Thunderbolts Cast: Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour Lead Lineup

Thunderbolts lineup is now official. At Disney’s D23 Expo 2022, Marvel Studios announced the lead cast of Thunderbolts, the upcoming Marvel movie that is set to close out Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thunderbolts will star Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker / US Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov / Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr / Ghost, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier. As you can tell, Thunderbolts is bringing together a bunch of anti-hero and villain characters, who are now working in one way or another for Louis-Dreyfus’ contessa, who we know has been assembling a team.

Marvel Studios also unveiled concept art for the Thunderbolts cast at D23 Expo, though that has yet to be released in high-resolution glory on any of Marvel’s official social media channels. In it, Yelena is front and centre, with her father-figure Alexei and the Winter Soldier flanking her, who in turn are flanked by Ghost and US Agent, with Valentina and Taskmaster at the very end. This is admittedly a very odd group — while some of them share a past or have previously encountered some of the others, a few have no relation. It’s going to be interesting to see how Thunderbolts brings together this motley crew, in what sounds like Marvel’s attempt to make its own Suicide Squad.

Here’s a quick refresher for those who need it (including yours truly). Valentina was introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where she made John Walker her first recruit and gave him the US Agent moniker. Yelena, introduced in Black Widow, would’ve been her first recruit were it not for the COVID-19 pandemic as the film was delayed. Yelena met Valentina in the Black Widow post-credits scene. Red Guardian and Taskmaster were part of Black Widow too, with the latter ending the film free of the brainwashing done to her. Ghost was the villain in Ant-Man and the Wasp, though she was really more of a tragic character. Winter Soldier needs no introduction.

Before we get to see Thunderbolts though, the MCU will treat us to Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in November — the last entry in Phase Four. MCU’s Phase Five will kick off with the Paul Rudd-led Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in February 2023, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May 2023, The Marvels with Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel in July 2023, the Mahershala Ali-led Blade in November 2023, and the Anthony Mackie-led Captain America: New World Order in May 2024. Thunderbolts will be followed by Matt Shakman’s Fantastic Four in November 2024, the two new Avengers films The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars in May and November 2025, respectively.

Thunderbolts is out July 26, 2024 in cinemas worldwide. Filming begins sometime in 2023.

Werewolf by Night Trailer: Marvel Halloween Special Sets October 7 Release Date

Werewolf by Night just got announced with a trailer at Disney’s D23 Expo. Marvel Studios unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Disney+ Halloween special, starring Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly in the lead. Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino is set to direct the retro horror mystery, serving as a new entrant to Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Development on the special began in August 2021, with Giacchino joining the project in March, earlier this year. Werewolf by Night releases on October 7, exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar.

The trailer for Werewolf by Night follows an aesthetic reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock films, featuring a noir-ish tone and strong violin notes. The Halloween special will be presented in full monochrome, with an age-old sound design that might often peak during dialogue sequences. A hunt for hunters is kicked off in the Werewolf by Night trailer as Verusa assigns the thrilling game to attendees of a social gathering. “Tonight, it is every hunter for themselves,” she announces. “But, one of you is a monster. Masquerading as one of our own.” She is of course referring to Jack Russell (Bernal), the feral hybrid who transforms into the titular monster as dusk comes in.

In classic Hitchcockian fashion, the Werewolf by Night trailer jump cuts between several action sequences, as the caged-up beast attacks the onlookers, mauling their faces and sucking up every ounce of blood. Interestingly, the werewolf isn’t the only predator here, as the impersonation of Death gradually stalks him, making him pay for the sins he has committed. Prosthetics seem to be handmade as well, which adds to the retro aesthetic.

Unlike other MCU properties, this special seems to be heavy on the gore, with key takeaways being decapitations and loads of blood, albeit in black-and-white format. Another cool thing to notice is the digitally added cigarette burns at the top-right corner, which normally indicates that a film reel is being replaced. Marvel Studios also unveiled an official poster for the same, which you can check out at the bottom of this article.

Werewolf by Night premieres on October 7, exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar. Currently, there is no information on its runtime.

