Whether you’re looking to upgrade your old AirPods or finally want to splurge on the popular earbuds, there is no time like the present!

For more details on all the new Apple AirPods Pro, keep reading.

Amazon

While the first generation and second generation look fairly similar, the upgrades on the newly launched model are worth raving over.

Transparency mode actually works

When you’re not in noise-cancellation mode, you can opt for what Apple calls “transparency mode” — when you press and hold the stem of your AirPods and sound escapes. This gives you the option to listen to audio without being completely blocked out from the world.

While using the first generation transparency mode, it was sometimes too good and would still block out sound — making you take out one earbud when you wanted to talk with someone. With the new generation Pros you can use transparency mode and have clear conversations without messing with your headphones.

Noise cancellation is even better

According to Apple, the new-generation AirPods Pro deliver up to double the noise cancellation thanks to the H2 chip. Whats even cooler about this model is that you can even view noise level reduction in real time.

Control the volume directly

The second generation allows touch control which gives you the opportunity to raise or lower the volume of your audio simply by swiping up or down on the stem of your AirPods.

Convenient charging and better battery life

If you’re an Apple Watch user, we’ve got great news for you. The second generation AirPods Pro has a MagSafe charging case, allowing you to charge your earbuds on your Apple Watch charger or the regular charging cable. Talk about convenience!

Plus, the battery life has improved by 33% compared to the first generation Apple AirPods Pro and gets you 30 hours of total listening time with active noise cancellation is on. That’s six more hours than you’d be getting with the new generation!

Say goodbye to lost AirPods

The best part about the new generation might be the fact that you can now track your earbuds using the Find My app. With the new U1 chip, you can see the exact location of where you last left your AirPods. Pretty nifty if you ask us.

new AirPods case also comes with a new U1 chip, so you can use the Find My app to see the exact location of where you last left your AirPods.

Audio quality is better than ever before

Apple is offering even smaller ear tips, making it nearly impossible for them to fall out. Plus, the brand created a new feature called “personalized spatial audio.” Take advantage of this by using your iPhone’s front-facing camera, so your phone can remember the size of your ears and help ensure the sounds you’re hearing are tailored to your individual ear size.

Spatial audio gives you a three-dimensional listening experience from music, TV shows, movies, podcasts and more — immersing you in sounds from every direction. The idea is to give the user a theater-like experience so you can feel like you’re in your very own concert hall.

Taylor Swift’s cryptic reveal about upcoming ‘Midnights’ album

The countdown to “Midnights” continues.

Fresh off of being honored as Songwriter-Artist of the Decade at the Nashville Songwriter Awards on Tuesday night, Taylor Swift revealed the first song title from her much-anticipated 10th studio album — due Oct. 21 — in a TikTok video posted, naturally, at the stroke of midnight.

Having previously only revealed that there were 13 tracks on “Midnights,” the 11-time Grammy winner debuted “Midnights Mayhem with Me” as a way to roll out the song titles with a lottery-style cage containing balls marked 1 through 13.

“I know I have a habit of dropping cryptic clues and easter eggs when giving you information about new music, and I’m not here to deny that — I’m here to defy that,” she says. “Welcome to a series I’m calling ‘Midnights Mayhem with Me.’ I am going to be using this technologically-advanced device to help me allow fate to decide exactly what tracks titles I’m going to be announcing and in what order.”

The 32-year-old singer-songwriter then draws the first ball from the cage, and it just so happens to be for Track 13 — which any good Swiftie knows is Tay Tay’s lucky number.

“The first track I’m going to tell you about is Track 13, because of course,” says Swift, who then picks up a red phone and reveals that “Track 13 is called ‘Mastermind.’ ”

And that title tease is all that eager fans get for now, as they will need to calm down and wait for what will presumably be 12 more videos —  which are sure to be dropped at midnight — before getting the full track listing for “Midnights.”

