OnePlus 12 Tipped to Launch in December; Leaked Specifications Hint at Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC: Details

OnePlus 12 specifications have surfaced online, months ahead of the expected debut of the purported OnePlus 11 (Review) successor. The handset is rumoured to make its debut before the end of 2023. The Chinese smartphone maker has not confirmed any details about the OnePlus 12 launch timeline. Meanwhile, the purported specifications and features of the upcoming OnePlus flagship have leaked. The latest leak has also hinted at the launch timeline of the device, and it appears that the OnePlus 12 will launch a bit sooner than previously expected. Also, the flagship Android smartphone is likely to get many upgrades in the camera, performance, and charging departments.

Tipster Experience More (translated from Chinese) claims in a Weibo post that the OnePlus 12 will launch in December. OnePlus is tipped to launch its top-tier smartphone with the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Qualcomm is likely to unveil its upcoming Snapdragon flagship mobile platform at the Qualcomm Summit in Hawaii in October. The leaked timeline suggests that the OnePlus 11 could be one of the first smartphones to feature the next-generation flagship SoC.

The OnePlus 12 is also rumoured to sport a centre-aligned hole-punch display cutout for a selfie camera. The screen will likely be curved towards the edges and offer a 2K resolution. The exact size of the phone’s display is currently unknown. If the display will be the same as the OnePlus 11, then the OnePlus 12 might sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display. A recent report also claimed that the phone will continue to offer support for a 120Hz refresh rate.

On the rear panel, the phone is tipped to sport a centre-aligned circular camera module at the top. The device might feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel Sony IMX 9-series primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope lens.

The device is also tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery and offer support for 150W wired charging. In comparison, the OnePlus 11 features a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging. We are still a few months away from the rumoured launch timeline, so it is worth taking these leaked specifications with a pinch of salt.

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Live Images Leak Online, Hint at Imminent Launch: Details

OnePlus Nord CE 3 is expected to launch in India soon, alongside the OnePlus Nord 3 and the OnePlus Buds 2R. The company has already teased the arrival of all three devices via a microsite, which suggests they could be unveiled in the coming weeks. The specifications of the OnePlus Nord CE 3 smartphone have previously surfaced online, giving smartphone enthusiasts an idea of what to expect from the successor to the OnePlus Nord CE 2. Live images of the smartphone have now been leaked, ahead of its debut in India.

Purported live images of the OnePlus Nord CE 3 leaked by Pricebaba, in collaboration with an unnamed tipster, suggest that the upcoming OnePlus mid-range smartphone will bear a resemblance to the Realme 10 Pro+ in some ways. The leaked photos show only parts of the handset, such as the camera module, which includes a triple camera setup and an LED flash. Previous reports have suggested that the OnePlus Nord CE 3 will feature a 50-megapixel IMX890 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The leaked images also point to the absence of OnePlus’ alert slider, while the volume and power button could be located on the same side. The handset is shown to sport a display with slightly curved edges and centre-aligned hole-punch cutout at the top to house the selfie camera. According to reports, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 could be equipped with a 6.72-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

With no indication of a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the purported OnePlus Nord CE 3, it is possible that the handset will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. Finally, a leaked image of the top edge of the smartphone indicates the presence of what appear to be an infrared (IR) blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microphone.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 is expected to arrive in India alongside the OnePlus Nord 3 and the OnePlus Buds 2R on July 5, as per previous reports. The handset is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 782G chip with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It is also tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging. Crypto Market Watch: Bitcoin, Ether Carry Recovered Prices Into June End Amid Market Volatility

The crypto market did not attain milestone stabilisation despite positive developments making a splash over the weekend. Bitcoin, for instance, stepped into the last week of June with a small loss of 0.29 percent. The price point for BTC, however, did manage to stay above the mark of $30,000 (roughly Rs. 24.3 lakh). At the time of writing, BTC was trading at $30,449 (roughly Rs, 24.9 lakh). Over the weekend, the most expensive cryptocurrency rose in price by $494 (roughly Rs. 40,500).

