Family rescues 6-year-old girl after dingo attacks her and drags her underwater

A 6-year-old Australian girl was bitten in the head by a dingo that then dragged her underwater — until her heroic family members rushed in to save her from the wild dog.

The girl, only identified as being a young tourist, was savagely attacked while swimming in shallow water on Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island about 160 miles north of Brisbane, according to rescuers.

The dingo “tried to grab onto her” — then “held her underwater for a few seconds before nearby family members” raced in to help, the Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew said.

“They had to actually physically lift the child, and the dingo, out of the water and get it to let go,” EMT Martin Kelly told 9 News.

The girl was flown to a hospital with her mom. She suffered “multiple” bites to her head and hands, the rescue crew said.

Dingoes are an ancient lineage of dog only found in Australia. There are at least 200 on Fraser Island, where they are a protected species with adults typically about 4 feet long and weighing about 40 pounds.

Local officials give visitors handouts on how to “be dingo-safe,” advising adults to always stay close to kids.

“Watch out — dingoes can bite. A dingo is a wild animal and can be unpredictable and dangerous,” the local parks department warns visitors.

It is the second attack on the island since a boy was also rescued by his dad after a dingo jumped on him in December, The Australian noted.

In 2021, a 2-year-old was seriously injured in an attack on the island’s Orchid Beach, suffering deep puncture wounds on his legs, arms, neck, shoulder and head, the paper said.

Remote Alaskan town site of fatal polar bear attack on woman, boy

A polar bear has attacked and killed two people in a remote village in western Alaska, according to state troopers.

Alaska State Troopers said they received the report of the attack at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wales, on the western tip of the Seward Peninsula, KTUU reported.

“Initial reports indicate that a polar bear had entered the community and had chased multiple residents,” troopers wrote. “The bear fatally attacked an adult female and juvenile male.”

The bear was shot and killed by a local resident as it attacked the pair, troopers said.

The names of the two people killed were not released. Troopers said they were working to notify family members.

Troopers and the state Department of Fish and Game are planning to travel to Wales once weather allows for it, the dispatch said.

Wales is a small, predominantly Inupiaq town of about 150 people, just over 100 miles northwest of Nome.

Fatal polar bear attacks have been rare in Alaska’s recent history. In 1990, a polar bear killed a man farther north of Wales in the village of Point Lay. Biologists later said the animal showed signs of starvation, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

Alaska scientists at the US Geological Survey in 2019 found changes in sea ice habitat had coincided with evidence that polar bears’ use of land was increasing and that the chances of a polar bear encounter had increased.

Drunk man gets strangled by python in wild video

He almost shed his mortal coil.

An Indian man is lucky to be alive after getting ssssstrangled by a massive python that he was messing with while intoxicated. Footage of his near-death experience is currently blowing up online.

The literally breath-taking incident occurred after Birjalal Ram encountered an unidentified serpent while fishing in Parihara Panchayat, in Jharkhand, Jam Press reported. Upon spying the constrictor, the angler, who was reportedly inebriated at the time, decided to pick it up and put it around his neck like a living feather boa.

That’s when his scaly new scarf decided to tighten its grip. The entangled man then screamed for help, prompting his 14-year-old son, Nitish, and his buddies to rush to the rescue.

In the accompanying clip, Ram can be seen with his neck and head fully enveloped by the ornate reptile like a sentient Gordian knot. His son and his pals attempt to yank the critter off of him, only for Ram to topple into a nearby river with the python still encircling his throat.

They try several more times to free the victim from the snake’s death grip but to no avail.

After a 20-minute tug-of-war, Nitish was finally able to free his father, who incredibly emerged from the asphyxiating ordeal with only minor injuries.

As for toying with snakes, we suspect that, in retrospect, Ram feels that the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze.

Either way, the serpent-attack survivor should thank his lucky stars — and his son — that he’s OK.

Last month, a grandmother was swallowed whole by a 22-foot-long reticulated python in Indonesia — with shocking video capturing the moment her remains were found inside the cut-open beast.

Woman impaled by steel rod during monkey attack

Not the kind of belly piercing one hopes for.

A woman incredibly survived after being impaled by a steel rod after plummeting over 20 feet during an alleged monkey attack. Photos showing her inadvertent belly piercing are currently shocking people online.

[Warning: Graphic Images]

The freak accident occurred after the 20-year-old victim, named Khatija, was allegedly accosted by a band of monkeys while standing atop a roof in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Jam Press reported.

While attempting to fight her alleged simian assailants off, the poor woman fell off the roof and plummeted 22 feet onto a bar-lined boundary wall, whereupon one of the sharp rods pierced her stomach and back like a human shishkebab.

Unfortunately, Khatija lay there for a full hour before getting discovered by family members, who attempted to cut their impaled relative free. And while they succeeded at separating her from the boundary wall, the other half of the rod remained in her body.

Fearing the worst, the family rushed Khatija to the hospital, where they performed emergency surgery. Accompanying footage shows the patient lying on a bed with the steel stake sticking in one end of her midsection and out the other like a ghoulish spike piercing.

Thankfully, doctors were able to remove the bar and the Khatija “out of danger at this time” according to the presiding surgeon Dr Shishir Jaiswal. However, it’s yet unclear if she will make a full recovery, Jam Press reported.

Officials also have yet to confirm if the patient fell due to an altercation with angry monkeys, however aggressive macaques have been responsible for frequent attacks throughout India.

In a more serious incident in July in Bareilly, a troop of wild monkeys stole a baby from his father and tossed the boy from a third-story rooftop, killing him instantly.
