Oppo Find X7 Pro Live Images Surface Online, Shows Octagonal Camera Module

Oppo Find X7 Pro is expected to launch soon in China. The phone is said to succeed the Oppo Find X6 Pro, which was launched alongside the Oppo Find X6 in March this year. The upcoming Find X7 Pro has been tipped to be a camera-centric flagship. We have seen several leaks and speculations about the camera units of the phone over the past few weeks. Recently, the design of the camera module was spotted online. Now live images of the handset have leaked online suggesting more details of the handset.

Weibo user Novice Evaluation (translated from Chinese) leaked alleged live images of the Oppo Find X7 Pro on Weibo. The images show the rumoured dual periscope telephoto cameras of the handset. An octagon-shaped camera module is seen placed centrally at the top of the handset’s back panel. The module appears to have four camera sensors. The LED flash unit, however, is seen placed on the top left corner of the panel, outside the camera module. This follows a design trend that we have already seen in the Oppo Find N3 Flip, OnePlus Open, as well as the Oppo Find N3.

The camera module of the Oppo Find X7 Pro is seen with a rounded silver metal frame, similar to what was previously spotted in a leak. The quad-camera setup of the handset has been tipped to include a primary sensor, two telephoto units, and one ultra-wide shooter. The dual periscope telephoto cameras are said to be equipped with a 50-megapixel sensor with 2.7X optical zoom and another 50-megapixel sensor with 6X optical zoom. The Oppo Find X7 Pro is also expected to be one of the first smartphones to use a Sony LYT-900 sensor.

In November this year, Oppo announced a joint venture with Hasselblad to develop the next generation of HyperTone camera systems in 2024, starting with Oppo Find X7 models. This setup includes the HyperTone all main camera system, HyperTone image engine, and HyperTone ProXDR display, which is expected to ensure high image qualities for all focal lengths across all lighting conditions.

One of the leaked live images also shows us the front of the purported Oppo Find X7 Pro. It is seen with a curved display and a centred hole-punch slot at the top to hold the front camera. The image also shows an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Oppo Find X7 Pro is likely to arrive with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, while the base Find X7 is expected to get a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, according to a recent report.

Oppo Find X7 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Vivo X100 Pro+ Tipped to Get Sony LYT-900 Sensor

Oppo, Xiaomi, and Vivo – leading smartphone manufacturing companies, are reportedly testing new camera hardware. A tipster suggests that the firms are planning to use the new Sony LYT-900 sensor in their upcoming flagship smartphones. The models tipped to get the new Sony 1-inch sensor are the Oppo Find X7 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and Vivo X100 Pro+. In fact, the Oppo Find X7 Pro could be the first smartphone to launch with Sony’s new LYT-900 sensors.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) shared in a Weibo post that Oppo, Xiaomi, and Vivo are testing upcoming handsets with Sony LYT-900 cameras. According to the post, the tests are running well and premium models from all three brands could feature the 1-inch Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor in their rear camera modules.

The handsets said to get this new camera are the Oppo Find X7 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and Vivo X100 Pro+. The post suggests that the Find X7 Pro will likely be the first among the three to be released in the market. However, if rumours about their launch dates are to be believed, it is likely that all three smartphones will be unveiled in quick succession from one another. Therefore, there will truly not be a lasting amount of exclusivity around the release of the models with the Sony LYT-900 sensors.

According to a GSMArena report, the Sony LYT-900 sensor is likely to come with a new DCG (Dual Conversion Gain) technology that is expected to reduce image noise and improve image output in low light conditions.

Recently, the Realme GT 5 Pro model, which is expected to launch soon, was reported to carry the Sony LYTIA LYT808 as its primary sensor, an OmniVision OV08D10 secondary sensor, and a Sony IMX890 telephoto sensor. In its rumoured triple rear camera unit the phone is expected to come with two 50-megapixel and an 8-megapixel shooter.

OnePlus 12, Oppo Find X7 Pro Display and Charging Specifications Tipped Ahead of Debut

OnePlus 12 and Oppo Find X7 Pro are two flagships smartphones that are rumoured to launch later this year, most likely after Qualcomm unveils its next-generation flagship processor in October. Ahead of their debut, details of both handsets’ specifications have surfaced online, giving smartphone enthusiasts an idea of what to expect from the successors to the OnePlus 11 5G and Oppo Find X6 Pro. Both handsets are tipped to be powered by the purported Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and could offer up to 150W fast charging support.

Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) leaked details of “at least three” new smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors on Weibo. According to the tipster, these phones will be equipped with 2K displays with slightly curved, narrow displays that support high-frequency dimming.

The charging specifications of these three smartphones were also leaked by the tipster, who claims that the handsets will support 100W, 150W, and 240W wired charging. All three phones will also support 50W wireless charging, according to the Weibo user.

Meanwhile, the tipster has not shared other details of these smartphones, including their names or model numbers. However, a TheTechOutlook report citing a Twitter user, states that one of the three handsets will be the OnePlus 12 with 150W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support. Meanwhile, the Oppo Find X7 Pro will reportedly support wired and wireless charging at 100W and 50W, respectively.

Both smartphones will sport curved displays with support for high-frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming, as per the report. Meanwhile, both handsets will be equipped with thin bezels. It is worth noting that OnePlus and Oppo are yet to make any announcement related to the launch of these purported handsets.

Last month, a tipster had claimed that the OnePlus 12 would be launched in December. The leaked timeline for the launch of the next OnePlus flagship phone suggests that the handset could be one of the first to be equipped with Qualcomm’s next-generation chipset for high-end phones.

Another report states that OnePlus could equip the purported OnePlus 12 with a 2K OLED display sourced from Samsung. The phone’s screen is tipped to have a quad-HD+ resolution and support a 120Hz refresh rate. However, as we are several months away from the expected debut of the OnePlus 12 and Oppo Find X7 Pro in China, it is best to take these claims with a pinch of salt.