But Swift wasn’t playing it so coy when she accepted her Songwriter-Artist of the Decade honor at the Nashville Songwriter Awards, which took place at Music City’s Ryman Auditorium on Tuesday night.

Taylor Swift first announced the upcoming release of her “Midnights” album during her Video of the Year acceptance speech at the VMAs last month.

“Writing songs is a calling, and getting to call it your career makes you very lucky,” said Swift, who of course got her start in Nashville as a country artist. “You have to be grateful every day for it — and [for] all the people who thought your words might be worth listening to. This town is the school that taught me that.”

Swift — who got her own songwriter page on Spotify earlier this week — then sang the 10-minute version of “All Too Well” that won her a record third Video of the Year trophy at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. And it was during her acceptance speech that the superstar first announced the upcoming release of “Midnights.”

How the icon rocketed to legend status

When it comes to living legends, there is no one that stands quite as tall and rockets to the forefront of our hearts and minds quite like as Elton John.

The iconic singer has brought brilliant talent and artistry to the globe for decades and continues to do so with his farewell tour and new music. The rocketman has had a whirlwind life, ruling his domain of the world like an emperor.

With a past filled with celebrity friends and feuds, wild parties of rock and roll, to health challenges and finally settling into sobriety and family life, John, 75, has lived a very full and fascinating journey.

He’s even been able to rally fellow pop stars like Britney Spears back to the world of music with their newest release “Hold Me Closer.”

So what makes him such a powerhouse? Was he meant to become one of the greatest musicians of all time? What lies ahead for his legacy? Join me as we dive into his stars because I’m a pop culture astrologer and I can see it all.

Elton John is a fiery Aries Sun.

Elton John’s birth chart shows he was always meant to be a prolific muse

Elton John was born on March 25, 1947. This makes him a fiery Aries Sun with a grounded Taurus Moon. His birth time hasn’t been confirmed anywhere online, so until I have the honor of crossing paths with him someday (I can only hope, get at me!), we’ll instead focus on what we do, in fact, know. When it comes to elemental energy, John is heavily composed of Fire and Air. This should come as no surprise because he is tremendously passionate and charismatic as well as a profound communicator. These traits tend to appear when someone has a lot of these elemental energies.

When it comes to astrological aspects that run through his chart, there are a few different themes. First and most importantly, John is a revolutionary. Several planetary interactions emphasize this repeatedly. First, his Mars, the planet of drive, links to Uranus, the planet of the future. This makes him original, eccentric and a strong nonconformist. He is visionary and energetic in outlook, unafraid to be rebellious and go against the status quo in the pursuit of his goals.

He is a courageous, pioneering free spirit whose mission in life is to bring new ideas into being. His Neptune, the planet of imagination, is united with his Midheaven, bringing him tremendous success in a musical and artistic career. Uranus also dances with his Midheaven, too, making him a uniquely gifted individual, with both ambition and unconventional attitudes that have always held the power to change society at large. His Mercury, the planet of communication, is also united with Mars, bringing him an agile and aggressive mind, with an unending will to speak, connect and succeed.

The next major theme is that John is practically a divine channel of the muses. In a sense, this is because his birth chart heavily emphasizes his creative expression. I also can understand his indulgent and hedonistic past, too, because of how this overlays his chart, too. He’s extravagant and magnificent and is a creature of passion and pleasure. His Sun, ruling his life force, is opposite Neptune, amplifying his visionary magic tremendously. His Sun also spins with Jupiter, the planet of fortune and expansion, empowering him with divine luck, wealth and a larger than life personality.

No matter where he has gone, luck was always sure to follow. His Venus, the planet of art, prances with Jupiter, bringing him a regal and graceful energy and brilliance in creativity. Venus links to Uranus and his Midheaven, too, further empowering him with groundbreaking abilities to shock the globe. Last, as should come as no surprise, John was built for groundbreaking success.

