Who doesn’t love a fashion person who walks the line between living in New York and Paris? Xenia Adonts is a fashion influencer and icon who strikes the perfect balance between her love for both cities. While many people think she lives in Europe due to her constant travel schedule, she actually calls New York City home and visits her Paris apartment often. With her unique sense of style that we consider to be a mix of Scandi girl and Blair Waldorf, Adonts has captured the admiration of style enthusiasts and brands in any continent, proving that style knows no international borders. We sat down with her to discuss her brand Attire and the wardrobe staples she can wear in any city.

Tell us about Attire.

I started the brand at the end of 2019 after receiving a lot of offers to co-design for other brands. I wanted to really give my input, and they never gave me the freedom to pick the fabric that I would like to use or  the right factory, and it always rubbed me the wrong way. I always blew off these collaborations, and one day, I decided to just start my own brand. 

I want to improve how clothing is made. I want to be conscious about the fabrics we use. It was really important to have zero polyester because I realized that even recycled polyester is not good. 

When I started, I thought that people are much more into sustainability and transparency. The reality is it’s still a long journey, but we’re focused on maintaining our values—quality, sustainability, transparency.

What was the first piece that you designed for the collection that you felt strongly about?

I never designed. I’ve always been the creative director, which is important for me to point out. Our first hit was our trench coat that we launched in 2021, and up to this day, it’s still a best seller. I just knew I wanted an oversize trench coat that I could throw over anything. I knew which details I wanted, and that was our first big item.

How have your travels inspired the work that you’ve done?

Travel is one of my biggest sources of inspiration. Every city has such a different personality in terms of fashion and the people you see in the streets. I’m always looking, and every city is so different. New York is so different from Paris. Paris is so different from Germany, but I get inspired by every city, so I take pieces from each of them.

You have apartments in New York and Paris. How does being bicontinental inspire what you buy?

Both cities are so different, yet they have something cosmopolitan that connects both, so there’s a branch throughout both. New York is a bit cooler, edgy, and modern in a way. Paris is more timeless. It’s more feminine. I take the best of both cities and try to make them into one.

Can you name five items we should shop if we want an outfit that looks good in New York and Paris?

The fabric is so strong. It almost has a silky vibe to it. It’s also an item that gives you a lot of space, so you have a lot of freedom to move. You can layer it with chunky knits, but it’s a cool oversize piece when you just wear a minidress.

I love freedom. It’s one of my core values, so I love a blazer that’s not restricting. I want the freedom of movement, so I added space in the shoulder area to ours.

I have to mention boyfriend jeans because they always look effortlessly stylish. They are also super comfortable for running around big cities.

When it comes to fall, the climate is pretty similar in both cities. A structured coat quickly becomes an easy choice for colder days!

I absolutely live in my chunky cardigan this time of year. It’s great for that cozy fall vibe and can be worn both inside and outside.

Bharatmeta, Indian Metaverse Platform by Kiya.AI Showcased at Tech Event in Paris

India could soon be a leading player in the metaverse technology. In a first of its kind, India-based Kiya.ai, which is into Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technology-based solutions services, showcased its version of the metaverse called Bharatmeta at the ongoing VivaTech event in Paris 2023. The Bharatmeta has been showcased at the India Pavilion. VivaTech is Europe’s biggest annual technology and startup event.

Talking to ANI, Rajesh Mirjankar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kiya.ai, said that while global platforms largely provide gaming and virtual goods on the metaverse, his company is focused on the commerce of physical and virtual goods, enabling real businesses to adopt metaverse technology.

The metaverse is a multi-dimensional digital space that uses virtual reality and augmented reality to allow people to have lifelike experiences online.

He added Bharatmeta provides relevant use cases for banking, commerce, culture, and collaboration on the metaverse while leveraging India’s digital infrastructure for digital payments (including CBDC), digital identity, open commerce etc.

Earlier Kiya.ai celebrated Azadi Kaa Amrit Mahotsav with Har Ghar Tiranga on the virtual real estate on Bharatmeta. The virtual experience in Bharatmeta allows visitors to observe the Indian flag hoisted on a virtual monument.

“The idea behind Bharatmeta is that new technology should be inclusive rather than elitist, and hence it is designed to provide an immersive on multiple devices from XR headsets, laptops, mobile handsets, and kiosks so that the masses in both urban and rural areas are able to obtain the benefits of the Metaverse,” Mirjankar said.

