The Flash Trailer: Barry Allen’s Worlds Collide in New DC Comics Time-Hopping Movie

Upcoming superhero movie The Flash just got its final trailer, ahead of its premiere on June 16. Marking a reset point for the DC Universe, the film has been long-gestating at Warner Bros., enduring a bunch of ups and downs, including lead Ezra Miller’s run-ins with law enforcement last year. The new trailer, however, seems to spoil the beginning segments of the much-awaited movie, as Barry Allen cracks open the multiverse with his new-found time travel abilities and reunites with his parents. Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne gets more screentime in this trailer, though there’s no indication of whether he will meet up with the alternate Michael Keaton version in the film.

The trailer for The Flash opens with our titular hero being cheered on by random kids on the street before getting called in to see Bruce Wayne (Affleck) in person. It’s unclear why The Flash seems reluctant to meet him, but he’s too timid to say no. “So you’re saying you can travel back in time?”, Wayne asks Allen (Miller), presumably to see if those powers could be used for the benefit of Earth. “But Bruce, I can fix things. I could save people. I could save my mom. I could save your parents,” he tells Wayne, who holds onto the belief that messing with time could be catastrophic.

The Flash trailer then cuts to show Allen sprinting back in time to see his mom (Maribel Verdú), who died on the same fateful night that he got his superhuman powers. Of course, his father Henry Allen (Ron Livingston) is at the kitchen table as well, having been falsely arrested on suspicion of murder back then.

The reunited family start chatting about Barry’s school life, to which he responds with “good” in a really corny manner — one that’s enough to pique suspicion from his mother. However, it appears as if Barry didn’t plan out his time travel mission fully, as the alternate timeline’s Barry slowly makes his way towards the house. The pair meet upstairs in Barry’s room, agreeing on how trippy the entire affair is. “Dude, this is catastrophic,” the future Barry explains in The Flash trailer. We then skip to General Zod’s (Michael Shannon) arrival on Earth with the intention of destroying it — an Earth without metahumans, so there’s no Superman to save the day this time. Soon after, our heroic pair meet up with this timeline’s version of the Kryptonian hero — Supergirl (Sasha Calle), who agrees to help on the mission and goes head-to-head in combat with the villainous Zod.

“Interesting group,” an older Wayne (Keaton) says, presumably coming out from retirement. “Want some help?” He also seems quite charitable, handing out one of his suits to the alternate Barry to spraypaint it and turn it into a makeshift Flash suit. As for how this timeline’s Barry gained powers is a bit unclear for now, but he seems capable enough to stay toe-to-toe with the more advanced superheroes in the battle against Zod. Despite being old, Keaton’s Batman is fully combat-ready in The Flash trailer, easily fending for himself against mercenaries by smoothly gliding in and dispatching them one after the other.

The trailer ends with a montage of Earth’s heroes working together, with The Flash spinning in place and sending out a mini tornado to hunt down enemies. Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West, who first appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, is also seen towards the end, making a keen observation that Barry has got some really ‘fancy friends’.

The Flash speeds into theatres worldwide on June 16.

Five dream guests for ESPN’s Kay-Rod cast for peak ‘mischief’

Alex Rodriguez and Michael Kay did not wish to name specific dream guests for their ESPN Kay-Rod broadcasts, so we are taking it upon ourselves to do so for them.

On a conference call to promote their alternative “Sunday Night Baseball” telecasts for the upcoming season, The Post asked Kay and Rodriguez about who they would most want to have on the show.

“I like mischief,” Kay said.

“So anybody that could rile up Alex would be a dream guest. People from his past, not to name names, but I thought it was great to have Derek Jeter last year, and there was a lot of anticipation for that.

“If we could get people from Alex’s past, maybe people that he dated, not naming names, I think that would be fun.”

Since they declined to name specifics, here are some guests who would achieve the goal of peak awkwardness.

ESPN’s Kay-Rod broadcast kicks off with Rangers-Phillies on Sunday night on ESPN2.

Ben Affleck

Affleck is a die-hard Red Sox fan, and could be fun guest for the rivalry with the Yankees.

This also buries the lead, that he is married to Jennifer Lopez, A-Rod’s ex-fiancée, for the second time.

Because Jeter has already gone on the program, Affleck might be the next person out there who would make their spot appointment TV.

Madonna

Madonna falls into the the list of people who A-Rod has dated in the past — at least they were rumored to have in 2008.

She has a connection to baseball, having starred in “A League of Their Own” in 1992.

Bronson Arroyo

During the 2004 ALCS between the Yankees and Red Sox, A-Rod stirred up a big controversy when he swatted the ball out of Arroyo’s glove after hitting a slow roller down the first base line.

“I thought it was a little unprofessional,” Arroyo said at the time.

For his part, A-Rod explained what he should’ve done differently.

“I knew [Arroyo] was coming. I knew the line belongs to me. Maybe looking back, I should have tried to run him over,” Rodriguez said of the incident.

Dallas Braden

Braden is another former MLB pitcher who previously beefed with A-Rod.

In a 2010 game between the Yankees and A’s, A-Rod jogged over the mound to return to first base after a foul ball went out of play.