Many planetary alignments speak of him as a leader. His Jupiter spins with Saturn, making him an excellent manager with the ambition and natural power to be honored and respected. He was meant to work within society at large. His Sun links to Pluto, bringing him a strong desire to be recognized and admired, and with his Sun also smiling upon Saturn, he has always possessed the concentration, focus and determination to put absolutely everything he has into his goals and accomplishments.

What are predictions for Elton John?

So what lies ahead for Mr. Elton John? Let’s take a peek! First and foremost, he is in an extremely important period of his life where wealth is going to be a key theme—and amassing even more. This is because Pluto and Saturn are drawing emphasis here. I would not be shocked to see him also utilizing his wealth in the coming decade to truly invest in social causes he truly believes in. He’s also drumming up plenty of inspiration in 2022 and will again beginning the summer of 2023—which will last until May 2024.

This is because Jupiter will sparkle and spin, casting hymns and love songs from his heart and mind. While I do think retirement is something that is on the docket, particularly because of the eclipses that are beginning to appear in 2023 and 2024, I still think he will always in a sense “be creating.” It’s moreso a lifestyle for him rather than just trying to capitalize on his sense of wealth—it’s actually more about the joy of doing so and the legacy of inspiration he is leaving behind. Towards the end of the decade, though, when Saturn moves into Aries over his Sun, he will feel a weakening.

This begins in 2026 till the end of the 2020s. This period of time will test him, but also give him an opportunity to reflect on the beauty he has built. I sure hope one day I get to sit with him over a meal and listen to his visionary perception of the world. You heard it here first.

VMAs 2022 best & worst performances, from Blackpink to Nicki Minaj

Perhaps the best performance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards — held for the second time at the Prudential Center on Sunday night — didn’t even take place on the VMAs stage. That was when Artist of the Year winner Bad Bunny had the audience hopping from his show at Yankee Stadium, whether they were concertgoers or viewers watching the awards all around the around.

But it was also a night that big winner Jack Harlow, who took home four VMAs, and Video Vanguard recipient Nicki Minaj were better at performing than they were at co-hosting. Meanwhile, Global Icon Award honorees Red Hot Chili Peppers led a rock resurgence that also featured Panic! At the Disco and Italian breakout band Maneskin.

Before MTV goes back to forgetting about music for another year, we look back on the best and worst performances of the 2022 VMAs.

Worst: Blackpink

Doing “Pink Venom” — from their upcoming second album “Born Pink,” due Sept. 16 — the K-pop girl group underwhelmed in their debut performance on a US awards show. It was bad enough that many in the audience — both in the Prudential Center and around the world watching — probably didn’t know the song, but the stiff, lifeless performance failed to establish the group as a live force to be reckoned with on the VMAs stage.

Best: Jack Harlow, Fergie and Lizzo

Fergie and Jack Harlow lend some (first) class to the VMAs.
MTV

Co-host Jack Harlow gets props for bring back Fergie from the musical oblivion — where exactly has she been? — after he generously sampled her 2007 hit “Glamorous” on his 2022 No. 1 hit “First Class.” Respect was due, and he gave it to a star much in need of some love. And then when you added Lizzo to the opening on “2 B Loved (Am I Ready),” well, we already know that Lizzo makes everything better.

Best: Nicki Minaj

It took almost an hour for co-host Nicki Minaj to show up to the VMAs stage. But when she did, the 39-year-old Queens MC made a show-stopping statement that proved why she — haters be damned — was worthy of this year’s Video Vanguard Award. A pink-haired Minaj owned the candy-coated set to the delight of her legion of Barbies in a medley that veered from her killer verse on Kanye West’s “Monster” to solo hits “Beez in the Trap,” “Moment 4 Life,” “Super Bass” and “Anaconda” that showcased her range of styles and flows. At the end of a mini-set that proved why she is one of the best female rappers of all time, she was even to be excused for some obvious lip-syncing during her current No. 1 hit “Super Freaky Girl.”

Worst: Eminem and Snoop Dogg

The King of Cannabis, Snoop Dogg, got Eminem “high” during the performance.