Secret Invasion Trailer: Nick Fury’s War Pulls in Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman

Secret Invasion trailer is here. At Disney’s D23 Expo 2022, Marvel Studios unveiled the first trailer for Secret Invasion, an upcoming live-action series that will kick off Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the small screen. The Secret Invasion trailer brings back Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), his Captain Marvel foe-turned-ally Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), former SHIELD ally Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), CIA agent Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), and the Avenger War Machine/ James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), alongside introducing the new characters played by Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke. But we still don’t have names for either of the latter two.

Nick Fury (Jackson) walks out of a spaceship at the start of the Secret Invasion trailer, before walking into a bar I’m guessing is in Eastern Europe, given the language on the signage at the door. “For years, you’ve been avoiding Earth. I have called for your help plenty of other times and you’ve been pretty content to let those calls go straight to voicemail,” Maria Hill (Smulders) says to Fury as he sits down. Fury — who has grown quite a beard in the years he’s been away — nonchalantly replies: “Yeah well, this is different.”

Elsewhere in the Secret Invasion trailer, Fury questions James Rhodes (Cheadle) how much he knows about his security detail. There’s a brief shot of Everett K. Ross (Freeman) — who’s also part of the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever — before Talos (Mendelsohn) comes on screen to warn Fury: “We’ve got to be very careful now.” Cut to another scene, where Talos is confronted by a dozen lookalikes — they are clearly all Skrulls.

Following an explosion in a different shot — also somewhere in Eastern Europe — the Secret Invasion trailer introduces Olivia Colman’s character who tells Fury: “You’re in no shape for this fight that lies before us.” As Rhodes and Hill walk through corridors or slink through dimly-lit alleyways respectively, Emilia Clarke shows up to say: “This is just the beginning.”

It’s unclear who she’s speaking to, but it’s Fury who responds via voiceover: “This is my war, alone. And I’m the last person standing between them and what they really want.” The Secret Invasion trailer ends with a Skrull (not disguised) screaming, a helicopter firing at a convoy, and Talos asking the question on everyone’s minds: “And what is that?” Unfortunately, there’s no answer, as the Secret Invasion trailer cuts to title card.

On stage at D23 Expo 2022, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also revealed that Secret Invasion will lead straight into the six-episode Cheadle-led Armor Wars, which has yet to begin production.

Secret Invasion is out in early 2023 on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer: No Helmet, Mandalorian No More

The Mandalorian season 3 teaser trailer is here. At Disney’s D23 Expo 2022, Lucasfilm unveiled the first trailer from the upcoming third season of the Pedro Pascal-led Star Wars series. Pascal was on stage at D23 alongside cast members Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon), Emily Swallow (The Armorer), Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze), and Amy Sedaris (Peli Motto), and The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni. The first The Mandalorian season 3 trailer is full of action and a tease at Mando’s continued adventures with Grogu/ Baby Yoda, after they were reunited in The Book of Boba Fett. Also, The Mandalorian season 3 has seemingly been delayed.

“This is the one you saved?” The Armorer (Swallow) says via voiceover at the start of the first The Mandalorian season 3 trailer, as we are shown shots from season 2 before switching to present day. “You are as its father. A clan… of two.” As the Mandalorian heads into new adventures, The Armorer’s voiceover continues: “But you have removed your helmet. Then you are a Mandalorian no more.” In another glimpse at an action scene, we see the Mandalorian’s new spaceship — created in The Book of Boba Fett — being chased by a pack.

Elsewhere in the first The Mandalorian season 3 trailer, Bo-Katan has some choice words for the Mandalorian after he goes to see her: “Your cult fractured our people. Where were you then?” As a bunch of Bo-Katan-affiliated Mandalorians head on a mission — the shot of them dropping out of a spaceship is very cool — one of them asks Grogu: “Did you think your dad was the only Mandalorian?” I’m guessing Baby Yoda is confused by how everyone around him roams around in helmets?

The last 30 seconds of The Mandalorian season 3 teaser trailer brings back the scientist Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi), as well as Mando’s friend and bounty hunter guild leader Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) who’s dressed in some kind of royal attire as he meets with a bunch of suspicious individuals. And is that a 3PO-series protocol droid I see behind Greef? The first The Mandalorian season 3 trailer ends with a shot of Peli Motto (Sedaris), more action scene snippets, and Grogu witnessing fireworks.