The US SEC, amid its ongoing tussle with crypto players like Binance and Coinbase, approved the launch of the first leveraged Bitcoin Futures ETF in the US. Leveraged funds use debt or financial derivatives — in this case, Bitcoin futures — as leverage to magnify the returns of a benchmark index. In addition, Federal Reserve Chair Jeremy Powell also testified in the House Financial Services Committee, saying that crypto does have a staying power in the US.

Both of these developments contributed to the crypto market seeing profits over the weekend.

Ether reflected a small gain of 0.17 percent on Gadgets 360’s crypto price chart on Monday. The price of ETH stands at the point of $1,873 (roughly Rs. 1.5 lakh) as of June 26. The second-most valued cryptocurrency after Bitcoin, ETH slipped by $2 (roughly Rs. 163) in the last two days.

The crypto chart clearly marked a split with BTC and ETH taking different trajectories on the price path.

With small but significant profits, Binance Coin, Ripple, Solana, Tron, Polkadot, Avalanche, and Polygon joined ETH on the green side of the price chart.

Tether, USD Coin, Cardano, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and Shiba Inu, meanwhile, replicated BTC’s market movement and stayed on the loss-ridden red side of the price chart.

The overall crypto market, comprising of 25,943 registered cryptocurrencies, slipped by 0.84 percent in its valuation in the last 24 hours. The market cap of the crypto sector, as of June 26, stands at $1.18 trillion, shows the data by CoinMarketCap.

The crypto fear and greed index has registered no movement and continues to remain at a score of 65/100.

“Bitcoin’s market depth continues to be an area of concern. However, with this correction phase predicted to settle by the end of the year, it could see trading volumes picking up,” Rajagopal Menon, Vice President, WazirX, told Gadgets 360.

Spy Shot of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Confirms Its Biggest Upgrade for This Year: Details

With the expected launch event of Samsung’s Galaxy Z series of foldable devices set for some time in July, the leaks have begun to intensify and now, we finally have our first look at the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to be the device which will pack in more upgrades between the two foldables to be announced this year, and this is mainly down to the much-anticipated larger outer display. The larger outer display is expected to replace the mainly cosmetic, tiny external display, which has been a staple on Samsung’s flip phones since the first Galaxy Z Flip model was announced in early 2020.

The image leaked by tipster Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) shows the upcoming clamshell foldable inside a rather boxy-looking protective case, which is commonly used to conceal the design of the smartphone during testing. Regardless of the case, it’s easy to tell that the phone inside is the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which has shown up in several leaks over the past few months.

While the case manages to conceal the overall design of the device, there are still openings for the cameras, buttons and the hinge. Mainly, there’s a large cutout on the top cover, which reveals the new outer display.

The larger outer display in the image appears to be in a standby or an always-on display mode for showcasing the time with a clock. More importantly, the cutout is quite large, confirming that the display has a large touch-friendly surface unlike the outgoing Galaxy Z Flip 4 model. Still, it does not appear as big as the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra‘s outer display which has its rear cameras embedded in it.

Also confirmed, thanks to the leaked image, is the new gapless flat folding design, which was not possible on previous models due to the old hinge mechanism. The new Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to have a new hinge design which will allow both halves of the foldable to sit flat against one another. This makes for a cleaner gapless look, which is present on recently launched vertical foldables models, and will also prevent dust and debris from settling on the inner folding display.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to be announced alongside the bigger Galaxy Z Fold 5 model at a launch event which is set to take place in Seoul, Korea. The Galaxy Z Flip 5, according to a recent report, is expected to have a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED primary display with 120Hz refresh rate. The upgraded outer AMOLED display is expected to have always-on capability — like on the iPhone 14 Pro models —and will measure 3.4-inches diagonally with an HD resolution.

The phone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and will have 8 GB of RAM. The phone is expected to be available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants. Expect two 12-megapixel cameras at the back with minor changes over the outgoing model and a 3,700mAh battery with 25W wired charging support.