“This is my mound, my rubber,” Braden told the slugger.

A couple weeks later, Rodriguez was not letting the controversy bother him.

“It’s tempting to sit back here and go back and forth with the media for the next three months, but I’m not going to do that,” he said at the time.

“For us to be thinking about him and Oakland is a disservice to us.”

Mike Francesa

Now we have to turn the tables and create some “mischief” for Kay.

Francesa and Kay competed against each other in afternoon drive, for WFAN and ESPN New York respectively, for years.

Things grew especially fractious when Kay’s simulcast replaced Francesa’s on YES Network, and Kay celebrated the occasion by throwing a Diet Coke — known forever as Francesa’s beverage of choice — in the trash can.

From then on, there was not just competition for ratings on the airwaves, but a war of words that would endure for a long time.

A-Rod also has a history with Francesa, having infamously done an interview with the radio legend on WFAN in 2013 in which he denied steroid use and called former MLB commissioner Bud Selig the “man from Milwaukee.”

KayRod airs eight times throughout the 2023 MLB season, at 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN2. The first edition comes on April 2 when the Phillies play at the Rangers.

Ben Affleck backtracks on blaming Jennifer Garner for alcoholism

Ben Affleck is setting the record straight on who he blames for his past drinking issues, stating in a new interview, “To be clear, my behavior is my responsibility entirely.”

The Argo director, 50, told the Hollywood Reporter Thursday that he has become “very guarded” after telling Howard Stern in 2021 that he’d still be drinking if he’d stayed married to Jennifer Garner — because he feels his comments were misconstrued.

“The point that I was trying to make was a sad one,” he clarified.

“Anyone who’s been through divorce makes that calculus of, ‘How much do we try?’ We loved each other. We care about each other. We have respect for each other.”

Affleck then further explained, “I was trying to say, ‘Hey, look, I was drinking too much, and the less happy you become, whether it’s your job, your marriage, it’s just that as your life becomes more difficult, if you’re doing things to fill a hole that aren’t healthy, you’re going to start doing more of those things.’ I think I was pretty articulate about that.”

Affleck previously told Howard Stern of his marriage with Garner, “Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped.”

When the “Good Will Hunting” star went on Stern’s radio show, he said “part” of the reason he started drinking was because he felt “trapped” in his marriage with Garner, 50.

The remarks grew criticism from fans and even close friends of his ex-wife.

“It’s disgusting,” one industry insider previously told Page Six in December 2021.

Affleck said he meant to say that as life becomes more “difficult,” that can lead to drinking more.

“Jen has been the only one picking him up time and time again when he’s done horrible things — fallen off the wagon or worse. Jen stood by him because she loves him. This is the mother of his children.”

Soon after the interview went viral, Affleck appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to address the controversial comments.

“I don’t believe that — it’s the exact opposite of who I am, what I believe, and I would never want my kids to ever say a bad word about their mom,” the “Justice League” actor said at the time.

Affleck and Garner were married from 2005 to 2018. They share three kids: Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11.

The former couple first announced they were separating in 2015, and prior to finalizing their divorce three years later, Affleck went to rehab multiple times.

The “Armageddon” star had been open about the fact that he struggled with alcohol addiction, saying in a Facebook post in 2017, “I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step.”

However, Affleck appears to have become more cautious now of speaking to the press about his problems, telling the Hollywood Reporter that he views interviews as “land mines,” where “if you say one wrong thing, your career might be over.”

He called the fallout from the Stern interview a really “painful experience” because he was “really vulnerable,” and “the entire pickup was something that was not only not right, it was actually the opposite of what I meant.”

Affleck said that his current wife, Jennifer Lopez, has encouraged him, though, to just “relax,” be himself and “have fun” with the entire process.

“As in many things, she’s really right,” the “Deep Water” star concludes. “And she loves me. She’s looking out for me. She’s trying to help me. So it’s like, maybe I ought to f–cking listen to her.”

Ben Affleck reveals why he appeared miserable at Grammys 2023

Ben Affleck denies having a bad time at the 2023 Grammy Awards and claims his viral unenthused face was due to host Trevor Noah catching him off guard for a skit.

“I saw [Noah approach] and I was like, ‘Oh, God,’” the Argo director told The Hollywood Reporter in a new feature published Thursday.

“They were framing us in this shot, but I didn’t know they were rolling.”

Just before the skit began, cameras captured Affleck having a conversation with his wife, Jennifer Lopez.

The “Gone Girl” star, 50, said that he had been joking with the “Jenny From the Block” singer, 53, telling her, “As soon they start rolling, I’m going to slide away from you and leave you sitting next to Trevor.”

“She goes, ‘You better f–king not leave,’” Affleck adds. “That’s a husband-and-wife thing. I mean, some of it is, I’m like, ‘All right, who is this act?’”

In the skit, Noah, 39, pretended to be on the phone with his mom after Sam Smith’s controversial performance of “Unholy,” and quipped, “Mom, it wasn’t the actual devil. No, they were just dressed as the devil, mom.”