The Mandalorian season 3 is coming in 2023 on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar. Given we had previously been told of a February 2023 release window, the lack of a month in the trailer suggests a delay. With Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 set for January 2023, I suppose it makes sense that Lucasfilm wouldn’t want two Star Wars series to collide with each other.

Andor Final Trailer: War Erupts as the Rebellion Sets Their Plan in Motion in Star Wars Series

Andor, the upcoming Star Wars original series, just got a final trailer. At D23 Expo 2022 on Saturday, Lucasfilm unveiled the final trailer for the Diego Luna-led prequel show. Set before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the 12-episode series follows rebel spy Cassian Andor’s journey, as he goes up against the oppressive Empire. Billed as a spy thriller, Andor debuts exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar with a three-episode premiere on September 21.

The final trailer for Andor begins with a voiceover by the titular hero (Luna), acknowledging the “terrible things” he has committed on behalf of the Rebellion. As he prepares to infiltrate the Empire headquarters, he is stopped by Luther Rael (Stellan Skarsgård), who warns him of the lost cause. “It don’t matter what you tell me or tell yourself. You’ll ultimately die fighting these bastards,” he says, as Andor tries evading incoming bullets.

Andor final trailer in Hindi

The Andor trailer then switches sides to show the Empire, who are somehow aware of the Rebellion’s plans. “There is an organised rebel effort. Drill down and get a hunt started,” orders Dedra Meero, — played by Denise Gough — a high-ranking Imperial officer who has taken a dislike to Andor over the years. Little does she know, there is a rat within her organisation.

On the exterior, Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) might be a senator of the Empire. But in reality, she is conspiring with Rael to help found the Rebel Alliance, despite knowing what it’s going to cost her. “Do you realise what you’ve set in motion? People will suffer” she tells a determined Rael.

The remaining trailer blends into a montage of riots as the two teams clash, creating havoc and sparking a bit of romance between Andor and Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona) — though it’s a little complicated. Andor also stars Forest Whitaker as Saw Guerrera, Kyle Soller, and Fiona Shaw. Tony Gilroy (Bourne trilogy) serves as creator and showrunner of the Star Wars series, and has already announced a second season — completing the saga in a total 24 episodes.

Andor premieres September 21, exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar. Disney and Lucasfilm have also revealed a new poster for the new Star Wars show, as seen below.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2, Tales of the Jedi Trailer and Release Dates Unveiled

More Star Wars animated content is on the way — soon. At Disney’s D23 Expo 2022, Lucasfilm announced that the six-episode Tales of the Jedi will release October 26 on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar. Three of the episodes will follow Count Dooku, a Sith Lord who was once a Jedi, while the other three are focused on Ahsoka — Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan — meant to serve as backstory for the upcoming live-action series Ahsoka. And we have a Tales of the Jedi trailer. Alongside, in January 2023, Star Wars: The Bad Batch returns with its 16-episode second season on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar, kicking off with a two-episode premiere.

The Tales of the Jedi trailer chronicles the stories of Ahsoka and Master Dooku, with the former being followed from her childhood through her Jedi training, while the latter’s day as a Jedi who slowly goes off his path are depicted. Anakin will naturally feature on Tales of the Jedi, as will what seems to be Mace Windu, played by Samuel L. Jackson in the live-action Star Wars movies. The Tales of the Jedi trailer ends with a menacing beak-for-a-face Inquisitor facing up against Ahsoka.

As for Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2, the January 2023 premier confirms the rumoured delay. The Bad Batch was expected to return later in September, but after the Diego Luna-led Andor was pushed from August to September, fans feared that The Bad Batch season 2 wasn’t ready. After all, Disney+ and Lucasfilm wouldn’t want two Star Wars series to collide with each other and run at the same time. That said, The Bad Batch season 2 might run into The Mandalorian season 3 now, which is expected to premiere in February 2023.

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi arrives October 26 on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar, followed by Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 on January 4, 2023.
