaser trailer is made up of Emily flaunting a number of new outfits out and about Paris — to be fair, that’s like half the reason this show exists — before Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) interrupts the montage and asks, “Are you okay, Emily?”

“They are just bangs, okay,” Emily barks at Gabriel in protest. “Sometimes, people cut bangs when everything’s fine.” Sounds to me someone is trying to reassure herself everything is fine. The first Emily in Paris season 3 trailer ends there, closing out with the release date and season 3 written in French (“saison trois”).

Laviscount will reprise his role in the season 3 as Emily’s love interest, Alfie, an English banker who was introduced to Emily in her French class during season 2. There are no major additions to Emily in Paris season 3 known so far.

The Crown Season 5 Release Date Set for November 9 on Netflix — Tudum 2022

The Crown season 5 now has a release date: November 9. At its online-only event Tudum 2022, Netflix announced that the fifth season of its period drama about the British royals will arrive in less than seven weeks. With the recent death of Queen Elizabeth II — played in the OTT series by Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix) in season 5, who takes over from Olivia Colman — The Crown season 5 is no doubt going to be an even bigger event for Netflix, given the increased interest in her life these days. Season 5 is set to be the penultimate season of The Crown, with an already-renewed season 6 in the works.

Staunton is not the only change in cast member — naturally. Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes) is set to succeed Tobias Menzies in the role of the Queen’s husband and Duke of Edinburg, Prince Philip, who died in April last year. Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread), meanwhile, is going to play Princess Margaret, Elizabeth’s younger sister, taking over from Helena Bonham Carter. Dominic West (The Affair, The Wire) replaces Josh O’Connor, who previously played Prince Charles — crowned King Charles III earlier in September in real life — while Elizabeth Debicki (Tenet, Widows) is the new Princess Diana in the series, replacing Emma Corrin.

The Crown season 5 will arrive nearly two years on from the release of season 4 — that was partly intentional, with the creators taking a yearlong filming break after filming on season 4 wrapped in March 2020. Production on the fifth season began in July 2021.

While The Crown season 5 was originally intended to be the show’s final hurrah, that changed while storylines were being written for season 5. “It soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons,” The Crown creator Peter Morgan said then.

Heart of Stone Trailer: Alia Bhatt, Gal Gadot Tease Their Netflix Action Thriller at Tudum 2022

Heart of Stone first look is here. At its online-only event Tudum 2022, Netflix unveiled the first teaser trailer for the Gal Gadot-led action spy thriller movie, mixed with bits of behind-the-scenes that feature its cast members — Jamie Dornan and Alia Bhatt are also part of Heart of Stone — talking about what we can expect. Bhatt makes her Hollywood debut on Heart of Stone, which centres on CIA agent Rachel Stone (Gadot). Tom Harper (The Aeronauts) directs, off a screenplay by comic book writer Greg Rucka (Wonder Woman), and Allison Schroeder (Hidden Figures).

“You know what you signed up for. No friends, no relationships. What we do is too important,” an unseen character says at the start of the first Heart of Stone trailer, before Gadot chimes in to describe the film: “It’s a super-grounded, raw action thriller.” Bhatt then drops in to add that Heart of Stone has “characters that you really connect with and feel for.” We’re given a few more seconds of action snippets from Heart of Stone, before Dornan notes that “there’s so much going on, and it’s so big scale.”

“We really wanted to make sure we keep it realistic, so people can feel the pain,” Gadot says as she returns. Her character “lives off adrenaline, she’s addicted to it.” There’s several more seconds of action — car crashes, snowmobile chases, explosions, and people jumping out of planes — as the Heart of Stone teaser trailer closes out.

Heart of Stone is designed to be the start of an action thriller franchise, in the vein of Tom Cruise-led Mission: Impossible. That’s a mighty tall order — Cruise has been doing M:I films for nearly three decades now — but Netflix has gotten ever so desperate in having its own IPs. In fact, Gadot has already been at the centre of another action thriller, Red Notice, that’s also meant to be a franchise for Netflix.

Announced in late 2020 with Gadot, Netflix came on board for Heart of Stone in early 2021. Dornan joined the cast in February this year, with Bhatt added in March alongside Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighöfer, Jing Lusi, and Paul Ready. Filming also began in March — going to London, Reykjavík, and Lisbon — and concluded in July.

Enola Holmes 2 Trailer: Millie Bobby Brown Heads Her First Official Case at Tudum 2022

Enola Holmes 2 trailer is here. On Saturday, at its online-only event Tudum 2022, Netflix unveiled the first trailer for the Millie Bobby Brown-led mystery sequel, ahead of its release on November 4. Based on the eponymous young-adult novel series, this next chapter sees the teen detective return to tackle her first official case. Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham-Carter reprise their roles as elder brother Sherlock Holmes and matriarch Eudoria, respectively. Harry Bradbeer returns to direct from a script penned by Jack Thorne.

The Enola Holmes 2 trailer begins with our young detective (Brown) getting chased by local police officers — presumably over some misunderstanding. Fashioned in a fourth-wall-breaking format, where Enola explains the premise of the sequel. “My name is Enola Holmes. I started a detective agency,” she says proudly — only to realise that life as a female detective-for-hire is not as easy as it seems. Sunken in the shadow of her older, more established brother Sherlock (Cavill), one day, luck catches up to her, in the form of a penniless matchstick girl.

“My sister. She disappeared a week ago,” the unnamed girl says, which is instantly met with a yes. “At last, I would be a detective in my own right, worthy of the Holmes name,” a confident Enola says. The Enola Holmes 2 trailer also hints at romance, as we are introduced to Viscount Tewkesbury (Louise Partridge), the runaway heir to the late Marquess of Basilwether. As clues unravel themselves, our heroine crosses paths with her brother, who reveals that their cases are related — causing them to team up once again, albeit reluctantly. You know, the classic sibling rivalry.

Enola Holmes 2 also stars Susan Wokoma, who reprises her role as Edith, the historical British martial artist who taught Eudoriamartial arts. New joinees to the cast include David Thewlis (Wonder Woman), who is portrayed in the trailer as a rich connoisseur of sorts, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune).
