Realme Mini Capsule Design Leaks Online, Could Feature Design Similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island

Realme is reportedly working on developing a front-facing display notch module that appears to be similar to the Dynamic Island feature on the iPhone 14 Pro series. Apple was the first to introduce such a functional camera cutout module with the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro lineup last September. Ever since the Cupertino, California-based iPhone maker unveiled the Dynamic Island, the feature has been widely tipped to be mimicked by Android smartphone manufacturers. The latest rumour seems to suggest that Realme could be among the first brands to develop its own take on Apple’s Dynamic Island.

Tipster Steve H. Mcfly (@onleaks) leaked the design of the “Realme Mini Capsule” in collaboration with SmartPrix. Realme is reportedly working on replicating the Dynamic Island feature found on Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro lineup. The video leaked by the tipster shows how the purported Mini Capsule could work on an upcoming Realme device.

The images and video shared by the tipster seem to suggest that Realme’s Mini Capsule will be slightly bigger and wider than the Dynamic Island seen on Apple’s iPhone 14 series. However, it will collapse into a much smaller circular hole-punch camera cutout, as per the leaked video.

The new feature that is said to be in development was previously teased on Twitter by Madhav Sheth, Vice President, Realme. However, the tweet was later deleted, as per the report.

The latest report goes a step further than suggesting the development of the feature and hints at the feature in action on a Realme-branded device. The video shows the functional cutout being utilised to display charging status through animations and colours that seem to change depending on the level of the battery.

The purported Realme Mini Capsule could also offer support for other features besides expanding to reveal charging information, as per the report.

Last September, the company launched a ‘realme Island – Creators Challenge’ contest on its community forum, seeking design ideas for a version of Apple’s Dynamic Island on Android phones. The company’s community post was updated in October with winners of the contest.

It is important to note that Realme is yet to provide any official confirmation regarding the development or deployment of the Dynamic Island-like Mini Capsule feature. The feature could eventually offer additional functionality, displaying notifications, and controlling music playback, similar to the Dynamic Island on Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro series of smartphones.

All iPhone 15 Models to Get Apple’s Dynamic Island, iPhone 15 Pro May Sport Titanium Frame: Gurman

Apple is expected to offer the Dynamic Island feature that made its debut on its current generation iPhone 14 Pro on all four iPhone 15 models. This feature is designed to make the best use of the space that was being wasted around the notch on the front that houses the TrueDepth sensor. Dynamic Island can showcase notifications and can be used to manage music streaming, among other tasks, once apps add support for the feature. It was introduced with the iPhone 14 series, but was limited to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models.

Mark Gurman suggests in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter that all four iPhone 15 series models will sport Apple’s Dynamic Island. There will reportedly be no change in the screen sizes of these handsets from the current generation models. The iPhone 15 series will also come with a USB Type-C port in compliance with the EU common charger legislation.

The Cupertino company is said to have also replaced the stainless-steel frame with a titanium one on the Pro models. These phones are expected to be powered by a chipset that faster than the Apple A16 that powers the current-generation Pro models. A recent report suggests that the purported Apple A17 chipset may use TSMC’s 3nm process for up to 35 more energy efficiency.

Gurman claims that Apple has poured most of its resources into getting its mixed-reality headset launch-ready for a possible unveiling during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. As a result, the software department is reportedly prioritising the headset’s own xrOS operating system. Apple is believed to have several hardware and software kinks to work out on this headset.

This reallocation of resources has reportedly cost iOS 17 a few new features as well, according to Gurman. Codenamed Dawn, this new operating system could now offer only a few major changes; iPadOS 17 and macOS 14 could also suffer the same fate.

Dynamic Island Could Feature on All Android Phones. Here’s How to Download

A few weeks after Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 lineup at its ‘Far Out’ event on September 7 with a major design change with the Dynamic Island, now Android smartphone users can also add this new feature to their devices.

You can build your own customized implementation of the new iPhone feature using the DynamicSpot app.

The developers wrote about the app, “With dynamicSpot you can easily get the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island feature on your android device! dynamicSpot gives you Dynamic Island mini multitasking feature, making it easier to access recent notifications or phone status changes. Just tap on the little black dynamic spot / popup to open the displayed app, long press the popup to expand it and view more details.”

According to reports, the app works with practically every other Android app, including chat, music, and timer apps.

Altering interaction preferences and choosing whether to display or conceal the DynamicSpot popup are additional ways to personalise the application.

You can get the fundamental DynamicSpot application from the Google Play Store for free, saving you from having to spend at least Rs 129,900 for the new iPhone 14 Pro or more for the Pro Max.

The Dynamic Island app has gained attention in the tech community since its release. Every smartphone user wants it, and manufacturers want to include it in their products.

The Chinese smartphone brand Realme even initiated a contest called “Realme Island – Creators Challenge’ to gather ideas regarding the implementation of a Dynamic Island-like feature on Realme phones.

Realme had launched the contest on its community forum, asking fans for ideas and opinions on how it could implement a copy of Dynamic Island on the Realme devices.

The company claims that the proposed software feature would turn the camera cutout into a multifunctional feature.

According to Realme, the UI around the camera hole could morph into different shapes and sizes to display incoming phone calls, alerts, notifications, and more.