At the time, the host was seated next to Lopez, who could be seen sternly patting her husband on the chest amid a brief chat.

After the moment went viral, everyone from fans to experts weighed in on the exchange.

A lip reader thought Lopez told her husband, “Look more friendly. Look motivated.”

A body language expert claimed the “Shotgun Wedding” star’s gesture was “reproachful” and was an attempt to show “control.”

Lopez claimed on Instagram that she had the “best time” with Affleck at the Grammys.

However, Lopez tried to quiet the noise by taking to social media soon after the Grammys and sharing that she had the “best time” with her “love” at the awards show.

Multiple sources previously told Page Six that Affleck was seen in a great mood backstage, and one insider shared with us an exclusive video of the “Armageddon” actor laughing with Queen Latifah.

Affleck insisted to the Hollywood Reporter that he had a “good time” at the Grammys, although he did consider the award show to be his “wife’s work event.”

“My wife was going, and I thought, ‘Well, there’ll be good music. It might be fun,’” he said.

“At movie award shows, it’s speeches and, like, sound-mixing webinars. But I thought this would be fun.”

Affleck recognized, though, that he has gone to Hollywood events “pissed” or drunk “a bunch” in the past.

“Nobody ever once said I’m drunk. [But at the Grammys] they were like, ‘He’s drunk,’” the “Deep Water” star said.

“And I thought, that’s interesting. That raises a whole other thing about whether or not it’s wise to acknowledge addiction because there’s a lot of compassion, but there is still a tremendous stigma, which is often quite inhibiting.”

Affleck, who revealed in March 2017 that he went to rehab for alcohol addiction, concluded, “I do think it disincentivizes people from making their lives better.”

Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck kiss in front of kids at Georgia wedding

Sealed with a kiss — or 10!

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s kids’ presence didn’t stop them from smooching at their second wedding ceremony on Saturday night in Georgia.

The pair — who were dressed in stunning white ensembles — kissed in various locations on the actor’s massive estate as photographers snapped away and their five collective children looked on.

Lopez and Affleck’s kids looked on as their parents packed on the PDA.

The two said “I do” — again — at the actor’s 87-acre property in Riceboro, Ga., after first eloping in Las Vegas in July.

Guests at the southern bash included Affleck’s longtime pal, Matt Damon, and his wife, Luciana Barroso, as well as “Clerks” director Kevin Smith and actor Jason Mewes, along with their wives.

Guests also watched as the lovebirds exchanged smooches.

Page Six previously broke the news that celebrity life coach and spiritual podcaster Jay Shetty was selected to officiate the duo’s second time at the altar, while luxury event planner Colin Cowie was hired to create the multi-day celebration of their dreams.

While it’s unclear what Shetty charges for his services, we know Cowie produces national and international events “with budgets ranging from $25,000 to $25 million.”

As for the blushing bride’s relationship with her handsome groom, the two went full-speed ahead after rekindling their 20-year-old romance in April 2021.

The “Gone Girl” star’s three children, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel, and the “On the Floor” singer’s twins, Max and Emme, carried Lopez’s veil down the aisle.

The Oscar winner, 50, proposed to the Grammy winner, 53, for the second time this past April with an enormous emerald engagement ring.

The group stopped walking so their parents could kiss.

This marks Lopez’s fourth marriage and Affleck’s second, as he was previously married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018.

Love was clearly in the air during the event.

Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck wedding to be officiated by Jay Shetty

Celebrity life coach and big-time podcaster Jay Shetty is expected to officiate the wedding between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in Georgia this weekend, Page Six has learned.

It seems Shetty — who has hosted a ton of stars including Kobe Bryant, Will Smith and Gwyneth Paltrow on his “On Purpose” podcast — has been close with the superstar singer for a couple of years.

Lopez has also appeared on the show, and she invited him to officiate four weddings that she orchestrated as part of a PR stunt for her latest movie, “Marry Me,” in February.

The British spiritual star, who is a former Hindu monk and Accenture strategist, also officiated the wedding of Lily Collins and director Charlie McDowell in Colorado September last year.

When she appeared on his YouTube series, “Coach Conversations,” last summer, Lopez discussed her relationship struggles over the years.

She said that when she was doing therapy in her 30s, “there [was] a lot of talk about loving yourself and I was like ‘I love myself!’ But obviously I was doing all of these things in my personal relationship that didn’t seem like I was loving myself but I didn’t even understand the concept of it.” She added, “I took time and it’s a journey and it’s still a journey for me.”

Shetty is also the author of the bestselling book “Think Like a Monk.”

Lopez and Affleck are planning to say “I do” a second time in front of the friends and family who weren’t at their Vegas wedding.

To promote their rom-com, Lopez and Maluma performed a special concert in Los Angeles, and had four couples get married by Shetty on the stage.

Shetty said on social media at the time, “When Jennifer Lopez asks you to officiate 4 weddings and speak on the power of love during her ‘Marry Me’ Special Performance you say yes. What an incredible experience it was seeing 4 beautiful couples take their vows and having Jennifer Lopez and Maluma as their wedding singers! Their stories and journeys brought tears to everyone’s eyes and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it.”