After seeing Em and Snoop rocking the Super Bowl halftime stage in February in real effing life, the whole metaverse performance of their new single “From the D 2 the LBC” was a major letdown. I mean, who wants virtual versions of these two rap legends — especially when the flesh-and-blood icons are actually in the house? The whole thing felt like a gimmicky, desperate attempt to make these aging rappers look relevant. But at least they redeemed themselves a bit at the end by appearing and performing all the way live.

Best: Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Chili Peppers got a humorous introduction from Cheech and Chong before they gave their Global Icon Award performance. But once the band took the stage, it was serious business as they put the M — music — back into MTV and the VMAs. From the moment they launched into their 2022 hit “Black Summer,” there was no doubt that the Chili Peppers were performing completely live. Imagine that? The pure joy of seeing badass bassist Flea and guitar god John Frusciante jamming together on stage almost made you think that you were watching the Grammys for a second. And the boundless energy that the Chili Peppers displayed — 22 years after they already won MTV’s Video Vanguard Award — as they returned to their rap-rock roots on “Can’t Stop” made you wonder just how many of this year’s acts would still be rocking the VMAs stage 37 years after their debut. I’m betting exactly none.

Follow the 2022 VMAs with our up-to-the-minute coverage:

Best: Bad Bunny

After his VMAs remote performance from Yankee Stadium, a triumphant Bad Bunny hoisted his trophy for Artist of the Year.
MTV

First Kane Brown became the first male country star to ever perform at the VMAs in a rousing performance of “Grand” from the Toyoya Stage that made Fort Lee, NJ look like Nashville. Then Puerto Rican sensation Bad Bunny one-upped him with a remote performance from Yankee Stadium on his second of two nights that were the hottest ticket in town. It had already been a big night for Latin artists, including performances by Anitta, and J Balvin and Ryan Castro. But a satin-suited Bad Bunny was the hottest of them all, delivering the kind of electric performance that beat just about any other one of the night. You could really feel the energy of the crowd rocking and rapping along with the reggaeton superstar to “Titi Me Pregunto.” And it was fitting that he was able to receive his Artist of the Year award — beating out Styles, who failed to do a remote performance from his own show at Madison Square Garden — in front of his adoring fans.

Britney teams up with Elton for first new music since 2016

It feels as if the whole world has been embracing Britney Spears since the #FreeBritney movement began in 2019.

And finally freed from the 13-year conservatorship that ended last November, the pop superstar is now getting some support from Elton John — a music legend who knows how it feels to be still standing after years of struggles — on “Hold Me Closer,” her first newly recorded single since 2016.

The cross-generational collaboration between 40-year-old Spears and the 75-year-old Rocket Man — which dropped from the dream-duet heavens on Friday morning — is a radical reworking of John’s 1971 classic “Tiny Dancer.” Indeed, it’s such an extreme makeover that they gave the song it’s own new name taken from the original’s chorus. All together now, “Hold me closer, tiny dancer!”

While “Tiny Dancer” was an epic ballad that took your inner ballerina pirouetting across the keys in a fanciful flight, “Hold Me Closer” goes twirling directly under the disco ball with some thumping beats but also a light airiness that captures some of the graceful beauty of the original.

Like John’s recent hit with Dua Lipa — “Cold Heart (Pnau remix),” which mashed up “Rocket Man” with a few of his other songs — “Hold Me Closer,” produced by Andrew Watt and Cirkut, also features elements of Elton’s “The One” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”

The cover of Britney Spears and Elton John’s new single “Hold Me Closer.”

And while their digitally altered voices sometimes blend into one another where you can hardly tell the difference, it’s great to hear the moments when Spears’ distinctive, much-missed chirp stands out.

And after the its initial futuristic electro-whirl, “Hold Me Closer” brings you back down to earth with John’s piano work at the end.

