Gary Neville blasts “Glazer PR machine” and makes one demand abundantly clear – Man United News And Transfer News

Private equity giants Carlyle have emerged as a serious contender in discussions over the sale of Manchester United by the Glazer family.

As reported by The Peoples Person, the £298bn investment firm are keen on purchasing a minority stake in the football club.

But Gary Neville will be having none of it, with the United icon yesterday tweeting the following:

“No thank you! This doesn’t work for United!

“The Glazer PR machine keeps leaking this type of minority partnership out there bi-weekly whist stressing it’s a confidential process!

“Full Sale Only”

The former fullback has been vocal in his criticism of the Glazer family in recent times, highlighting the complete neglect of the club’s infrastructure under their tenure.

It has been 18 years since the leveraged buyout and United have fallen behind their main rivals in just about every area since.

News of the Glazers’ being willing to sell emerged back in November but, as we approach yet another round of bidding, patience is wearing thin enough to floss with.

Any indication that a minority investor could come in and facilitate the Glazers staying at Old Trafford would be met with complete and utter fury throughout the fanbase.

Neville’s suggestion that these minority partnership stories are being leaked to drive up the eventual sale price of the club is also an interesting one.

The Glazers are already assured of a record-breaking deal, with offers in the £4.3bn to £4.6bn range having already been tabled.

As they does not appear to be enough, United’s immediate future is being held at the mercy of Glazer greed.
