As per the leaked specifications sheet, all three models — the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The base and Plus phones are said to get Aluminium Armor 2.0 bodies, while the Ultra model is expected to come with a Titanium frame. All the handsets are also expected to support 8K quality video recording.

The base Samsung Galaxy S24 is said to come with a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X full-HD+ panel, while the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra may sport 6.7-inch and 6.8-inch displays, respectively, with Dynamic AMOLED 2X quad-HD+ resolution. All the models are expected to support a peak brightness level of 2,600 nits.

Samsung is expected to pack a 4,000mAh battery into the base Galaxy S24 model, while the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra are likely to pack 4,900mAh and 5,000mAh batteries, respectively. The phones are said to be offered in black, grey, violet, and yellow colour options. The vanilla model is said to come with 8GB of RAM and be available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants. A previous leak suggested that the top-of-the-line Galaxy S24 Ultra model is expected to be equipped with an AI-powered feature which is said to help users erase subjects from videos. The artificial intelligence support is also likely to boost low-light performance, lower graininess, and enhance stability and exposure of video recordings.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to be one of the biggest launches of 2024. As the South Korean brand gears up for the supposed release of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra in January, new rumours surrounding the phone’s colour options, RAM, and storage details have emerged online. The Galaxy S24 Ultra and Galaxy S24+ are said to come in a single 12GB RAM option. The former could pack up to 512GB of onboard storage, while the Ultra model might include up to 1TB of storage.

Tipster Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) posted the RAM, storage, and colour options of the Galaxy S24 series.  As per the tipster, the Galaxy S24 will debut in 8GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variants. The Galaxy S24+ is tipped to be available in 12GB RAM + 256GB and 12GB RAM + 512GB storage versions.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to debut in 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 12GB RAM + 1TB storage options. All three models are said to come in black, grey, violet, and yellow colour options.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Could Ditch 10x Telephoto Camera to Ship With a 5x Zoom Level Sensor

Samsung Galaxy S24 series comprising vanilla Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra models are expected to go official early next year. Samsung hasn’t revealed any details regarding the Galaxy S23 series successors, however, the leaks have been in plenty. Most recently, a tipster claims that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will ditch the 10x zoom lens and replace it with a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. This would be a potential downgrade from the zoom capabilities compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Known tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) on X claims that Samsung will revamp the telephoto camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. As per the post, the upcoming flagship handset will feature a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 1/2.52-inch size, 0.7μm pixels and 5x optical zoom. The device is also said to include a 10-megapixel sensor with 3x optical zooming capability.

The tipster states that this would give the Galaxy S24 Ultra a weaker telephoto camera performance than the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The latter has two 50-megapixel sensors with 1/2.52-inch size 0.7μm pixel for telephoto and periscope lenses with 3x and 5x optical zoom.

If this rumour turns out to be true, Galaxy S24 Ultra’s zoom capabilities will be similar to the newly released iPhone 15 Pro Max. This would be a possible downgrade from the camera features available on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S22 Ultra, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The Galaxy S23 Ultra packs a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor with support for 10x optical zooming.

Samsung is anticipated to release next-generation non-foldable Galaxy S series flagships in early 2024. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is tipped to run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in most markets, while the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are expected to be launched with the company’s in-house Exynos 2400 SoC in select markets. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to come in 12GB RAM + 256GB and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configurations. It might include a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP2SX primary camera and is expected to get titanium frames as well.
