I tried my dog’s treats — people call me odd but I was curious

A dog owner was “curious” about what she was feeding her dog — so she decided to try the pup’s treats for herself.

Diaine feeds her chihuahua, named Lady, a variety of treats, but she wanted to see if she would like them as much as her fur baby does.

The 22-year-old from Edinburgh posted a TikTok video, which now has 93,000 views, showing herself taste-testing four different treats.

She started with the spring and coconut-flavored treat, which she was pleasantly surprised by.

“This is actually really good,” she admitted and rated the treat a 9 out of 10.

The next snack she tried was the low-fat one — “for when Lady is feeling skinny.”

Diaine didn’t like this one nearly as much and almost instantly spit it out, rating it 3 out of 10 while she made a gagging noise.

“I love salmon so this one has to be good,” she said as she moved on to the salmon-flavored snack.

She chewed it for a little then spit it out, remarking that she wouldn’t eat it but it does actually taste like a biscuit, which prompted her to rank it a 7 out of 10.

Chewy duck fillets were the next to be taste tested, which Diaine said she was “scared” for because they were “slimy.”

Diaine had trouble even biting it and ultimately decided she didn’t want it. She ranked it a 4 out of 10.

“A lot of people said it was a weird thing but you’re on this planet one time. Do you not get curious to try new things?,” she told the Scottish Sun. “Even staring at my dog eating treats, I just get curious.”

The people in the comments were taken aback by what they just witnessed.

“I have no words,” one person said.

“Are you okay,” another wrote.

“Very odd,” a user commented.

“Are u feeling alright at all? This isn’t normal,” a concerned person asked.

“When u said taste testing I thought the dog was going to taste it,” someone said, adding the crying emoji.

Others encouraged Diaine’s taste testing — and even told her what to try next.

“Omg try the wagg peanut and banana cookies bet they are nice, they smell good!” someone commented.

“You need to try chocolate for dogs,” another suggested.

Dramatic footage of dog wedged in store window

Dramatic footage of a small dog being rescued after getting wedged in the window of a designer store has gone viral.

Shoppers were left in disbelief after the puppy fell between the store’s large windows and a sign on the first floor of the Miu Miu store on London’s prestigious Bond Street.

Passers-by looked on in horror as staff rushed to aid the pup, who was thankfully rescued by a quick-thinking employee who used a hanger to hook the doggo up to safety by its harness.

Footage has since spread on social media, with clips clocking up millions of views and a stream of comments.

Many poked fun at the situation, declaring it a “chic emergency” – while others expressed distress at the confronting clips.

“I would be bawling my eyes out,” one dog lover declared.

“The way I would let them hang me upside down to get that puppy,” another commented.

As another added: “Imagine the poor puppy’s thoughts when it first fell.”

The employee who rescued the pup also received a lot of praise, with many stating she was an “effective problem solver”.

In the footage posted to TikTok, she can be seen fetching a coat hanger then stretching her reach out in an attempt to snag the dog’s harness, before pulling it to safety in what appears to be an effortless job.

“I hope if she ever interviews and asks about a time she solved a problem she uses this,” one remarked.

“She’s a good problem solver for sure,” another agreed.

Someone else stated: “Can we talk about the level of reach she had my God!”

However, many were just confused as to how the dog fell down the gap in the first place, asking why it wasn’t on a lead.

“People need to stop taking their dogs off-leash on the street,” one wrote.

“Thank god the dog was wearing a jacket,” another person said.

Mostly though, people said the viral clips – which have amassed over 10 million views combined – were a “sign” they needed to buy a designer item.

“It’s like the expensive version of hook a duck,” one joked.

“They need to change the name to woof woof now,” another laughed.

My dog groomer must get ‘consent’ from my pooch during haircuts — or else

That’s one ruff client.

A Reddit user who claims to be a dog groomer shared an email allegedly from a picky woman looking to get her “rare” dog groomed for the first time.

“My name is Susan and I am looking for a groomer for my dog who can groom him in the non-confrontational manner I believe is best for him,” began the note, which recently resurfaced as it made the rounds on Reddit again.

“Dooley is an 18-month-old Bernowdoodle (if you are unfamiliar with the more rare doodle breeds, he is a Bernese mountain dog/chow/standard poodle) and this would be his first haircut as I have not found a groomer willing to work within the parameters I believe in.”

The picky client said she owned a rare kind of doodle breed.

Susan explained that Dooley’s hair was seven to eight inches long. She said she wanted one to two inches removed “all over.”

“While I’m sure any groomer could easily handle the haircut, I’m having difficulty finding a groomer willing to wait for him to consent to each part of the grooming,” she added.

“He will consent by maintaining eye contact with you while you are working, and if he looks away he is withdrawing his consent, and you will need to stop until he grants it again.”

As an added challenge, Susan demanded her pooch not be “leashed to a tub” or “forced into a cage” during the salon experience, as she does not believe in anything that could be “psychologically uncomfortable.”

The email was shared on Reddit, to much chagrin.

“Since I understand not everyone is as fluent in his language as I am I would prefer it if I stayed and supervised his grooming to make sure you don’t miss anything he is telling you,” she continued.

“Dooley will need a bath, blow dried, brush out (he might have a few small tangles but they will be easy to brush out) and a full standard doodle haircut.”

To top off the next-to-impossible request, Susan pushed for a tight time frame.

“My schedule is very busy so the appointment can only take a maximum of two hours,” she alleged.

“Based on the reviews I have read online, I do believe you are the perfect groomer for Dooley. Please advise me as to when the best time to bring him in would be.”

The client would not allow her pup to be “restrained” to a leash attached to the bathtub or a cage during the dog’s appointment.

Some Reddit users rolled their eyes at the paws-itively particular request. One Redditor even claimed to know the alleged groomer, proclaiming the email is a “combination of a lot of clients she had, some of which I was even there for.”

“I remember the email she got about the dog that she would only be allowed to groom if she had the dog’s consent,” the user posted over the summer.

Other Redditors had a ball in the comments.

“Rarer doodle breeds is where I started groaning. Eye contact/consent is where I was having difficulty breathing,” one commenter yelped.

“Just reply ‘lol,’” another simply advised.

“As a canine behaviorist with a degree in canine behavior and 15 years experience working with reactive dogs…this is the type of owner that turns their dog into a mess,” one Dr. Dolittle offered. “I’ve had clients like this. They reinforce their dog’s insecurities.”

“I’m all for cooperative care, but if you’re going to do the whole eye contact/chin rest/whatever cue as consent thing, you’re going to have to do the grooming yourself,” another suggested.

“No groomer has time for that, or if they did, it would cost hundreds because they’d only be able to do one dog a day,” the user added.