With its 12 global offices, Kiya.ai serves over 550 enterprises in 56 countries across South-East Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and North America.

Further, about the Indian start-up ecosystem, Mirjankar said that the start-up ecosystem in India is blessed with the visionary ‘India stack’ – which can lower the cost of taking the innovations to market and evolving different business models for the start-ups and its customers.

“These digital public goods when leveraged by global economies will provide new markets for Indian start-ups,” he opined.

‘High School Musical’ cast reunites in Paris

What time is it? Reunion time!

The cast of Disney’s “High School Musical” reunited Saturday in Paris and shared a heartwarming photo on Instagram of most of the main stars, reports Insider.

According to Instagram, the Wildcat reunion took place while the stars were attending “Back to the Musical World 2,” a convention of about the “universe of Kenny Ortega,” according to the website.

The photo — which was posted by Ortega — features Lucas Grabeel, Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, and Bart Johnson who played Ryan, Gabriella, Chad, and Coach Bolton, respectively.

“Back with my Wildcat family,” read the caption along with the hashtag “#hsmforever.”

Also featured in the photo was Drew Seeley — who provided the singing voice for Troy Bolton.

“Like no time has passed,” read Seeley’s Instagram.

“High School Musical” fans went wild.

Owner of car Princess Diana died in wants the vehicle back

It’s been 25 years since Princess Diana perished in car crash in Paris, changing the trajectory of the royal family forever.

Etoile Limousines owner Jean-Francois Musa was the proprietor of the vehicle that the Princess of Wales died in, alongside Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul, on Aug. 31, 1997.

Musa, 63, is now claiming that French authorities have not allowed him to take back his missing Mercedes-Benz S280.

“It’s legally mine — [but] I have no idea where the car is,” he told the Mirror. “All I know is it is legally mine and obviously I want it back. It should have been returned by now but that hasn’t proved possible. I always owned it outright. It wasn’t subject to any financing.”

While Musa has stated that he wants the wreckage — which experts said could be worth more than $10 million — to be put in an American museum to commemorate the beloved people’s princess, he alleged that the royal family would prefer the automobile to be trashed secretly.

It was reported in 2017 that the car was held in a police impound lot in a shipping container in Creteil — a city outside of Paris.

Conspiracy theories about Diana’s death have long plagued her memory, with many claiming her passing was not an accident.

“There was no plot,” Musa insisted. “This was a routine road accident – the kind all of us dread. It is all very sad.”

Lord Stevens, the former head of the Metropolitan Police, told Times of London recently that theories about the accident are more popular than ever this year, as it marks the 25th anniversary.

The 79-year-old had also led Operation Paget, which investigated the tragedy.

“She was so popular. People find it very difficult to understand how someone like that could die in such an accident,” he said.

He went on: “You will have certain people around who — whatever the evidence — will still think there is a conspiracy here. I think it is probably impossible [to persuade them otherwise].”

Musa noted that the date Diana passed was such “a sad day.”

A new Discovery+ docuseries, “The Diana Investigations,” reported that Princess Diana predicted she would die two years prior to the accident.

The new investigation revealed that Princess Diana told her lawyer, Victor Mischon, in 1995 that efforts to “get rid” of her would be attempted in the following year — citing a car accident as one of the possible means.

While Diana claimed “reliable sources” granted her the information, she was tight-lipped about their true identity, as documented in a letter penned by Mischon.

Dubbed the “Mischon Note,” the conversation provided eerie insight into what could have led to that fateful night, Aug. 31, 1997, when her driver Henri Paul crashed inside Paris’ Pont de l’Alma tunnel.

With a concoction of prescription drugs and alcohol in his system, and speeding at 65 mph, Paul attempted to ditch paparazzi on motorbikes, and instead sent the Mercedes carrying Princess Diana and her partner Dodi Al-Fayed into a pillar.

Following the crash, Mischon gave the note to Sir Paul Condon, the Metropolitan Police commissioner at the time, but a formal inquiry into the princess’ death didn’t begin until Jan. 6, 2004.

Called Operation Paget, the then-Metropolitan Police Commissioner John Stevens launched the investigation, unearthing the startling note from a safe kept by Condon.

Stevens interviewed Mischon prior to the attorney’s death in 2005, confirming that Mischon “hadn’t held much credence” to the princess’ concerns. In fact, he thought “she was paranoid.”
