For Bill Belichick, Cleveland was once home. It’s where he got his first head coaching job way back in 1991, however, quite a bit has changed over the past 31 years.
He’s guided New England to glory, while the Browns have spent the majority of the past three decades in the cellar of their division. With a lethal backfield duo and some defensive star power, hope is slowly starting to trickle back into Cleveland, though, and a win on Sunday against the franchise’s former coach can only strengthen spirits.

If there’s one thing Belichick has learned in all his years of coaching, it’s how to limit the strongest facet of an opposing team’s offense.
The rushing attack is the most potent element of the Browns’ unit, so expect Belichick and the Patriots’ defense to make life as uncomfortable as possible for Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. That’ll force Cleveland to put more responsibility in quarterback Jacoby Brissett’s hands, and it’s hard to imagine he’s up for that challenge.
New England is familiar with Brissett considering it drafted him back in 2019, and while he’s been serviceable, he hasn’t necessarily been the driving force in either of the Browns’ two wins this season.
Cleveland is also 2-6 against the spread in its last eight home games, so the Patriots should be in prime position to keep it close — or even win outright — come Sunday.

When Cleveland isn’t running the ball, chances are it’s looking to get the ball to Cooper through the air.
Cooper has received 43 of the team’s 155 targets this season (27.8 percent), including six in the red zone. Of those six looks, he’s caught three of them for touchdowns and is now set to face a New England defense that allows opponents to find the end zone 56.3 percent of the time they get inside the 20.
Assuming the Patriots make their primary focus containing Chubb and Hunt in the backfield, Cooper undoubtedly becomes the No. 1 option in the offense.
He’s been on the field for over 83 percent of the Browns’ plays this season, so get ready for him to carry an extended role on Sunday if Cleveland wants to have any chance of staying in the game.

Alabama vs. Tennessee picks and analysis
The Crimson Tide are hoping quarterback Bryce Young’s throwing shoulder will heal enough for him to play, while the Volunteers’ upset chances will increase substantially if he misses a second straight game.
Tennessee to cover +7
Alabama (6-0, 3-0 SEC) is a different team without Young as redshirt freshman Jalen Milroe isn’t a sufficient passing threat. Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said Milroe played with a lot of anxiety in last week’s 24-20 win over Texas A&M, so it’s hard to see him calmer this week if he plays.
Young, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, has passed for 1,202 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions. His presence would bring confidence to the Alabama offense as well as big-time production.
The Crimson Tide have gone run-heavy without Young by gaining 317 against Arkansas on Oct. 1 and 293 versus Texas A&M. That would again be the plan against Tennessee if Young is unable to play.
The Volunteers would benefit greatly if Young can’t play as his absence would pump up their upset chances.

Over 65 points
Tennessee (5-0, 2-0) has already beaten three ranked teams this season and is 5-0 for the first time since 2016. The Volunteers have 500-plus yards of offense in four of their five games.
Quarterback Hendon Hooker has gone a program-record 239 passes without an interception and has completed 70 percent of his passes for 1,432 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He has been a difference-maker for a club that ranks second nationally in scoring offense (46.8 points per game) and leads the nation in total offense (547.8 yards per outing).
Alabama’s defense ranks sixth in both scoring defense (12.5) and total defense (250.8) as it looks to slow down the Vols. Tennessee also had a big game on the ground last weekend with a season-best 263 rushing yards in a 40-13 trouncing of host LSU.
The Crimson Tide are fifth in scoring offense (44.3) and seventh in total offense (503.7) while Tennessee is a big shaky with a ranking of 87th in total defense (396.6) despite being 22nd in scoring defense (17.8).

Jahmyr Gibbs over 109.5 rushing yards
Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs is averaging 8.3 yards per carry while rushing for 532 yards and two touchdowns. He has been especially potent the last two games with 360 yards on 39 carries.
If Young misses the game, you can expect Gibbs to get another heavy workload with part of the goal being to keep the Tennessee offense off the field. The cautionary part is he had 36 or fewer yards in three straight games before breaking out pick.
But taking the pressure off Milroe will be crucial for the Crimson Tide so we see Gibbs continuing his recent production.

In this instance, you would need to wager $40 on the Jets and $60 on the Bills to guarantee a profit of $20, with these bets needing to be placed with different bookies in order to succeed.
While $20 profit may not seem a lot, with “dutching,” you are guaranteed to win no matter the result of the game/market you’re betting on, as you are covering both outcomes.
Dutching involves adjusting the amount you bet depending on the odds to ensure that you win the same amount of money no matter which bet wins.
Despite requiring a little more time and effort, it is definitely worth looking more into dutching as a betting method.
Hedge Betting
Hedge betting is fairly similar to “dutching” in the way that you are betting on multiple markets on the same event to ensure a profit.
However with hedge betting, you are betting against a bet you’ve already placed previously once the odds for the other side of the betting have changed.
For example, if you bet on NYCFC to beat DC United at +100 before the game, and then NYCFC take a 2-0 lead, the idea is to then bet the correct stake on DC United at their increased odds to lock in a profit.
This way, if DC United came back to win, the bet you placed when they were losing 2-0 would win, whilst your original bet on NYCFC would lose.
Hedge betting also works for parlay betting as well as individual bets. If you have a five-leg parlay bet that has seen the first four legs win, you can hedge your bets against the team/player you need to win for the parlay bet to be successful in order to guarantee a profit.

