OnePlus Pad 2 Chipset Deatils Leaked; Tipped to Come With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

OnePlus Pad 2 may hit the markets later this year. Although the tablet has yet to be confirmed by the company and we have no official details, the purported OnePlus Pad 2 has started doing the rounds of the rumour mill. An earlier leak suggested the launch timeline of the upcoming model. Now, a new leak has hinted at the chipset details of the tablet.

Tipster Max Jambor (@MaxJmb) shared in a new post on X (formerly Twitter) that the OnePlus Pad 2 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. This processor is used in several flagship-level smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, OnePlus 12, iQoo 12 and more. The chipset is expected to give way to considerable upgrades to the tablet over the current model.

Previously, the same tipster suggested that the OnePlus Pad 2 could launch in the second half of 2024, that is, sometime between July and December this year. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 is expected to be unveiled around July this year, following precedence of the Galaxy Tab S9 series, which was introduced in July 2023. The OnePlus Pad 2 may launch on the heels of the Galaxy Tab S10, as a likely competitor.

Notably, the OnePlus Pad started in India at Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB + 128GB option, while the 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at Rs. 39,999. It is offered in a sole Halo Green colour option.

The OnePlus Pad comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, a 9,510mAh battery with 67W wired SuperVOOC charging support, an 11.61-inch 144Hz display with a 2,800 x 2,000 pixels resolution, a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. It runs Android 13-based OxygenOS 13.1 out-of-the-box.

Oppo, OnePlus Collaborate With Google to Utilise Gemini AI Capabilities for Their Devices

Oppo and OnePlus have joined hands with Google to utilise its artificial intelligence (AI) model Gemini’s capabilities in their devices. Under the partnership, the Chinese smartphone brands will get to leverage the Gemini models to introduce new AI features. Notably, Oppo already has its own native large language model dubbed AndesGPT, through which it has released multiple AI features in its devices in China. Recently, the brand announced that the Reno 11 series will get the AI Eraser feature globally.

The announcement was made during the tech giant’s annual Google Cloud Next event, where Nicole Zhang, General Manager of AI Product for OPPO and OnePlus, said, “Generative AI is a transformative technology, and I’m confident that OPPO and OnePlus are excellently positioned to deliver its benefits to users globally. Through our collaboration with Google to integrate both Gemini and Google Cloud AI into smartphones, and by forging partnerships with other industry leaders for diverse AI experiences, we’re excited to significantly expand the realm of mobile AI innovations.”

Zhang also stated that both smartphone brands are planning to introduce more than 100 AI-generated content experiences for its users. AI-generated content experiences likely mean AI-based features that incorporate content in one way or another. Some examples of these features could be the Call Summary generator and the AI image generator. Notably, Oppo has introduced both of these features in China.

It appears that the collaboration with Google will be for Oppo and OnePlus users outside China. While the details of the collaboration are not known at this point, it could pave a path for the companies to bring Google-specific AI features to their smartphones such as Portrait light and lock-screen song identification. In a statement, the brands said some of the under-development features include summarising news articles, summarising audio, and generating new social media content.

Interestingly, the move coincides with Oppo’s recent announcement of bringing the AI Eraser feature to the Reno 11 series smartphones worldwide. The AI Eraser is a photo editing tool which can be found within the in-built gallery app. Once a user circles any object in the background, the AI processes and removes it, while restoring the background elements.

It is said to feature a metal middle frame and a glass build.

OnePlus Buds V was unveiled in China on Thursday, March 21 alongside the OnePlus Ace 3V. The true wireless earphones carry dual 12.4mm drivers and offer three custom preset sound modes. The earphones also come with an AI-backed noise cancellation feature that is said to help users experience clearer calls. OnePlus Nord CE 4 to Offer 100W SuperVOOC Charging; Spotted on Geekbench

OnePlus Nord CE 4 is confirmed to launch in India on April 1. Just weeks ahead of the official launch, OnePlus has disclosed more details about the upcoming Nord series phone. The OnePlus Nord CE 4 is teased to come with SuperVOOC fast charging support. It is already confirmed to run on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Additionally, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 has surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking site with model number CPH2613.

Through a dedicated landing page on the OnePlus India website, the company is teasing the specifications of the OnePlus Nord CE 4. It is confirmed to come with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging support. A charging time of 15 minutes is claimed to offer a day’s battery life. This would be an upgrade over the OnePlus Nord CE 3 5G’s 80W SuperVOOC charging.

Meanwhile, a OnePlus handset has been spotted on the Geekbench website with the model number CPH2613. The listing dated March 17 could be that of the OnePlus Nord CE 4. It scored 1,135 points in single-core testing and 3,037 points in multi-core testing. As per the listing, the handset will run on Android 14 operating system.

The Geekbench listing also shows the octa-core Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC on the OnePlus Nord CE 4. The chipset has a prime CPU score of 2.63GHz, three cores capped at 2.40GHz, and four cores at 1.80GHz.

OnePlus Nord CE 4 launch will take place in India on April 1 at 6:30pm IST. It is confirmed to go on sale via Amazon.

Now, OnePlus has finally announced the date and revealed the handset’s design. The smartphone is set to launch in two colour options and a revamped design over the preceding OnePlus Ace 2V. Earlier leaks and reports have suggested several key specifications of the OnePlus Ace 3V. It has also been tipped to launch outside China as a OnePlus Nord model.

OnePlus has affirmed via Weibo posts and banners on the official China website that the OnePlus Ace 3V will be unveiled in China on March 21 at 7pm Beijing time (4:30pm IST). The company teased that the phone will be backed by AI features and will offer a long battery life. In other posts on Weibo, the design and colour options of the handset have also been revealed.

The OnePlus Ace 3V is seen in two colour options – Magic Purple Silver and Titanium Grey. Both models appear with glossy glass finishes.
