OnePlus 12 Receives First Software Update in India; Includes Master Mode With Hasselblad Colour Tuning

As per the changelog, this update brings the OnePlus Master Mode feature to the handset, which includes Hasselblad colour tuning that is claimed to offer accurate skin tones and natural-looking colours in photographs. The mode also lets users click in RAW format and allows room for more manual adjustments of ISO, shutter speed, white balance, focus, etc.

Notably, the OnePlus 12 is equipped with a Hasselblad-tuned camera system which includes a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-808 primary sensor, a 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. The front camera carries a 32-megapixel sensor.

The new software update also introduces the ProXDR feature for Google Photos on OnePlus 12. The update also claims to improve system stability and fingerprint unlock success rate. It has a slightly smaller 6.78-inch 1.5K (1,264×2,780 pixels) LTPO 4.0 AMOLED screen — the refresh rate, display protection material, and other specifications of both phones are the same. It is powered by the previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which also powered last year’s OnePlus 11. The phone is equipped with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM.

The OnePlus 12R features a 50-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor and an f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 112-degree field-of-view, and a 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The phone has a 16-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture, according to the company.

Now a tipster has suggested the colour options and price range of the two new OnePlus models in India.

Tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) said in a post on X that the Indian variant of the OnePlus 12 is likely to launch in Black and Green colour options. He added that the phone will be available in configurations of up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. According to the tipster, the handset is expected to be priced in the country between Rs. 58,000 and Rs. 60,000. 

In the same post, Brar noted that the OnePlus 12R, which is confirmed to launch alongside the OnePlus 12, is expected to be available in India in Blue and Black colourways. It is said to be offered in similar RAM and storage configurations as the flagship model. The tipster suggests that the phone is likely to be priced between Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 42,000.