Denver is averaging just 14.3 points per game as new coach Nathaniel Hackett’s system isn’t cranking, while Josh McDaniels of the Raiders already is under scrutiny for the team’s poor start.

So there’s a lot to weigh when it comes to the Raiders playing one of their most hated rivals. Is Derek Carr (850 passing yards) and Las Vegas about to break out of its doldrums with a stellar performance or are the Raiders destined to continue their underachieving nature?

Wilson passed for 184 yards in last Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers in the second-ever 11-10 final score in NFL history. Melvin Gordon’s 1-yard run with 4:10 left was Denver’s lone touchdown.
It may take more time for Wilson to get moving, but the shaky Las Vegas ranks 24th in scoring defense (25.7) and 26th in passing defense (267.0).
Still, Denver is having trouble scoring, so we feel this contest will go under the projection.

Adams’ reunion with former Fresno State teammate Carr looked like it would be filled with happy times after he caught 10 passes for 141 yards in his Las Vegas debut. But the last two games have seen him catch 12 and 36 yards worth of passes — not what you expect from someone with a $141 million contract.
Adams has an over/under of 76.5 yards, which seems like something he can reach. Denver is middling (18th at 230.3 yards per game) in pass defense, but the inability of Carr to get Adams the ball in back-to-back weeks is definitely concerning.

Vikings vs Saints picks and analysis
The Vikings’ offense has been somewhat inconsistent, especially with Dalvin Cook (shoulder) ailing. But they are clicking better than the Saints’ offense, which has been plagued by turnovers, penalties and injuries. New Orleans banks on defense, keeping it in the game, but producing points is another matter.

Comparable personnel might imply an even matchup, but the Vikings have an important advantage in that they generally have made the plays necessary to win. They showed that last week in their comebacks against the Lions.
The Saints have been making way too many mistakes. They’re last in the NFL in committing turnovers, something that has contributed significantly to their two losses, and they are among the most-penalized teams in the NFL.
The Vikings will make fewer mistakes and be fresh after a later-than-usual arrival to London.
The Saints have generated minimal offense except when they have desperately tried to catch up in the fourth quarter. They have scored 38 of their 51 points in the fourth quarter, which produced a come-from-behind win against the Falcons but has fallen short the last two weeks.
They have been unable to establish a consistent running game and top running back Alvin Kamara is slowed by a rib injury. The pass protection has generally been poor, leaving Jameis Winston with little time to go through progressions.
The top two wide receivers – Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) – were injured in last week’s game, and it is uncertain whether either or both will be available this week. Rookie Chris Olave had nine catches for 147 yards last week and might have to be the go-to guy again this week.

US Open predictions: Carlos Alcaraz vs. Marin Cilic
While Nadal takes on American Frances Tiafoe on Monday afternoon, Alcaraz is set to lock horns with 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic. The 20-year-old wunderkind is a -550 favorite over the Croatian, who comes into the Round of 16 having dropped just one set (in a tie-breaker to Dan Evans) in the tournament so far.
Cilic is something of an anomaly to handicap, as he does seem to find a new level when he plays in the biggest tournaments. The 33-year-old has made 14 quarterfinals, six semi-finals and three finals in his Grand Slam career, with his lone win coming at this event eight years ago. A shot-maker with a great serve, Cilic can be unplayable if everything is working right, but that’s not something you can count on at this stage of his career — especially against a physical phenom like Alcaraz.
Already one of the best players in the world at 20 years of age, Alcaraz’s ability to defend and extend rallies should prove vital against Cilic, who often relies on his serve to get himself out of jams. If Alcaraz is on, Cilic’s powerful serve won’t be a get-out-of-jail card like it is against other players.

You don’t have to go that far back to see how a matchup between these two very different tennis players can look like. Alcaraz made relatively light work of Cilic in the Round of 16 at the Cincinnati Masters, winning 7-6, 6-1 in a match that Alcaraz grew into as it went on.
A similar pattern could play out on Monday night as Alcaraz’s ability to defend against the serve and keep rallies going should tire out the Croatian as we get into the deep part of the match. That should allow Alcaraz to score a dominant set or two to get the separation needed to cover a 6.5-game spread.
