Taylor Swift had Kanye West booted from Super Bowl

The Super Bowl LVIII sideshow known as Taylor Swift could have been extra spicy had the singer not flexed her muscles and had a rival booted from the venue.

At least, that’s according to former New York Giants wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

During a Monday episode of I Am Athlete’s “Paper Route” podcast, Marshall claimed to have inside knowledge of an alleged incident between Taylor and rapper Kanye West that played out before kickoff.

Marshall said that West purchased a pair of tickets for him and his wife, Bianca Censori, that were right in front of Swift’s luxury suite, which had been paid for by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

After finding out about West’s plan, Swift allegedly made some phone calls and had West booted from Allegiant Stadium.

“Kanye West pulls up to Vegas. Kanye West buys a ticket right in front of her booth,” Marshall said. “He had a mask on with his logo on the mask — typical Kanye. Taylor Swift gets (expletive) off. She boom boom makes a call or two. Everybody’s involved. He gets kicked out the stadium. He was trying to leverage her celebrity.”

Despite Marshall’s claims that West was kicked out of the stadium, he was seen several times throughout the night.

The Swift-West beef dates back to 2009 when Kanye interrupted her acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the MTA VMA’s, famously telling the audience that it was Beyoncé who deserved the award instead. The feud was reignited in 2016 when West crudely included a lyric about Swift in his song “Famous.”

At the time, West claimed Swift had given her permission to use the lyric, which she later denied. A phone call between the two was leaked, at which point Swift alleged that it was illegally recorded and manipulated.

“Trash takes itself out every single time,” she said at the time.

Neither Swift nor West’s representatives have confirmed or denied Marshall’s claim.

Brandon Marshall says MetLife Stadium turf basically ended his career

Editor’s note: If you click on and watch the YouTube video linked below, please be advised that it is extremely graphic and not safe for work.

Eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall played for eight NFL teams in his 14-year career and is considered one of the best at his position in the 2000s.

His career basically ended, however, after a five-game stint with the New York Giants when he suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 5 of the 2017 NFL season.

Marshall was eventually released by the Giants and landed in Seattle, where he played just six games in 2018. After failing to catch on in New Orleans and Pittsburgh, the 35-year-old Marshall retired from professional football in 2019.

In a January interview with Doctor Mike on YouTube, Marshall — who also played two seasons for the Jets — said the infamous turf at MetLife Stadium was to blame for his downfall.

“That was pretty much the last of me,” Marshall said of the ankle injury that ended his Giants career. “I felt like I could’ve played a couple of more years, you know? That play was over.”

Marshall was racing down the sideline to catch a pass out of bounds when he lost his footing and his legs went in unnatural directions.

“I snapped my deltoid,” Marshall said. “That’s really hard to do. That’s like a car accident. I knew it was over.”

Add Marshall to the long list of players who are pointing to the playing surface at MetLife Stadium for ending their careers.

Players have lobbied the teams to change from artificial turf to natural grass at MetLife and while Giants co-owner John Mara has said that’s the end goal, the stadium’s new turf is once again artificial.

Brandon Marshall doesn’t want Aaron Rodgers on Jets

PHOENIX — One former Jets wide receiver does not want to see Aaron Rodgers come to New York

Brandon Marshall, who set receiving records for the Jets in 2015, said Rodgers would be a short-term fix to a long-term problem.

“Aaron Rodgers is the best thrower of the football our game has ever seen,” Marshall said at the site of the Super Bowl, where he is doing media work. “This is our opportunity to really get it right and be in position to be contending next year. So, you can go Aaron Rodgers and feel like you’ll get there, right? But what’s going to happen after next year? I feel like a Derek Carr, even a Jimmy [Garoppolo], with that defense, with Elijah Moore used the right way and then Garrett [Wilson], we’re set up for the next five to seven years.”

Marshall, a six-time Pro Bowler, gave his pecking order for possible Jets QBs.

“If I was Woody Johnson Marshall, I would go Derek Carr as my 1, Jimmy G as my second option and then Aaron Rodgers as my third option,” Marshall said.

Marshall said he would also be concerned about how Rodgers would fit the Jets.

“It’s his age, but also the fit in the locker room,” Marshall said. “Guys are definitely going to respect him, but I just feel like Derek Carr can get you there. Derek Carr is the first one in, last one out. Derek Carr, he meets people where they’re at. The chemistry and continuity is everything. Remember, we tried this before with Brett Favre. We did this, Woody. We did it. We tried this before with Brett Favre. Derek Carr, that’s all we need. We don’t need the best quarterback. We need the right quarterback.”

Marshall also believes time on the bench will help Zach Wilson improve.

“He’s super talented. He has the moxie,” Marshall said. “He does have the makeup to be successful in that city. But you’re in the big city, you’re in the big leagues. We need it now. You don’t [usually] have time to sit there. Now, you’re going to have 12 months, maybe 24 to earn the trust back of not only the Jets but the other 31 teams and organizations. What are you going to do?”