The beginnings of this collaboration go all the way back to 2015, when Spears professed her love for “Tiny Dancer” in a tweet. And now, after six long years away from music, this is hopefully just the start of the long-awaited Britney comeback.

Harry Styles takes it to the bedroom on ‘Harry’s House’

It’s called “Harry’s House,” but the much-anticipated new album by the hottest male pop star on the planet — that would be, duh, Harry Styles — plays more like “Harry’s Boudoir.”

Indeed, the sexy intimacy on Styles’ third solo album makes you feel like you’re peeking through the bedroom door as the former One Direction heartthrob is putting it down with his current flame, actress Olivia Wilde.

Yup, putting it down.

Owning all of the hip-swerving swagger that made “Watermelon Sugar” a No. 1 hit in 2020 and won Styles his first Grammy, the singer is a ball of falsetto friskiness at the beginning of “Harry House.”

“Green eyes, fried rice, I could cook an egg on you/Late night, game time, coffee on the stove/You’re sweet ice cream, but you could use a flake or two/Blue bubblegum twisted around your tongue,” coos Styles, grinding up agains a greasy bass line in his best falsetto at the beginning of the album opener “Music for a Sushi Restaurant.

Clearly, the trumpets aren’t the only things that are horny on this jazz-kissed come-on. And whatever’s on the menu, you’ll just be like, “I’ll have what he’s having.”

And Styles is having his way with you — and whoever you happen to be getting down with in any corner of your house  — on his sexiest album to date.

The very next track, “Late Night Talking,” is made for late-night grooving — perhaps of the horizontal variety — as Styles floats atop a groove reminiscent of Dua Lipa’s “Levitating.”

And if you thought there were jazz vibes on “Music for a Sushi Restaurant,” Styles even scats here. Yes, scats. And he pulls it off.

Although the title of the album is a reference to the Joni Mitchell song “Harry’s House/Centerpiece,” Steely Dan and, more recently, Jamiroquai (remember him?) are more like Styles’ muses on songs such as “Grapejuice,” a summer-ready romantic bop, and “Daydreaming,” a perfect soul-pop soufflé that adds a dash of the 5th Dimension into the mix.

Although the No. 1 single “As It Was” set the shimmying, shimmering stage for the album — with its ’80s pogo pop that has you breaking out your best Molly Ringwald moves — the second half of “Harry’s House” settles into dreamy, woozy balladry that will have you booing up — or getting on Tinder to find one.

Former One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles explores his side on “Harry’s House.”

When the album ends with “Love of My Live” — which couldn’t possibly be about anyone other than Wilde — Styles sounds positively smitten. Or better yet, love-stoned.

Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’s Shubhangi Atre on her low-key birthday: I don’t believe in the idea of showing off

Shubhangi Atre became a household name with her entry into the popular sitcom Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain. She plays the role of Angoogi in the show, and her character is widely liked by the audience. The actress rang on her birthday on 11th April. She did not do any celebrations for her special day and donated food to the poor people who were fasting for the holy month of Ramadan.

In an interview with ETimes TV, she shared about her birthday, “After the pandemic, many people are still struggling to meet the necessities. And my concern was that as the holy festival of Ramadan is going on, I wanted to distribute food to the needy and serve a proper meal to them when they break their fast. So I went forward with the idea. My daughter wanted me to host a party but later even she agreed with it. My fans and friends made my day special. I don’t believe in the idea of showing off.”

The actress is known for keeping her personal life very private. On being asked about the trend of actors getting papped, Shubhangi said, “With everything today has a price, getting papped has its own and is a trend among celebrities. But I’m not of those who likes to mix personal and professional life. I’m not one to keep my managers updated with my airport timing, gymming time or coffee time (laughs). I’m very easy to answer calls from the media and reply to their queries and even greet them while meeting outside. But I would never enjoy permitting them to make my lifestyle easy onscreen. I’m very much connected with my fans on social media and they are happy with it and respect my privacy. So being papped can be a trend among celebrities, but it is not my cup of tea.”
