Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Getting One UI 6 Update Based on Android 14 in India: Report

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G has reportedly started getting the Android 14 update in India. The update is said to bring One UI 6, along with the November 2023 Android security patch to the mid-range Galaxy A series handset. The Android 14 update comes with firmware version A146BXXU2CWK9. The company has already rolled out the security update for devices including Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, and Galaxy S23 FE. The Galaxy A14 5G was launched in January.

As per a report by SamMobile, One UI 6 update based on Android 14 for Samsung Galaxy A14 5G is currently rolling out in India. It is said to have a size of around 1.8GB. As mentioned, the update reportedly comes with firmware version A146BXXU2CWK9 and brings the November Android security patch to eligible units. The update adds Android 14 features alongside the list of upgrades under One UI 6. It brings an enhanced quick settings panel, new widgets, and a new design for emojis.

Eligible Galaxy A14 5G handsets in India will receive the latest update automatically. Users can also manually check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and Install. It is recommended to update smartphones while they are connected to a strong Wi-Fi network and put on charging.

The Galaxy A14 5G was launched in January with a starting price tag of Rs. 16,499. It features a 6.6-inch full-HD+(1,080×2,408 pixels) PLS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 1330 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM.

Samsung has packed a triple rear camera setup on the Galaxy A14 5G, including a 50-megapixel main camera and two 2-megapixel sensors. Samsung Galaxy A14 5G has made its appearance on the Geekbench listing with the model number SM-A146B. The listing hints at an octa-core processor, a Mali G68 GPU, and 4GB of RAM for the upcoming smartphone. The upcoming A-series handset from Samsung was also spotted on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) database. The listing had indicated that the Galaxy A14 5G may launch soon. The handset from the South Korean company is said to support Bluetooth v5.2 and is expected to be the successor of the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G.

The Galaxy A14 5G from Samsung has made its appearance on the benchmarking website Geekbench. The smartphone has scored 770 points in the single-core test and 2151 points in the multi-core test. The Geekbench listing also indicated that the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G will come with an octa-core processor, a Mali G68 GPU, and 4GB of RAM.

As mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G was earlier spotted on the BIS database. According to the listing, the upcoming handset carries model numbers SM-A146U, SM-A146VL, SM-A146W, SM-A146U, SM-A146U1/DS, SM-A146P, SM-A146P/N, SM-A146P/DSN. The smartphone is also expected to launch soon and comes with Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity.

Meanwhile, the design and case renders of the handset were also leaked. The Galaxy A14 5G could sport a flat frame design that is similar to the Galaxy S22 series. The case renders of the smartphone also suggested three circular cutouts for the camera sensors, next to which is an LED flash module. The power button of the handset has been hinted to sport a fingerprint scanner.

The Samsung Galaxy A14 5G could also feature a water-drop notch for the selfie camera on the front. The handset is said to sport a 6.8-inch full-HD+ LCD display and is expected to measure 167.7 x 78.7 x 9.3mm.

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G is expected to launch soon. The company is expected to launch its new budget 5G smartphone in India and other markets later this year. Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy A14 5G launch date yet. Meanwhile, a new leak of alleged Galaxy A14 5g cases has revealed the design of the Samsung Galaxy A-series smartphone. The images uploaded by tipster Sudhansu Ambhore, citing case makers, reveal the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G’s design from all sides.

The Samsung Galaxy A14 5G will launch as a successor to the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G, which did not make it to India. Samsung is likely to make some minor tweaks in the design of the Galaxy A14 5G. The smartphone is said to sport a flat frame design, similar to the Galaxy S22 series. The case renders further show the front and back of the device, which matches previously leaked renders.

The new case renders show three circular cutouts for the camera sensors, next to which is an LED flash module. The tipster did not reveal any details about the camera specifications of the phone. However, looking at the 2022 (and possibly 2023) smartphone trends, it would not be surprising to see the Galaxy A14 5G get a 50-megapixel primary camera sensor along with two 2-megapixel sensors for depth sensing and macro photography.

On the front, the Galaxy A14 is said to sport a water-drop notch for the selfie camera. Samsung is likely to call the notch its Infinity-U display. The handset’s volume and power buttons appear to be positioned on the right edge, whereas the left side is completely flush. The power button is likely to double up a fingerprint scanner.

At the bottom, the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G seems to sport a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille. Since it is a budget offering, the 5G smartphone from Samsung is unlikely to get a dual-speaker setup. The leaked case renders show the phone in its green colour option. We can expect Samsung to launch the phone in more colourways, including the classic Black and White options.

Some specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G were also suggested alongside the design renders. The phone is said to sport a 6.8-inch full-HD+ LCD display. The Galaxy A14 is said to measure 167.7 x 78.7 x 9.3mm. More details of the handset should be available in the coming months.
