Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G Design Leaked via Hands-on Images; Dimensity 8200 Ultimate SoC Tipped

Tecno is working on the Camon 30 series as a successor to the Camon 20 lineup. The upcoming lineup is expected to include multiple models including the Tecno Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Pro 5G, and Camon 30 Premier 5G. Ahead of any official announcement, alleged hands-on images and specifications of Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G have popped up online. The renders show a green colour variant of the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G. It is tipped to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate SoC.

Tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz) posted alleged live images and specifications of the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G on X. The renders show the device in a green finish. It appears to have a circular-shaped camera island on the rear with multiple sensors. The physical buttons are all located on the left-hand side of the handset. There is a centrally located hole-punch cutout on the display as well.

As per the tipster, the Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G will run on MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate SoC. It is said to come in 12GB + 512GB and 12GB + 256GB RAM and storage options. The handset is tipped to feature a 100-megapixel primary rear camera and a 50-megapixel selfie camera. Tecno could pack a 5,000mAh battery on the upcoming phone with 66W charging support.

The Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G is expected to come with upgrades over last year’s Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G that debuted with an initial price tag of Rs. 19,999.

Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It runs on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC and has a triple rear camera unit, comprising a 64-megapixel RGBW primary camera. The handset also packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging.

Tecno Camon 20 series — comprising the Tecno Camon 20 and Camon 20 Pro 5G — will be launched in India on May 27. The company has revealed the specifications and features of both handsets, days ahead of their debut in the country. The Tecno Camon 20 series will be powered by MediaTek chipsets paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Both phones feature a triple rear camera setup, led by a 64-megapixel primary camera. They pack 5,000mAh batteries with support for 33W fast charging.

Both the Tecno Camon 20 and Camon 20 Pro 5G have been listed on the company’s website, revealing the specifications of the handsets. The listings do not mention the price of Tecno’s upcoming smartphones, which were launched in global markets alongside the Tecno Camon 20 5G Premier — the company is yet to officially announce plans to launch this handset in India.

The upcoming Tecno Camon 20 and Camon 20 Pro 5G will sport a 6.67-inch full-HD+ AMOLED screen and the display of the Pro model will have a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Tecno Camon 20 is powered by a 12nm MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, while the Camon 20 Pro 5G runs on a 6nm Dimensity 8050 chipset from MediaTek. Both phones are equipped with 8GB of RAM. 

For photos and videos, the Tecno Camon 20 and Camon 20 Pro 5G will feature a triple camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary camera. The former will be equipped with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a QVGA tertiary camera. Meanwhile, the Pro model will have a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video chats, both phones will sport a 32-megapixel front facing camera.

Both phones will feature 256GB of onboard storage. The Tecno Camon 20 and Camon 20 Pro 5G pack 5,000mAh batteries with support for 33W wired charging. However, the Tecno Camon 20 will ship with an 18W charger in the box, which Tecno claims can charge the phone to 32 percent in 30 minutes.

Tecno Camon 20 Series India Launch Date Confirmed for May 27; Specifications Teased

Tecno Camon 20 with MediaTek Helio G85 SoC was unveiled in Nigeria in the  first week of May alongside the Camon 20 Pro and Camon 20 Pro 5G smartphones. Now, the brand owned by China’s Transsion Holdings is all set to launch the Tecno Camon 20 series in the Indian market. The lineup is confirmed to come with photography-focused features that comprise Sensor-shift technology, RGBW Pro, and Portrait Master. The regular Tecno Camon 20 has MediaTek Helio G85 SoC under the hood, while the Camon 20 Pro 5G and Camon 20 Pro are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8050 SoC and MediaTek Helio G99 SoC respectively.

Tecno, on Monday, announced the official launch date of the Tecno Camon 20 series in India via Twitter. The photography-focused smartphones are scheduled to launch in the country on May 27. The pre-booking for smartphones has started through retail partners. However, price details and specifications of the Indian variants of the Tecno Camon 20 series smartphones are unknown at this moment.

Additionally, a dedicated microsite on the company’s India website is teasing the specifications of the handsets ahead of launch. The Indian variants of the Tecno Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro, and Camon 20 Pro 5G are teased to pack a 6.67-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. They are confirmed to come with a 64-megapixel RGBW main sensor and a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. They will carry up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.

Tecno will equip the handsets with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. However, the bundled charger will only support up to 18W fast charging.

Tecno Camon 20 specifications

The Tecno Camon 20 was launched in Nigeria in Glacier Glow, Predawn Black, and Serenity Blue colour options. It runs on Andorid 13 and features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1,080×2,400 pixels resolution. It packs an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The onboard RAM can be expanded virtually up to 16GB as well.

Tecno’s Camon 20 series has a triple rear camera setup, coupled with quad flash. The camera unit of the vanilla Tecno Camon 20 includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel secondary camera, and an AI sensor. For selfies, it has a 32-megapixel sensor at the front. A 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging is available on the phone.

The Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G has MediaTek’s new Dimensity 8050 SoC under the hood, while the Tecno Camon 20 Pro gets a 6nm Helio G99 SoC. All three phones feature 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
